I am from Houston and this is probably the third store I'm doing a fitting at. My friend decided to book an appointment here for me during my visit in New York. I highly recommend requesting for Jamie. She is a pocket full of sunshine at designer loft. She made the entire bridal fitting experience fun and stress-free. I told her my budget, what my non negotiables were, and I let her do her thing. I am the type of person that trusts the stylist enough that I don't have the need to go around and look for dresses. Let me tell you, the dresses she brought back did not disappoint. I had fallen in love with a Yumi Katsura dress the day before and Jamie found me a top contender. I took my pics and figured I would sleep on it. I went back to Houston and decided I would keep shopping for a bit. I found myself trying to look for a similar style to what Jamie had found for me with no success. I reached back out and asked if she had the Yumi dress in the store. She did not but she called it in from another place so I can try it side by side with the top contender she had found. I flew back in yesterday to try both and said yes to the dress Jamie had picked out for me. :') Your stylist can make or break your experience. Please don't hesitate to book for Jamie!! She is wonderful. Love love love her!!

My dress was delivered with the hem a foot too long and bust was somehow 3 sizes larger than the original size purchased.

Summary: All Brides RUN from this bargain basement "bridal store"! I wouldn't wish this scam of a biz upon ANY bride. Their overpriced dresses and horrible alterations will ruin your wedding. Please don't become their next victim. Long Story: I visited the Bridal Loft after other bridal stores in NYC and at home. I had other gowns under consideration. The store is dirty and disorganized. The gowns are also EXTREMELY overpriced. Two dresses that I tried at Kleinfeld's were priced HIGHER here! I decided to take a look at the sample sale gowns. After seeing that some of them were discolored to the point of being LITERALLY BROWN & BLACK INSIDE, I should have left. It is disgusting that these were offered for purchase. But I saw a gown in a clear garment bag that caught my eye. It was not discolored or gross, I tried it on. I loved it, but it was a little too tight. They claimed they had an in-house seamstress that could let out the back, hem, bustle, and professionally clean and press the dress. They promised the alterations would be fast and the seamstress had a location near me (2 hours outside NYC). I purchased the gown 9 months before my wedding. After purchasing, I called the seamstress and left voicemails for months. 2 months before the wedding, she sent me a TEXT MESSAGE saying that she was "going back to her home country" and would not alter my gown! I contacted the store and left messages- no response. I remained polite in all communications. I FINALLY got through to someone after posting online about the seamstress situation. The person that finally called me back was the owner "Liz". She had a nasty attitude, seemed to be angry at ME, and told me that I needed to find my own tailor. After I sent her a copy of the contract showing that I paid for alterations, she stopped refusing to assist me- but she was clearly annoyed. Liz told me that since the seamstress near me quit, I would have to come to the city for fittings. I had no choice, so I took vacation time from a new job on 4 different days to make the 4 hour roundtrip visits to the city for alterations-THREE MONTHS before my wedding! At each fitting, I noticed that no work has been done on the dress. At the last fitting only the hem was completed and it was VERY CROOKED. There were beads and rhinestones that were suddenly loose on the bodice. The seamstress began to make strange comments like "This is a sample, sooo...", and "It IS a sample gown, so...you know...." as if to tell me I should not expect a decent quality of alterations to be performed on a sample wedding gown. However, she still said the alterations would be completed and sent to me within a week. 3 weeks passed. 7 days before my wedding, my gown was delivered to me in a beaten up box with several previous address crossed out by a marker. My wedding dress was THROWN inside the box in a rumpled pile. Not attempt at folding it, let alone shipping it in a proper garment box. THE DRESS HAD NOT BEEN FITTED at ALL! It was now SEVERAL inches too big in the bust, sides, and back, with loose beading, and there were now STAINS all over the satin skirt that had not been there before! I called and emailed the owner Liz. She ignored me for hours, then asked for pictures. After pictures were shared, she never responded again. I cried for the entire day. I spent the week of my wedding visiting every tailor in a 50 mile radius. They were all horrified that a wedding dress would be delivered in such terrible condition from a bridal shop- but they couldn't fix so many mistakes in such a short time. I finally found an amazing seamstress who couldn't believe a professional seamstress would do this to a bride. This tailor shop owners felt so bad for me that they agreed to try to save the dress and clean it. The last minute seamstress worked a miracle and fixed the dress in 3 days- finishing the day before my wedding. Last minute alterations cost me $1,000. They worked a miracle, but didn't have time to fix the hem or make the bust fit perfectly. The top fit well enough for pictures, but I could feel some slippage during dancing and had to adjust it. (Still miles away from the unwearable condition it was delivered in). The hem on the layers underneath was so long that I could not do my first dance without tripping. We had to cut most of the dance, and my planner had to pin the dress hem up with safety pins so I wouldn't trip during the reception. This dress ruined my wedding photos and our special moment of having a first dance. The stress isn't worth it. Go elsewhere. Avoid at all costs!

I don't think I could have had a more amazing experience at Designer Loft Bridal! From the moment we walked in the staff was friendly and accommodating. The salon was chock full of dresses but it wasn't chaotic, crowded or overwhelming. My Stylist Jamie was absolutely incredible! She had music playing, champagne and a tripod so I could FaceTime my sister who lives in Colorado. I had come here specifically for 1 designer/dress but was open to trying a few different styles. After a few interview questions she knew exactly what I was looking for. Every dress I tried on was gorgeous but in the end that one dress I made the trip for was My Dress. The pricing was fair (anything wedding related will give you sticker shock) and my dress was ordered before we even left. I literally cannot say enough great things about this place!

I bought my wedding dress from this shop in 2018 and from the moment the shop ordered my dress, it was a rocky road. The dress is style Paulette by Calla Blanche. I had asked to find out if it came in another color than ivory like an off white or cream, but never heard back until I reached out to find out it was already ordered. Without my knowledge the dress was ordered a size up, and months sooner than I had been advised. For production, we had asked if the sheer panels could be replaced with the white fabric, but the designer declined. Fine. We ordered extra fabric to have it altered in. I regret having my alterations done here. I was quoted at $900 plus the cost of the additional fabric. The fitting experience was OK and Natalia (Natasha?) kept me calm during the process. At my last fitting, I brought the dress home, hated it, and called the next day to come back in to fix the neckline. She did it that same night! I thought I was home free, but wait there's more. My wedding was 400+ miles away in my hometown, so I drove it in a couple weeks beforehand. Thank god I did. I tried the dress in for my mom AND THE BEADS AND RHINESTONES WERE FALLING OFF! I had to pay ANOTHER SEAMSTRESS $100+ to secure all the beadwork so it didn't fall apart or unravel. Super disappointed. I wish I had a better experience for such a memorable time in my life.

If you're trying on dresses in the City, you MUST add them to your list. The space is beautiful, extremely organized, and very well cared for. They even have you remove your shoes, which speaks to how clean and thoughtfully maintained everything is. There is plenty of room for brides and their guests, and the large mirrors make it easy to really see each dress from every angle. They have a large selection of dresses in different styles, and a very large selection of veils and accessories. I felt the dresses were the extremely clean compared to some other bridal salons. My appointment felt very personalized from start to finish. Charlotte, my bridal stylist, was absolutely wonderful!! She made me feel comfortable right away and was so easy to talk to and work with. She gave thoughtful advice, asked great questions to help narrow down what I was looking for, and was able to find additional dresses that matched my style really well. She even found one of my favorite dresses of the entire process. She explained how the dress could be customized and helped show me what a strapless version would look like. Charlotte also went above and beyond by helping take photos and videos from all angles so I could really see what each dress looked like. She even took a video of me walking around in my favorite dress, which was so helpful. Her communication was excellent throughout, and I really appreciated how attentive, kind, and knowledgeable she was. She knew so many details about the dresses and what customizations were possible. She followed-up with a detailed email on what next steps would look like, and I didn't feel pressure to purchase a dress on the spot. Wedsing Atelier is also Suzanne Neville's authorized flagship store in the US, and those dresses are extremely high quality and have such a secure internal corset. Highly recommend trying them on. Overall, I had such a great experience at Wedding Atelier and would HIGHLY recommend it to any bride looking for a clean, organized, beautiful boutique with a truly personalized experience!

Wedding Atelier - New York City…read more Wedding Atelier completely ruined my dress during alterations. The cups that were sewn in were two sizes too small, causing my bust to bulge out of the dress. The underwire cut into my chest, pushing one breast to the right and the other upward. With every fitting, the situation got worse rather than better -- leaving me in tears with my wedding only a week away. I ultimately had to take the dress to another seamstress just to salvage it. To make matters worse, after three fittings, they had not even completed a hem. Wedding Atelier charged $1,300 for alterations -- payment required at the time of purchase -- and refused to refund a single dollar despite the damage they caused. The owner, Carrie, was completely unsympathetic and unwilling to take any accountability for what happened. She is unethical,. If you want to protect yourself from unnecessary heartache and stress in the lead-up to your wedding day, I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere.

The fitting "area" didn't have a mirror so note it's more challenging to closely inspect the dress on your own. Definitely overpriced for very limited selection, which lacked variety. Was surprised that samples were often only priced maybe $500 off the "original price" (questionable if the listed original prices were even accurate, seems inflated, so hardly any cost savings). Many of the dresses were barely more than 20% off, most lower. They do have a small selection (1 rack) of plus sized dresses, although I didn't look through them but something to consider if you fall into that size range. Most of the dress sizes in bridal sizes 8-12, which had several racks. Hastily purchased a gown that I do regret. Note their policy of final sale, no exchanges. They do not take walk ins, but I called day of and received a same day appointment. I guess if you're desperate for a last minute dress with not many options, this places fills a role as you may find something to settle on. Apparently they have independent tailors they work with in store who they claim can quickly do last minute alterations as well but I cannot speak to the quality of said work and I see reviews questioning the quality. I also noticed they handle sales tax in an unusual way, which others may want to be aware of. Wouldn't say this is worth including in your journey to finding a gown in NYC unless you've run out of options.

There is a huge variety of styles, designers, and options, which is great if you want to try on a wide range of dresses in one appointment. That said, the overall experience felt much less personal than some of the other bridal salons I visited in New York City. It felt a bit like a factory of brides, with a giant room where many brides are trying on dresses at the same time. The mirrors were also surprisingly small and free-standing, and I felt very close up to them, which made it hard to really see myself clearly in the dresses. I also would have liked to step off the podium more to see how the dresses looked naturally, but my stylist seemed to prefer that I stay on it (and of course dresses tend to look better when you're elevated on a podium). The selection is definitely a major strength, and I understand why Kleinfeld is so well known. However, there are other bridal salons in New York City that feel much more personalized, spacious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. I also noticed that some of the stylists standing around elsewhere came across as judgmental, which took away from the overall atmosphere a bit. Overall, I'm still giving 5 stars because of the dress variety and the iconic experience, but I would say brides should go in knowing that it may feel less intimate and personalized than other boutiques in the city. I went on a weekday to avoid paying for the experience. I'd recommend others do the same, as I don't think the fee is worth it. My stylist also was the least knowledgable about dresses compared to other salons.

SAID YES TO THE DRESS!…read more I had an incredible experience at WONA in New York City. I booked an appointment for 5 Pm on a Friday, and from the moment I walked in, I was so impressed by the space. It is extremely large, clean, and beautifully decorated. They have two completely separate, huge rooms, so you are in total privacy from any other bride, which made the appointment feel really personal and calm. It was by far the largest room I had been in at any bridal salon in New York City. The guest area was also beautiful, with a large, gorgeous couch, and the actual fitting room was huge (definitely the most space I had anywhere while trying on dresses). My stylist was Sylvia, and she was absolutely amazing. She knew the dresses inside and out, answered all of my questions immediately, and seemed to know exactly which dresses I would want to try on. She was extremely personable and gave the perfect amount of space for me to figure out what I liked about each dress, while also offering helpful suggestions and options for what could be changed. I ended up wanting to personalize a dress with detachable sleeves and a non-sparkle lace, and Sylvia knew all of the customization options perfectly. She showed me exactly what the changes could look like and even brought out the identical lace without sparkles so I could really visualize it. She was so patient with me and handled everything perfectly, offering suggestions without ever being overbearing or pushy. She let me walk around in the dress, sit down, and do various poses. I really love many of their dresses as they have the corset back, making them so secure and giving breathability. They have so many incredible dresses with different styles, so it truly is a great place to find a dress. I later came back for a "say yes" appointment with some of my bridesmaids as I was between two dresses, and unfortunately Sylvia wasn't there. I wish I could remember the name of the stylist who helped me that day, because she was truly just as wonderful. I ended up saying yes to the dress, and the team was very patient while answering all of my questions and letting me read through the entire contract. I had seen some reviews mentioning concerns about the post-purchase experience, so I was a little nervous after purchasing, especially because I had questions about the sleeves and customized lace. However, when I emailed them, they responded very quickly and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I'm happy to update this review as the process continues, but so far WONA has been incredible. The space, the dresses, the privacy, the customization options, and most of all the stylists made this such a special and positive experience.

I felt like the girls you see on TV shows and movies with the private room, Prosecco, and my loved ones by my side. There were plenty of unique dresses to choose from. Thankfully I'd already done my research so I knew what I wanted to try on. I loved the ambience of the place. I literally felt like the only girl in the building thanks to how the rooms are set up. It's super private, and maybe the music playing drowns out the other groups of people in the building. Or maybe my excitement was really loud too lol. I also love the window view -- I was able to look out and realize every so often that I was really in New York shopping for a wedding dress. If you purchase a dress, you get to take pictures with the yes to the dress sign, and they also send you off with a nice gift bag as a thank you! I wasn't expecting that! I would recommend this location for your dress needs. As beautiful as these dresses are, they don't exactly break the bank which is a relief. So you don't have to worry about compromising finances to feel beautiful on your big day. Thank you again Sylvia and to her manager as well. You both were fantastic!

I left previous wedding dress appointments feeling sad and defeated. I had even sworn off strapless dresses, I loved so much in photographs, because I thought they just didn't look good on me. Not only did Nathan open the showroom early to accommodate me, since I was only there visiting New York for the weekend and booked a last minute appointment, he made me feel more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I had literally developed an anxiety over trying on wedding dresses. However, within seconds Nathan took all that anxiety away. After taking a quick look at me, he immediately pulled the Isabella dress, and said I had to try it on. Though I had sworn off strapless dresses, his confidence and conviction made me excited to give the dress a try. It was the first dress I tried on there, and when I looked in the mirror I could barely believe my eyes. I had never felt more beautiful. I felt like a classic Hollywood actress who belonged on the red carpet. I tried on more dresses. Though each of them impressed me, none cast the same spell as Isabella. Every girl deserves to have her moment- when the entire world stops and all eyes are on her. Nathan gives you that moment. He makes you feel like the star you truly are. Of course, none of this would be possible without Leanne Marshall's vision. I have since tried on other dresses I hoped would compare to hers, but no one else makes them the way she does. She understands what is most flattering on a woman's body, and it's the subtle but very important details she pays attention to that make a world of difference. Her dresses immediately make me feel like I have lost ten pounds! That's pretty magical if you ask me. I haven't purchased my wedding dress quite yet, but after all the dresses I have tried on I can tell you this. I will not be walking down the aisle in anything but a Leanne Marshall dress. Thank you Nathan for the wedding dress appointment of my dreams, and thank you Leanne for your beautiful creations.

However, to see them all (and trust me, you WANT to see them all), set up an appointment (required) to visit her NYC showroom. Each flowing, ethereal gown is more beautiful than the last. And the prices are absolutely fair! I initially worked with Angela, who was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic from the get go. I loved so many of the dresses that it was hard to decide which one to purchase. She was flexible in allowing me to come back in for a second appointment to try on my favorites once more before choosing THE ONE. The showroom is small so you will be the only client there, which makes the experience relaxed and personal. At no point did I feel pressured to buy. After making the final decision, Angela was professional in helping me understand the contract and taking my measurements. My emails were always answered quickly and all communication was easy and pleasant. Shockingly, the dress was finished a week earlier than expected and took only 4 months total! I picked it up today and it is just the most beautiful piece of work. Whitney was very helpful and attentive in completing the sale. I feel beyond lucky to have found Leanne Marshall and to own one of her creations. Pictures to come at a later date :) Brides, do yourself a favor and visit Leanne Marshall Bridal! These gowns are just breathtaking and superior to many others I tried on all over NYC.

She was nice, helpful, and picked some nice dresses close to or within my budget. There's a pedestal so you don't have to bring shoes. They have clamps that give a pretty good idea of the dress on you even if it's a much larger size. Our room was well-lit by natural sunlight. I wish they had more petite sizes. It'd also be helpful if their website had more filters and information on the product pages. Booking was easy. I booked a few months ahead. I chose the $25 regular appointment. Echo gave me her number in case I had questions after.

All parties have their own private rooms which are nicely lit. After discussing my wedding details and what I am looking for in a dress, she pulled a handful of dresses and we started the try-on's. There are also shoes to try on for height with the dresses. Grace-Ellis was really mindful of my budget, she reads reactions well, and gave great advice. She knew when I did or didn't like something, so she replaced a few dresses she had a feeling I wouldn't like with other ones, which I thought were great decisions. I really appreciated that she did that. I had a couple other appointments after The White Gown. She followed up with me in case I had any questions, and was so sweet and understanding. Never felt pressured at any time. I ended up saying yes to the dress at another shop, but there was a dress here that I really loved and made it a really difficult decision for me. Thank you for an amazing bridal appointment!
