My consultant was Bianca, and as soon as we started discussing what I was looking for she seemed to almost be mad / annoyed that I had questions. She interrupted me multiple times as I tried to explain what I was looking for, and borderline scolded me about speaking too quietly - it was extremely off-putting right off the bat and if my friend hadn't been there shopping with me I would have left immediately. The conversation felt very aggressive, like she was either making fun of me (for not knowing exact dress styles, etc.) or I was wasting her time. My friend separately noticed and commented on how she was treating me. There were other interactions we had with a few other employees where it just seemed like they didn't want to be there. I ended up finding a dress there but I regret purchasing it and patronizing this business. If you want to have an enjoyable, respectful shopping experience I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

There is a huge variety of styles, designers, and options, which is great if you want to try on a wide range of dresses in one appointment. That said, the overall experience felt much less personal than some of the other bridal salons I visited in New York City. It felt a bit like a factory of brides, with a giant room where many brides are trying on dresses at the same time. The mirrors were also surprisingly small and free-standing, and I felt very close up to them, which made it hard to really see myself clearly in the dresses. I also would have liked to step off the podium more to see how the dresses looked naturally, but my stylist seemed to prefer that I stay on it (and of course dresses tend to look better when you're elevated on a podium). The selection is definitely a major strength, and I understand why Kleinfeld is so well known. However, there are other bridal salons in New York City that feel much more personalized, spacious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. A few weeks prior to my appointment I received an email from Ronnie, one of the salons owners inviting me to have a call with Brooke, the Director of Client Experience. Brooke called me about a week before my appointment and we went over my budget, what I was looking for in a dress, and details about my wedding. She also went through the process with me of using my online account to "love" dresses so my stylist could have an idea of what I was looking for in a dress. On the day of my appointment I arrived with two bridesmaids and we sat in the lobby until we met Candace and Jen who was assisting her. I was brought back into the dressing room and we went over styles I might like, budget and details about my wedding. She also wanted to know where I was in the dress shopping process to see whether I was still getting a feel for different styles. She pulled a number of dresses that were the style I wanted and within budget. The only dress I tried on outside of my budget was one hanging on the rack that caught one of my bridesmaids eyes. I had my own pedestal because the place was not busy and Candace and Jen were great at listening to my likes and dislikes. I ended up saying "yes to the dress," and I'm overall thrilled with the end result and my experience with Kleinfeld throughout the entire process.

Was surprised that samples were often only priced maybe $500 off the "original price" (questionable if the listed original prices were even accurate, seems inflated, so hardly any cost savings). Many of the dresses were barely more than 20% off, most lower. They do have a small selection (1 rack) of plus sized dresses, although I didn't look through them but something to consider if you fall into that size range. Most of the dress sizes in bridal sizes 8-12, which had several racks. Hastily purchased a gown that I do regret. Note their policy of final sale, no exchanges. They do not take walk ins, but I called day of and received a same day appointment. I guess if you're desperate for a last minute dress with not many options, this places fills a role as you may find something to settle on. Apparently they have independent tailors they work with in store who they claim can quickly do last minute alterations as well but I cannot speak to the quality of said work and I see reviews questioning the quality. I also noticed they handle sales tax in an unusual way, which others may want to be aware of. Wouldn't say this is worth including in your journey to finding a gown in NYC unless you've run out of options.
