Growing up, I was a huge Say Yes to the Dress fan and I happened to be in NYC for a work trip so this seemed like the perfect time to go and see if I could find my dress. My consultant was Debra and right off the back, she was lovely! She had such a great sense of humor and allowed me to be open and honest and what I was looking for. We stayed within my budget (yay!) and she was so patient and helpful. I did end up finding my dress, which I didn't expect to because the dress that I ended up buying was VERY different than what I came in wanting (sounds like an episode of the show, am I right?) but it was the perfect dress for me. I'm giving Kleinfeld 5 stars because they do have an incredible selection of dresses, and it is definitely a memorable place to shop. There is a huge variety of styles, designers, and options, which is great if you want to try on a wide range of dresses in one appointment. That said, the overall experience felt much less personal than some of the other bridal salons I visited in New York City. It felt a bit like a factory of brides, with a giant room where many brides are trying on dresses at the same time. The mirrors were also surprisingly small and free-standing, and I felt very close up to them, which made it hard to really see myself clearly in the dresses. I also would have liked to step off the podium more to see how the dresses looked naturally, but my stylist seemed to prefer that I stay on it (and of course dresses tend to look better when you're elevated on a podium). The selection is definitely a major strength, and I understand why Kleinfeld is so well known. However, there are other bridal salons in New York City that feel much more personalized, spacious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. I also noticed that some of the stylists standing around elsewhere came across as judgmental, which took away from the overall atmosphere a bit. Overall, I'm still giving 5 stars because of the dress variety and the iconic experience, but I would say brides should go in knowing that it may feel less intimate and personalized than other boutiques in the city. I went on a weekday to avoid paying for the experience. I'd recommend others do the same, as I don't think the fee is worth it. I went to Kleinfelds on a Thursday morning during a quick trip to New York and had a phenomenal experience. I want to preface my review by saying that I booked one of the first appointments of the day during the week so the salon was not busy. I can't speak to the weekend experience. A few weeks prior to my appointment I received an email from Ronnie, one of the salons owners inviting me to have a call with Brooke, the Director of Client Experience. Brooke called me about a week before my appointment and we went over my budget, what I was looking for in a dress, and details about my wedding. She also went through the process with me of using my online account to "love" dresses so my stylist could have an idea of what I was looking for in a dress. On the day of my appointment I arrived with two bridesmaids and we sat in the lobby until we met Candace and Jen who was assisting her. I was brought back into the dressing room and we went over styles I might like, budget and details about my wedding. She also wanted to know where I was in the dress shopping process to see whether I was still getting a feel for different styles. She pulled a number of dresses that were the style I wanted and within budget. The only dress I tried on outside of my budget was one hanging on the rack that caught one of my bridesmaids eyes. I had my own pedestal because the place was not busy and Candace and Jen were great at listening to my likes and dislikes. I ended up saying "yes to the dress," and I'm overall thrilled with the end result and my experience with Kleinfeld throughout the entire process. read more

He listened to everything I liked and didn't like, let me try on all kinds of styles, and never made me feel rushed or pressured. After watching the show for many years, I suggested my great niece go to Kleinfeld to look for her wedding dress. Her mother, sister and I joined her on the trip. Payton was her assigned expert. It appeared she was shadowed by someone in training. We went on a Tuesday. We did not realize that Tuesdays was the day that they highlighted the dresses of one designer in particular. After a period of time in which my great niece was shown a few dresses that were not of interest , I asked if they would pull dresses from other collections. After Payton pulled a couple of dresses from other designers, my great niece found a dress that she fell in love with. As happens with brides to be , she was very uncertain over whether or not she should commit to the dress without thinking further about it . As time was up for the appointment, she decided to leave and give it some thought as she had taken pictures of the dress. The trip is easy from the Philadelphia area to New York so we knew that we could easily. return after she had made her final decision. Payton assured her that she would email her all the information about the dress as well as the information that had been shared regarding the alteration process, etc. We left to go to lunch and returned home later that day. Payton never followed up sending the information to my great niece, although my great niece texted her numerous times to ask for the information. Payton did not respond to any of my great nieces texts. Oddly enough, Payton was the one that confirmed how she could best communicate. Needless to say we were very surprised when no follow up occurred. Just left a bad taste in my mouth as well as my great niece's and as a result, although she loves that dress and was interested in buying it from Kleinfelds she is now looking to find a comparable dress in other salons. This led me to decide on a GOLD appointment so that me and my party could have the privacy and service level I wanted. It was truly a dream come true. This credit primarily goes to Stephen my stylist. He was phenomenal. Courteous, considerate, stylish, patient, and funny. We were all floored by the professionalism of the staff and the variety of dresses that the boutique carries. STOP AND READ BEFORE BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT First, congratulations on your engagement -- I truly hope you find your dream dress! That said, I strongly encourage you to filter reviews here and on Google by lower-star ratings -- especially from real brides -- before deciding to book at Kleinfeld Bridal. What you find might save you a lot of stress, tears (and money). Here's my honest and incredibly disappointing experience at Kleinfeld: First Appointment (9 months prior to wedding) Prior to visit, I submitted 4-5 reference numbers of dresses before my visit, as requested. At the appointment, my consultant Lisa F. informed me that all dresses would need to be "rushed" to arrive in time -- even though my wedding was 9 months away (#1 ). Only 2 of my selected dresses were pulled for the appointment (#2 - unprepared). One of the dresses I tried on was the 'Lily-Blanch' in size 8 -- and it fit perfectly (See photo). Lisa mentioned it had been stretched by other try-ons, but I made it clear I was actively losing weight and was happy with current size and fit. Then the hard-sell tactics started (#3 ): constant pressure to "Say Yes to the Dress," non-stop! this is not an exageration. Second Appointment - Dress Try-On + Order I returned a few weeks later to try on the dress again and place my order. I specifically confirmed that I was fine with the cup size and cleavage, and Lisa even noted on the order twice: "Bride is okay with cleavage." I was measured and all paperwork was completed. However, they stamped my form with: "PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT YOUR ORDER IS STAMPED FOR CLOSE DELIVERY... 4 WEEKS OR LESS TO YOUR EVENT." This wasn't true -- the dress was supposed to arrive 4 months before the wedding. This appears to be a tactic to upcharge on alterations . Dress Pickup - A Major Issue This is where everything fell apart (#4 ) They ordered a size 12, NOT ONE BUT TWO SIZES BIGGER (see picture) -- even though all notes confirmed the smaller size fit me. Their reason/excuse? To "cover cleavage," despite written confirmation that I was fine with it. Naturally, the size 12 was falling off me. The proposed solution? - A $1,750 alteration fee -- almost half the cost of the dress -- to tailor it down. - When I objected: Staff tried to discuss the issue in front of other clients (zero privacy). - They didn't acknowledge the mistake. - They offered an "off-the-books" deal to do the alterations at someone's house for $1,200. as a "favor" for the inconvenience. - No apology. No accountability. No resolution. By that point, returning the dress wasn't an option -- with limited time and the wedding being based internationally, I was stuck. If you still choose to book at Kleinfeld, PLEASE: 1. Expect sales pressure, comparable to car sales experience. 2. Document everything. Take notes, confirm order details in writing, and request copies. Ask them to explain every detail. 3. Bring someone with you. A second set of eyes (and ears) helps. 4. Question everything. Ask about sizing, fees, delivery timing -- get clear answers. 5. Don't assume they have your best interest at heart. You're not getting a luxury service -- you're being pushed through a high-volume sales machine. This review isn't about one employee. My sisters and I have been a fan of say yes to the dress since we were children now in our 30s and 40s. The store was truly amazing to see however, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would have been. The Staff was very professional and courteous. Our bridal expert was Chloe, so sweet, beautiful, and truly a gem. She had nothing to do with the reason I am giving four stars, she deserves five. Even though we did not pick the dress from Kleinfeld, she gave us the knowledge and know how, direction to be able to find the right dress, so I thank her for that. On another note, I didn't enjoy sharing a pedestal with another bride. I think it was super invasive and cut into the time allotted. It will be my suggestion that each bride has their own attention during their time and not so much of a rush shop with having two brides to share the same area at the same time. I should have known something was off when Kleinfeld called me two weeks in advance to confirm details and I could never get ahold of them after that initial voicemail. The sales manager had said she would call me back at a specific time and never did. They also said we could chat over text and never could get a conversation moving. Upon arrival we were ushered into a 'VIP' room that wasn't near the main floor. I saw no other brides even in that hallway. The room I was in had unplugged air conditioners with loose chords in them (not what I would expect from the legendary Kleinfeld from SYTTD.) I met my stylist, who was very kind but did not pull a single dress in my price range. Some dresses I didn't even know were out of my budget until I saw the tag when putting them on or off. I told her I would expand my budget by an extra thousand and that didn't help find more dresses. She said she knew my 'dream dress' but it was 5K, and I confirmed I was unwilling to double my budget. She seemed frustrated I didn't want to put on a gown I knew I couldn't buy. The icing on the cake was that 40 minutes into my appointment I was politely told to get dressed . I didn't even understand what was happening at first because there was still an hour left in the appointment and was told that there are no dresses here for you. I was floored that I was politely walked out of the salon along with my group. My group was shocked as well since I only had 4/5 dresses on during my appointment. I wasn't rude or opinionated, apparently there was just nothing in my budget and I didn't want to try on dresses that were 5/6 thousand dollars. I'm totally fine with salons serving brides with higher price points, but I don't think it's fair to even take appointments if you can't show dresses that are within the budget that I provided in advance. I left my appointment feeling embarrassed and extremely self conscious. Upon arriving, my mom and I were seated with a bunch of other ladies waiting for their appointment in the big lobby. Its setup was fancier than most dress places I've been to, but also less welcoming and friendly. I didn't appreciate the slight wait past my appointment time, but when my consultant was ready for me, she came out to get me. The whole process reminded me of waiting at the doctor's office. I tried on a good amount of dresses here, but my consultant was very petite and I felt bad for her having to deal with all the big dresses I was trying on. She wasn't as warm as other consultants from other wedding dress shops but she did her job. I liked that I was given a room with my own mirrors inside. The privacy was top-notch, but the room was a bit on the smaller side. I'd have to say Kleinfeld was my least favorite wedding dress shop. Two of my very good friends came here for their gowns and had a great experience. I came here with very high expectations for service to value. The service was excellent and detailed from the beginning to end. I received a nice email from Ronnie welcoming me to Kleinfeld and booked a meeting with Brooke, their client relationship manager. She asked great questions wanting to get to know my style and personality to match me with a stylist. I very much appreciated that. I booked the $100 90 minute stylist session on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, I didnt say 'yes to the dress.' I didnt like the setup of the store. Its very turn and burn, the lobby was packed, there were a lot of brides screaming, "yes to the dress," it felt like I was a trade show. I waited for about 10 minutes and was met with my stylist. She asked me questions about my sense of style and fiancé. After that she grabbed a few dresses that she felt that I would like. A lot of them were very pretty, but I could not get past how dirty the gowns were, a lot of the material and craftsmanship felt cheap (my budget is 5k max, so I dont if thats why). To me, if a white gown looks yellow, has black marks or a lipstick stain then their alterations department is not to be trusted. I tried to keep an open mind as I know it was a weekend and they are all sample sizes...plus a lot could be customized. As I walked from the dressing room to the front, I passed by a lot of other brides and their families. It felt like a circus and I felt myself comparing the other gowns that I didn't get to see. If I had more money I would have definitely booked the VIP options but Im a baller on a budget. If your budget is below $5k and you're picky like me, stir clear or book the VIP session. read more

What an amazing day at Kleinfelds! My daughter and I have drempt of this adventure for years, especially after watching the TV show, Say Yes To The Dress! Book the appointment, they will request the dress we were told. We bought plane tickets and got hotel rooms. After months of unreturned calls and emails we were told by email a week before travel for the appointment that due to "tariffs" the dress would not be available. Very unprofessional behavior. Honestly, I wouldn't even waste my time here. We flew in for this appointment and my best friend paid for the VIP experience and it was honestly a joke. Not only did we have to ask multiple times for champagne that was suppose to be included, the " charcuterie board" was not what was displayed on the website. The saddest part was the stylist. The stylist seemed annoyed and bothered to be helping us to begin with. The stylist didn't ask any details or make the bride feel like they were excited or interested in the upcoming big day. They gave no direction and by the end of the appointment brought us a dress that was double the price range the bride wanted to be in. I knew coming to Kleinfeld would be the best chance in learning what fits/works best for me and my style. Besides it's reputation, coming to Kleinfeld has been something my grandmother and I have been looking forward to since I was 7 years old. I flew in for the appointment and was paired with Candace B. Her expertise, personality, and attitude made for the perfect time for me. I learned so much about the style that I wanted and it was absolutely due to her knowledge and experience. ORIGINAL 1 Star Review: I never imagined I'd be writing this review, but my experience with Kleinfeld left me deeply disappointed. I purchased my wedding dress here, excited for what was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of my life. Tragically, my fiancé and I had to postpone our wedding due to the devastating loss of our daughter after her time in NICU. In the midst of our grief, I reached out to Kleinfeld, not asking for a refund, but simply requesting store credit so that I could still use their store when we were ready to reschedule. Given the circumstances, I hoped for a bit of empathy and understanding. Instead, I was met with a cold, rigid policy with no exceptions. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable--just the ability to use the value of my unaltered dress when the time was right. A company that prides itself on being part of such meaningful milestones should understand that life isn't always predictable. Losing my daughter was the hardest thing I've ever experienced. She's been in the wedding industry for 10 years and she made me so comfortable and knew exactly what dresses to pull for me. The experience was exactly what I dreamt about. I watched the show for years as a kid with no boyfriend just in love with the whole process and the customer service. We were on vacation from Florida and I was able to get an appointment and it was perfection. I can't believe I got to say yes to the dress here and she did so well trying to stay within our budget. Of course like almost every other bride we went over the budget a bit but I can't wait to get my dress in and try it on. I went wedding dress shopping at Kleinfeld's and I said "yes" to the dress of my dreams! I have always been dreaming of being a Kleinfeld bride and so excited that it worked out so perfectly. I have always loved watching the tv show "Say Yes to the Dress" and I seriously had a VIP worthy experience that was like the tv series without the cameras. I was counting down until the moment that I made my grand entrance into the bridal shop. When it was time for my appointment, I was introduced to my bridal stylist (Victoria), who was the absolute perfect match! She was so amazing and made every moment so magical. I introduced her to my mother (Mother of the Bride) and sister (Matron of Honor), who were with me for my appointment. They were seated in an area by the mirrors and then I was led into a private area with the fitting rooms. She took her time with me in her consultation about my wedding dress vision, wedding Mass & venue reception to get a vibe about my style. She then went to pull a few dresses that matched my criteria of what I was looking for and she is so attentive to detail. She actually surprised me and showed me a dress that I wasn't even aware that it existed and voilà! I was obsessed and instantly fell in love with the wedding gown and it was better than anything that I could have ever imagined. It was truly beyond my wildest wedding dreams! I was excited to show off the wedding gown that Victoria pulled and returned to the big showroom to my mother and sister, who also absolutely loved it and were very emotional, but so happy! I was looking in the mirror and instantly knew that was the dress that I envisioned getting married in to my fiancé. Victoria asked me the question and I said "Yes to the Dress". It was so sweet to have customers cheer and applaud after I said yes. It was a big moment for the books and unparalleled to any experience that I ever had in my life! Big shoutout again to Victoria for being the perfect bridal consultant, who was so warm, friendly and energetic. So excited to see her again when I return for the dress fittings and alterations. I also would love to take a moment for the bridal accessories appointment and give another big shoutout to Jay, who was my accessory consultant. Jay went downstairs with me into the exclusive Kleinfeld lounge. I was so in awe because it was a private experience when I went during the week. Jay was also a good listener about my dream wedding look and managed to shop for accessories that fit so perfectly for my vision. I am so thankful to Jay for excellent customer service and for offering expertise on what would look best matched with dresses offered at Kleinfeld to perfect the overall bridal look.
