Worse company for an alarm system yet. Number one if it went off they didn't call. We were told that once the equipment was paid for the bill would go down and it went up. Every time I called they would offer to decrease my bill but it would go back up again with no warning, that's why they want to take it out of your account. When I called to cancel they offered to go down again, then the billed me twice after I canceled claiming it took that long. Do your self a favor avoid them! Called about an issue and to upgrade my service, but could not get anyone to help me and was passed back and forth between departments with zero communication between each department. Aside from the fact that when we had them I was always on the phone with one problem or another, this comment is about what happens when you terminate their service. Each person I talked to told me we had 30 days before the contract would charge for the remaining balance for monitoring since our new buyers had that much time to re activate so I would not have to pay the balance. They have attempted to charge me twice and we still have 10 days to go and every time I call its a different person, until I actually got a service person to send me an email in writing to verify I had this time. That did not even keep them from trying to get the money before it was due to them. This person this morning told me a completely different story than the person who sent me the email. If our new buyers do not set up service exactly by 3/18, ADT not only gets every dime I have to pay but then collects the 56.00 a month from the new buyers. They went to our house, promised us an HD camera but they install the blurred camera. they drill a hole on our wall done by a lazy person per our builder with wires hanging. 4days later I learned that they sent me to a financing company. ****Corrupt company!!** Please read this before getting service with this company! I had ADT installed in my home a couple years ago, my house was on the market and I was eager to have a security system as there had been a lot of crime recently in the area and my kids and I were often alone at night. The issues started right away with this company, I choose them because they were the "least expensive" company I had called, or so I thought. I was quoted a price over the phone and I made it very clear my house was being sold and there wouldn't be any additional fees to move service and was told "no charges to move services." When the technician arrived at my home the price was completely different than what had been quoted! By hundreds of dollars! I was still eager to have the system installed so I went ahead and paid this insane amount and once again clarified that there was NO fee to move my service if my house sold, the Tech made it clear they wouldn't charge extra. Several months later my house sold and I called ADT to have my services moved, a tech from ADT went to my old home and removed all the equipment and brought to my new home, then a few days later another tech came to my house to reinstall and tried to charge me hundreds of dollars to reinstall! I told him I was told it was free and he refused to install free of charge so I told him I no longer wanted their service, ADT sent me a bill for 750.00 for cancelling service and I explained they didn't hold up their end of the deal so I shouldn't have to pay that amount to cancel. They were so rude and the man I spoke with basically told me "too bad" when I explained what had happened, he also said ADT is a large company and I wouldn't win a lawsuit as they have attorneys that deal with this "all the time". I went to BBB and complained and ADT added an additional 500+ dollars to my "bill" but said they would discount the $500 and I only needed to pay the $750.00 that I should have never owed in the first place! I told them "NO I shouldn't have to pay that. I don't have that and we are in the middle of a pandemic." They sent me to collections and now say I owe thousands of dollars! I am getting at attorney and suing them and I hope this entire company changes how they treat people. read more

I'm a customer who is trying to move and they conveniently didn't tell me that I had to start a new contract with them at my new home; not just transfer it over. They must hire people with no customer service experience because the guy I talked to tried to run me through as quickly as possible. He just wanted to make the company a few bucks. When I tried to call back and talk to them about this a supervisor, Kai told me I can go month to month on their DYI system. I guess you can get the equipment and install yourself. Well, when I was transferred over to the moving department the lady told me, "That person must be new, you can't do that". Wait, what!? So this guy (a person who can make manger decisions) just gave me a butt load of wrong information. I'm under the impression Kai just wanted to get me off the phone so he didn't have to deal with me. Ugh, so I'm pretty much stuck with an old contract (Pay to get out) or stuck starting a new one for 36months. They also wreaked havoc on my bank account, putting through almost $800 in charges instead of the $289 we agreed to. BEWARE, as soon as you sign the contract, they have your credit/debit/checking account information and put through over $500 worth of charges that were never agreed to! Also, the poor hard-working installation tech will not get paid if you decide not to stay with the company and are lucky enough, as I was, to cancel during the 3-day right of rescission period. I say "lucky" because an ADT employee advised me that I needed to cancel the same day I called in my complaint (Day 2 of the 3 day recission period) about unauthorized account charges, or I would have been liable for paying on a 2 year contract - mind you, this was ONLY just under 2 days from the time I signed the contract. Do not use ADT. We have been trying to cancel our service for a while. Every time we call we have to wait one hour to talk to someone, then they keep transferring you and hanging up. It's absolutely ridiculous. We now need to call our bank to block them from charging us. RUN!!! Unbelievably awful customer service! In the beginning everything seems awesome, they are very helpful and responsive so you choose to go with them. Until you run into your first issues, which you will very quickly, then the blame game and I don't knows begin. They basically do their best to frustrate the customer so much that they give up on the issue! Awesome customer service strategy guys! If you stick with it and call and call and call you will eventually get someone to help you but by then is all the time and headache you spent really worth it!?! We purchased this system for our business location and had issues right from the start. After the install began our area rep bailed on us and left us with ADT trying to charge us $2000 more for equipment he threw in for free to sweeten the deal. Fun story, ADT has no idea what goes on in the field, the rep doesn't really update them and even when ADT tried to get in contact with him to confirm what we were saying, he basically ghosted them as well. They did end up fixing the issue after 3 weeks and about 15 phone calls. Then the monthly billing issue began. They started over charging us in our monthly billing in what we were guessing was a round about way to make back the money for the equipment they had just agreed to include because of all of the hassle. Another 2 weeks and 10 phone calls later, we finally got that corrected. Fast forward about 5 months, our alarm was triggered and 1am and they called to ask if we wanted police sent, we said yes. They called back to tell us they wouldn't and it wasn't their fault because a permit was never filed. WHAT PERMIT!?! The one your rep should have told you about and set up in the beginning! You mean the rep that bailed on us! So in all of the previous phone calls we had made, in all the complaints made about the rep, after talking to many higher ups, not a single person ever informed us that we didn't have a permit registered 5 months ago knowing our rep had bailed on us. Now for the past 2 nights we have since it happened we are getting calls between 1230-130am letting us know we should have the system checked after the recent incident. Thanks ADT for waking us up in a panic 3 nights in a row and when we call to complain and get it fixed, commence the I don't know why's and blaming everyone else instead of just fixing the problem. Way to take responsibility and and care of your clients ADT, here goes another few weeks of calls and complaints again I'm sure to get this issue fixed now as well. RUN! ADT is the biggest scam!! The person came out to our house and told us we would be paying a total of $13 and some change every month for their services. Granted I should have read the paper I signed but I was young and dumb and trusted the ADT rep that came out to out house because he made it seem like it was an amazing deal . When it was time for the first payment the $13 that was told was due came out of our account, 4 days later another charge for $65. I called ADT because that was not what we were told. ADT told me that the $13 was only for the equipment not for them to monitor our house, the $65 was for them to monitor our house. So per a month we were paying $80 and that was not affordable for us. I tried to cancel the services but the ADT REP told me I was stuck in a 5year contract and to terminate the contract we would have to pay $2,200 for the early termination fee. I was literally in tears because who can afford that when I could barely pay $80 a month at the time. When we finally saved up the money to end the contract, (which was 3 years later) they have made it so hard to get out of. When I called to cancel I was transferred to multiply different people who kept trying to convivence me not to end this contract, literally 7 different people I was transferred to and then they would try to sale me or thing. This company will scam you and take every little bit of money you have and on top of that I never was notified when my alarm went off even though I paid extra for the app to tell me when this happens bc I lived in a townhouse and a constant beep was annoying for my neighbors. I came home for lunch one day and my alarm had been beeping for hours and I had to call them for an explanation no one ever reached out to me, so you pay for the services and the extra upgrade for them not to tell you what is going on in your house. OVERCHARGED, CANCELLED THE INSTALL I placed my order for service over the phone. I was to get an alarm system for free, having several credits coming to me. When the technician came to my home, he quoted $6,000+ for the system. I balked at the price. The more I said no the lower the price got. Finally, I agreed to pay an extra $299 for a camera doorbell. My home has a system already installed that. At first I was told that the old system (two years old) could not be used. After questioning this issue, the technician decided he was able to use the old system and any adjustments would be covered by my credits. The technician was here almost four hours hooking up the system and still were not quite finished. Not thinking that the installation would take so long I ended up Gabriel no to cancel another appointment for this afternoon. When they were almost finished, the technician asked what monthly service I had been quoted. I told him $27 per month. He informed me that amount was incorrect and the charge would be twice as much. This was not confirmed with me prior to drilling holes in my walls and taking up my entire morning with his sales pitch and installation. I cancelled the service request and asked for a refund in the $100 amount I had already paid. I did get a telephone number to call to repair the holes in my walls. So here goes, I am a adt customer and I want to share my story. I decided to secure my home with this product and I have a few complaints. 1. When my alarm system was installed on my home the contractor also installed CCTV cameras on my home which were amazing. They were hooked up to a DVR and were viewable from my phone through an app. 2. So I wanted more camera coverage on my home and called to upgrade. Adt worked with me and sent a tech. 3. Tech comes to home and says they dont do the hard wired cameras but they have these new ip based cameras that are the bees knees. So he talks me into getting these cameras and hits me with the cost. 4. 1200 dollars for these cameras and I can view from my phone on adt pulse app. 5. Unbeknownst to me I was suckered into a 3 year contract I just found out about. 6. If I cancel my service the cameras I spent 1200 for become paperweights. 7. I spoke to a supervisor in Florida somewhere and he basically said im screwed. So here is why im pissed and this company is shady af. An incident occurred at my home and I thought my cameras that I spent 1200 fucking dollars on would be my saving grace. Well they weren't they didnt catch shit and I was arrested. Glad I at least had witnesses so I can fight but f*****g video evidence would have been amazing. So I find out why, well if something moves In front of the camera it records for a whole 30 seconds but here is the catch it doesnt record again for 3 full mins. So I contact your company and try and rectify this and what do you know im told pretty much im screwed and I have to keep the service. I've had ADT for over a year. What is most disconcerting is I've called their 800 number a number of times to get a busy signal, or worse "this number is not in service" (but it works other times and since I have it programmed into my phone, it is not a matter of me typing it in wrong). What if I had an alarm situation and needed to get to them quickly? In addition they want to charge $114 for the technician to come out and reprogram the key fob ..two days from now...even though I've changed the system password I cannot change the key fob. I have had problems with this company from the start. They have always charged random amounts of money to my account, saying they can't get the payments to go through. Constantly telling em I'm all set when I wasn't. I canceled because of a move in June, they had some astronaumical cancellation fee which I payed at the time and I was told my account was all set and closed. Confirmation number and everything. All of a sudden I was getting random charges on my account and yesterday it was almost $400. Trying to contact someone is impossible. They just blame you instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes. In between all this, and ADT sales person showed up at my new house door at almost 9 pm. It took them 3 weeks for them to come to my house after sign up just to have their tec drill through my wall and hit a wire and leave it that way saying he'll come back and fix it the next day just to make a bigger mess and add a bigger hole in my wall, and for them to fix it they had to send out 3 people for quotes which took almost another month! worst cus service I've ever had and left a live wire in my walls which could've caused my house to burn down and wouldn't let me cancel without paying the 75% fee! definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone I know over priced as well read more

Where do I start? False alarms, constant blinking messages saying "Trouble" on the keypad, repair person left me with holes in my wall and additionally left old motion detectors in place when replacing with new ones so my walls have one motion detector under the other which looks ridiculous. One new motion detector fell off within hours of him leaving my house. Don't even try to cancel service without telling them you are moving as they put you on a line where you are on hold forever without an answer. I had to lie about moving to get them to cancel service and even then you're told you can't cancel for 30 days and have to pay for another month of service you don't want. Had an ADT tech show up at my home at 230pm, 30 mins before he was suppose to show up, sat in front of my home reading a paper, my wife called to inform me there was a guy sitting in front of our home, never went to door just sat there. I pulled up at 3pm my scheduled time window between 3pm and 6pm. From here it progressively goes sour quick. The tech comes in my home seems to be completely lost, did not put any shoe coverings on nor take his shoes off, thank you for the mess left on my floors. Walked around for about 30 mins says I am going to make a phone call. He goes out front on MY PORCH, and starts smoking and talking on the phone. I walked out front and stated we don't smoke here, he responds my bad. About 15 mins later he comes back in my home we are at 414pm now, says ok I don't have all the equipment to do your install I am having it brought to me will be here in about 45 mins, then it will take me about 2.5 hrs to do the install putting him in my ho.e until around 8pm. My response no , we have dinner to eat and your lack of preparedness is not going to incontinence me. He says ok let me make a call. Goes back out on my porch for about 15 mins until I walk out front to tell him let's wrap it up, then I am told we will refund uour money but have no way to send any type of proof to that effect. If you can use another security company I would advise, poor service, poor workmanship, poor customer service , terrible experience all the way around. read more

We would like to give triple zeroes for a review if we had the opportunity.We sold our house and wanted to cancel service as of our closing date...... with more than two weeks notice. According to the ADT representatives they require 30 days notice so service would continue when we were no longer owners of the property. We were not able to talk to any managers for assistance..... a manager would contact us within 24 to 48 hours. This is worse than a bad gym membership to get out of. They auto-drafted over $400 from my checking account with no notice whatsoever and have passed me around to several different reps over the past few months all who were not helpful and all who told me false information. I have documentation and proof of all this and they continue to tell me they will "see what they can do" and never resolve anything or get me my money back.
