One star is too much for them!! I cancelled these creeps over a year ago, for being complete idiots like Protection one said they would be. Short example: The only way i got help with an issue, was to pretend to be a NEW CUSTOMER! Going forward, I need a purchase a replacement cover for a camera I got from them, and these MIND FARTS said, "they can't help me because I no longer have service with them." You shouldn't have to have service for the to purchase replacement parts. Do your research, I could go on and on about these creeps! You've been warned! read more

Just so you know when you sign with "ADT" you could possibly be under contract with defender for a period of your contract who work with ADT: I've had nothing but issues my system wasn't even contacted to the monitoring for about 8 months. I complained and just wanted to speak with someone wrote 2 letters to defender and ADT never got a response back. The system works OK, not worth what you have to pay. customer service and the issues with them being with defender is not worth it what so ever. I even had police show to my home middle of the night informing me I had an active alarm, that never sounded. On top of all that the defender aka ADT rep who set me up told me monthly payments were such amount when received the bill it was different. I want to get away from both companies. If I had someone respond and possibly get a reimbursement for not having a system even connected but paying for a system my outlook would possibly be different but we'll never know since I never got any help. Look into vivint, or AAA before you make a final decision. read more

We have an ADT security system which includes the ADT pulse app enabling you to access the system remotely via smartphone. The system crashed on Monday February 4th. I immediately called ADT and set up an appointment for a tech to come to our home and diagnose. I was given an appointment for the following day with a window between noon and 5 PM. On Tuesday February 5th at 430PM I called ADT to make sure someone was still coming. I was assured that the technician would be arriving shortly. At 6 PM the tech had not arrived. I called again and was told by a different individual that the window had been created the previous day but the job had not been created. I have no idea what that means but needless to say I wasted an entire day waiting for these fools to no avail. I would pass on ADT. Lots of options out there. read more

This company is HORRIBLE! Do not use them im waiting for my refund from Oct 4, of $273 that i was told i would get back 10-14 days. Its the 10/22 still no refund. I called now they tell me Nov 1! Was not allowed to speak to a supervisor at all. So i txt Chase Bracco, the local ADT salesman here in modesto that originally took my $273 using high pressure sales techniques. Still nothing. You have been warned if your are even thinking about this shady company and their deceptive techniques, buyer beware! i had a appointment that i made in dec 2011 for today jan 21, 2012 from 8-12noon and they even called to make sure they were coming to my house. and you no what. i made sure i changed my whole day to make sure i was home. so i stay home and NOTHING NO CALL, NO ONE NEVER SHOWED. had adt for a long time until my partner died could not afford them no more had to cancel my service then about a year later the system started chirping all the time called them up and ask them what was going on and they said it needed to be charged or turned off and i asked them if they could send someone to turn it off for good and they said no because i was not an active member no more and i told them again why i wasn't just like i did when i canceled my service after my partner died and they still would not help me unless i signed with them again beware of adt they don't care they just want your money read more

Avoid ADT !!!!! I had a Camera System installed and the Resolutions Sucks!!!! I called Modesto Store and Cliff just gave me Lip Service . I disputed the Credit card Transaction. It seems they have so many Disputs that Bank Of America Credit Card referred me back to ADT Billing. Avoid them !!!! read more

I am having the worst experience ever with ADT. Most recently my panel started to malfunction and my alarm would sound every 4 to 6 hours. In contacting ADT, they were able to send a technician out but he was unable to fix the problem and needed to return the next day. In doing so, the alarm panel was disarmed to prevent it from sounding. The next day (Friday), the technician arrived and replaced the transmitter. Upon leaving, he stated that the problem was fixed and apologized for the any inconvenience this might have cause. Approx 1/2 after his departure, the alarm started sounding again. Immediately, I called the technician....no answer. The next call was to ADT and I was politely informed that they had not received any signal. So, I asked when was the last signal received from my home...and they stated, they hadn't received anything in months. So, they attempted to schedule another appointment for the following Thursday. Now, can you imagine my surprise? I have an alarm going off every 4 to 6 hours and they want to schedule my appointment for 6 days out. In speaking with them, I was instructed on how to disarm my system by unplugging the battery and disconnecting the transmitter. So, what is the point of having an alarm company monitor your home if you have to unplug the system? On Monday, I called to complain that the alarm was still going off and their service was unacceptable. During the call, I was informed that I had a scheduled appointment for that day yet, no one had called to confirm an appointment and if I hadn't called them....I would not have know. As I waiting for the technician, the alarm was still sounding as he arrived to my location. But, he politely informed me that "unfortunately" he didn't have the tools to fix my system and would need to contact ADT to have my panel replaced. The next call I received was from an ADT salesperson....trying to sell me on an upgrade. By this time, I was livid !!! How can you try to sell me a system because yours is malfunctioning? The sales person totally understood my situation and had a Manager return my call. The Manager called me back two days later and stated that he would get to the bottom of this and have a technician come out on Saturday to switch my panel. Guess what ??? On Saturday, a technician DID NOT show up and today I'm still getting the run around. What would you do? read more

Don't do business with Adt. If i could give negative star i would. We paid $99 and we were told will be refunded if we didn't do install. Technician came out I told him we wanted 3 outdoor cameras. He didn't say much. He proceeded to pull old alarm pad and said will sit down and discuss alarm plans. After testing some wires his supervisor by phone told me they don't do outside camera's due to a flaw with existing outdoor camera's. He said we may have outdoor camera's sometime at the 1st of the year. We refused and said will wait for outdoor camera's and to install all in 1 appt nxt yr. I asked technician to put back together what he pulled apart. He said sure. After putting keypad back wall i noticed the keypad light not on. I said hey its not powered on. Technician said I have to go outside to get a screwdriver. At this point he had a rolling bag of tools but i didn't say anything. Though that was odd he should have a screwdriver in bag. After a few mins I went outside and low and behold he took off. He took all pamphlets and phone contact info. I called Adt customer service and got the runaround that they don't work on other peoples alarm equipment even though they tore mine apart. went around in circles with these clowns even explaining technician took it apart but either broke it or didn't know how to put back together. Adt said we had and appt for install. That was incorrect. Why would they offer us our $99 back if we didn't commit to install. We got $ back. We went with a different alarm company that did a wonderful job on what we wanted. Bottom line adt just want your $ and be contracted for set amount of yrs. read more

ADT/safe streets web site goes down 1 to 2 times per week, when its down the cameras wont record anything. When I call the service number I get a recording with 3 options but none that I want. cant talk to a person if I press 0 they say sorry invalid option and hang up on me. had to call the billing dept got a person but she was rude. still having same problem with their web site going down at times. have already called them about this 3 times have only had this service for 3 Months and am still having same problems . I'm paying over $200.00 per Month for this and I cant rely on it to work 100% of the time. at least once or twice a week the web site freezes up it wont load up just keeps spinning trying to load the site finally it says (sorry site is under maintenance or is over loaded try again later) mean while my cameras and security system isn't working while its doing this. I do NOT recommend ADT/safe streets home security to anyone. read more
