I would like to recognize the Assistant Manager of the Clairemont branch, Ms. Kim Do, for her…read moreinitiative in finding a solution to my difficulty in depositing the proceeds of a federal iBond into my Mission Fed Checking Account. Without recounting the frustrating details of dealing with the federal government, suffice it to say that the form I had to fill out required the signature of an "authorized certifying officer" and there was some ambiguity as to the definition of that term. Ms. Doe was advised that Mission Fed could not sign the form because it only certifies internal documents. Now came Ms. Do to the rescue. On her own, she Googled the federal form that needed the signature and discovered that the certifying officer could certify a "signature guarantee" and that Mission Fed could do that. We met later that day. I completed the form and she signed it affixing the Mission Fed Signature Guarantee stamp. Ms. Doe went above and beyond the information she was given and found a suitable solution to my dilemma. Her efforts were consistent with the helpfulness and professionalism I have typically encountered at the Clairemont Branch of Mission Fed.

Paid every car payment on time including the final pay off which about half of my normal payment…read more Then received a letter from them saying I owed them $2.13 that was 11 days past due and they would be sending it for collection and reporting a late payment. I wasn't late, had never been asked for that residual amount, and sent payment as soon as I received the letter. The $2 should have been included in my pay off amount and because they never asked for it until it was "past due" is their incompetence. But reporting the payment as late is unforgivable. I'll never use them again!

During my conversation with the rep from the fraud department,, I went over the details on how I felt robbed with the way CA Coast allowed this money to be stolen from my account. They have agreed to return my money as no National bank wants to be blasted in a negative way on Social Media. I am happy that my issue was resolved however I feel that if I didn't post a negative review for all yelpers to read, my money would never have been returned. It is sad that I had to voice my opinion publicly. I am still standing by my opinion that CA Coast needs to improve their security features. When any large withdrawals are taken out of somebody's account, the owner of the account should receive a text to authorize the transaction BEFORE the money is released. My money was stolen from an Islamic Country. CA Coast should have flagged this transaction BEFORE releasing the funds. Fraud is rising daily . I have done everything on my end to prevent this from happening again. The sad reality is every time we pay a bill, make a purchase or swipe a card, there is a thief somewhere trying to steal our cash. The people we bank with also need to do their part and step up their security features.

I debated over giving this bad review, but the way we were treated was very poor. We were helped by a woman named Rochelle and she assisted us in opening an account and applying for a product. There were multiple times where she made degrading comments on our income. She wasn't knowledgable or seemed to have our best interest in mind when we expressed concern. We felt incredibly uncomfortable and disrespected. I hope she doesn't make any one else feel less and changes her demeanor towards customers. It's not hard to be kind. Avoid this branch if you could, or at least if you can help it, this teller.
