At worst, con men and fraudster and at best...simply incompetent. The office mgr., Ms. Brandt, tried but she was held back by her bosses. They expose my personal data including VINS, credit cards, addresses, and all he personal data one can see when they are going to get a policy. Literally, I had to file a police report and it wasn't the first time with State Farm. They must of thought that at my age I would forget what card I charged the transaction to and so they attempted to keep the money. Also Mr. Ralph Pes***** of Ehrenburg, AZ was completely exposed to their mistake. I soon clicked on to my own account only to discover the same information belonging to him now was there for my taking. I phoned him and warned him of a possible attempted theft. I was nearly two weeks out from the inception of the policy and still have seen any attempt to return the money. What is bad about these creeps is that the agency owner or the the man who issued the policy had the courage to call me. They are spineless and with little character. read more

If they had zero star, that would be my choice. I first bought insurance with this agency about three months ago. They gave me an estimate that was inline with others. The first problem I had was getting a proof of insurance printout which took over a week. Then, two days before my next payment was due (and expiration) I had to call both days and beg Michael Trammel to get it done and avoid a lapse. Whew! Close call. Next month, I went on the app to make a payment and my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw my payment for the month had MORE THAN DOUBLED!!! When I called Michael to discuss this, he avoided my call and I was shuffled off to his compadre Tommy, who went on bs me on the "intricacies" of insurance, and the accident I had early last year, which, "would drop in a year". I explained I could not afford what he offered and asked for my coverage to be lowered, to which he told me he would "take it upstairs" and get back to me. So, I wound up calling this agency 5-6 times over the past month, finally asking for a manager, (Alex), who promised to look into it and get right back to me which was a lie, because he still hasn't called me back, and my policy expires next week. I've been calling around and gotten some good quotes, and I'm reading the reviews now. You will do yourselves a big favor by not doing business with these people. Trust me when I tell you this is generous! My issues with Luke Dix and his crack team of employees goes back several years now. In fact they messed up so badly on my account that the owner, Luke Dix called me, gave me his personal cell, and took care of me. Because he seemed so genuine about things, I agreed to continue with Luke. Then they started getting complacent again, and again things were not done on my account that should have been done and once again, he was apologizing and thanking me for my patience. This continued for awhile and then all of a sudden Luke stopped responding. Of course this was after he promised me "something" super nice to thank me and give back to me since I was told one thing and charged another. He alluded yo a gift card and all of this should be hush hush since it's illegal what he was doing. Well, guess what, the "thing" never arrived, why??? Get this after years of being with them, and giving them my address change, he didn't know my new address. I got mail from State Farm, I got my bills from State Farm, so why is it that "He"didn't know it. When I texted him and told him I hadn't gotten anything and checked to see where he sent it, he never responded to my text with my address. Crickets. Fast forward and I get an email from someone at his office saying my Texas license has expired and they needed my new license. What?!?!? I have had my California license for 4 years and gave them my California license at least 3 1/2 years ago. Again, why do they not know this??? So, o called and spoke with Teresa in early December. We went over my renters insurance, because I'm Being charged for something he told me was included in my policies. So she assured me she would speak with Luke and he would get back to me. Have I heard from him??? Nope, not a thing. So, I'm Sure you can see where 1 is being generous! Of course they make us leave a 1, which is why I did. This office is ridiculously incompetent. I have had so many unanswered phone calls, been charged for someone else's policy, promised I had additional coverage only to find out from corporate that I don't. They weren't honest about the rate hike for a minor fender bender and increased our rate from $199 a month up between $150 and $200 more A MONTH depending on what they feel like charging each month. They said it would go back to $199 in 8 months. It hasn't. It hovers at $300ish....again, depending on what they want to charge, I've learned that each company charges what they want so this weekend I'm looking at new insurance before I meet with this office on Monday and probably cancel all 4 of my policies with them forever. read more

I have insured with State Farm for several years now and have lived in several states throughout the US, due to my work. As a result, I feel I'm in a special position to compare different insurance companies in different states throughout the years. Currently I'm insured with the State Farm office in Oceanside and have mostly dealt with Edgar with different types of insurance. From the moment you walk into the office, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. Edgar listened to my requests and in return gave us a great rate on auto and home insurance and he's been available to answer all my questions with a friendly and knowledgeable demeanor. I would recommend Edgar to all of my friends and family. He has excellent follow-thru and really cares about our needs and his responsibilities as our agent. I switched from Mercury Insurance to Luke Dix State Farm. I was surprised the insurance rate was very comparable. Yes State Farm charges more. I've been fortunate no tickets and knock on wood no accidents. I've read articles on underinsured drivers and realized it's a gamble not having higher limits. I spoke with Joe, Nick and Luke they educated me on the risks of not increasing my limits, taught me about umbrella policies and condo unit owner policies. With the combined discounts I ended up paying around $25 a month more than I was paying. But I have the umbrella and a higher limit on my auto comprehensive and collision. I use the State Farm app on my phone and home computer to keep my records up to date. I was made aware State Farm is upgrading their software. So I try to pay special attention to my statements. I know switching clients information on a company mainframe as large as State Farm's may have some glitches and a learning curve for the employees. read more

As of this writing, there are three 1-star reviews. They sound very accurate based on my experience. I'd be skeptical of the 5-star reviews. How many of those say anything about needs after they got their policy? They are very happy to get their policy, but how many of them have made a claim? I was with this agent for almost 6 years. Until about a year ago, I only saw a couple red flags which I dismissed. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. The big red flag came when I moved and needed an address change. I have three policies (auto, rental, and business). When I was moving, I called to have the address changed on these policies. They said that they would take care of it. Nothing happened. So, I tried to change it online. That worked for I think just one address, so I had to call them again. They once again said no problem. Nothing happened. I call them again. They once again said no problem and they actually managed to change one of the addresses. Eventually I get them to change the third policy mailing address, but of course there is another problem it took me awhile to pick up on. I'm self-employed and work from home. My business location is home. It took quite awhile to get them to change the address for this policy, but it turns out they only changed the mailing address, They left the business location as my old address. I called them many times about this. Each time they said they would call me back and rarely did. Each time they said it was changed and it wasn't. Nine months passed since I moved and tried to change my address. Nine months of trying to get them to do a simple address change and they never managed to do it. I talked to at least three people, so I can't lay the blame on one incompetent person, rather the entire office or a large majority of it seems to be incompetent. Now I'm thinking to myself, if they can't handle a simple address change after nine months of asking them to do it, how are they going to handle a claim? I shudder to think of it. I, of course, decided to move my policies to another office. The office I wanted to move to said they preferred I request the office change through my current office so as not to step on their toes. I was doubtful, but gave it a shot. I called many times. Each time I was told I'd be called back and wasn't. Each time I was told the policy transfer was happening and it wasn't. Next I try to get the policy transferred through the new office. They sent an official request. This produced a single voicemail from the Luke Dix office asking me to call back to discuss with them. I called several times, mostly not getting an answer. Those times I did get an answer, they said they said that the person I needed to talk to was on the phone or in a meeting and she would call me back. She never did. So, I worked with my new office more to get the policy transferred. They said they'd handle it. One month later, Luke Dix still had my policy. My new office was having problems getting it from them. It appeared to me that the Luke Dix office was holding my policies captive. After much prodding, my new office gave me a phone number that would let me go over my policy holder's head and remove the policy from them. The person I got a hold of gave me an email address where I simply had to send some of my policy information and make a formal request to change the policy holder. They said it would take 5-7 days. During these 5-7 days I suddenly got an email from the Luke Dix office asking why I wanted to change my policy to another office. That apparently got their attention. Happily, at the end of the 7th day, I was free. My policy has finally been transferred out of their hands. It has now been a little over 11 months. That's 9 months where the Luke Dix office couldn't handle a simple address change and almost 2 months to pry my policies from their grasp. If you are considering Luke Dix, I would strongly recommend looking for other options. If they currently hold your policies, you might consider fleeing while you still can. read more

Where do I begin, so when my husband and I signed up for state farm, this office was amazing. Partly why Im still with them now. But ever since we bought a new vehicle in June of this year, getting them to comply with our bank is nearly impossible. So, when we first bought our vehicle this year, I personally walked into this office and spoke with Edgar. He took down all of our information and made sure everything was updated. Our address, our new vehicle that we added, plus we got the student driver discount. I had to give them a copy of my transcripts, which I personally handed to edgar. I called my bank today to make a payment on my vehicle and it nearly doubled. I asked them why and they said that they had to add insurance to the vehicle because they tried to get in contact with this office and they weren't complying with my bank. The lady told me that normally when the bank gets the information from the insurance company, they are supposed to have a conference call with them and thats it. Well, this office decided to tell my bank that they would fax them their information (Keep in mind, i gave all this information to EDGAR) and State Farm didn't fax them anything. So thats why i needed insurance on my payment. Ive called them numerous time (both my bank and this office) Plus I've walked in and talked to edgar myself and they still don't have the correct information on file. When i asked the agent over the phone if they had my transcripts on file, which was back in june, they were no where to be found. When I asked them who they had as the lien holder on my other vehicle, they had the wrong information. i also updated my address with edgar in person and when i asked the agent over the phone where my current insurance cards were, she said that i had an old address on file.......... WHY when i updated in person with an agent there named edgar!!! Ive been having to jump through hoops because State Farm doesn't want to do their job correctly, not only me but my bank has tried to give them the information countless of times. If you do decided to sign up for state farm and happen to be at this office, do not talk to edgar because clearly he doesn't do his job correctly!
