Incompetent staff. It shouldn't take two months to replace a debit card and four months for credit card. I've visited this branch on four different occasions trying to fix this issue and updating/correcting my address (after the first time) and they sent it to a different address and lost in shipment. Additionally sharing my routing number to different venders. I'd highly recommend to visit another branch this staff cannot help you. read more

I visited this Chase branch to help my father open a new account for his existing trust. I had full Power of Attorney and all required paperwork. The initial approval took three business days plus a weekend. Once approved, the soonest available appointment to sign was another full week later. This is not a minor inconvenience. My father is a paraplegic on hospice, and getting him physically into a branch is extremely difficult. After his second near-death experience in a single month, I went into the branch to ask if there was any way to reasonably expedite the process. I spoke with Taylor Glassel, who told me the only solution would be a notary. She then proudly stated she was a notary, but she got off work at 1:00 pm. It was 12:30 pm. She claimed she called around town, said no one else could help, and ended the conversation with "good luck." That same night, my father had another near-death episode and survived. Because the paperwork was already approved, I brought him into the branch a few days early to ask for an accommodation given the circumstances. Instead, I was met by the branch manager, Ambrose Torres, whose behavior was shockingly rude and dismissive. Rather than listening, he confused my father by asking, "Do you even want a trust?" My father understandably said "no," because he already has a trust and was simply opening an account under it. Mr. Torres then said, "Then we'll cancel your appointment." He followed that by asking my father if he had a will, and when my dad said yes, Mr. Torres shrugged and said, "Then you should be good." This was said to a man on hospice, in a wheelchair, while I stood there trying to manage his end-of-life finances responsibly. We returned today just to close the account. That alone took over an hour. There were about 12 people waiting in line. We were told we had to wait until the manager returned from lunch. Even the teller openly agreed with me when I said this place was terrible. This was not just poor service. It was inhumane, dismissive, and deeply unprofessional. I would strongly recommend avoiding this branch entirely, especially if you are dealing with sensitive family, medical, or trust-related matters. read more

Hello, During December 2024, my father spent over an hour with a banker to move a rollover IRA to a different account. Two months later, an AVP banker at a different location notified us that the rollover request was rejected and that the banker that made the error was notified. The AVP banker confirmed that the banker that made the error never called my father to try to correct the issue. This is becoming an ongoing thing everytime I enter their locations. I get promoting online and everything...but there is still some stuff that requires entering the bank at times. This chase location is awful. Tellers are unhelpful and uncooperative. No public restrooms for customers who bank at chase regularly. I would give zero stars to this branch if I could. I am disgusted by their negligence and blatant disregard for banking policies and procedures. My roots come from banking. I was a teller for many years at both a bank and a credit union so I know their rules extremely well. My husband went into this branch to deposit a CHASE WRITTEN CHECK into our CHASE ACCOUNT. Mind you, being it was written on a CHASE CHECK, we could have cashed it, but my husband wasn't aware of that rule. Anyways. It's now day 5 that almost $2200 is unaccounted for. I'm on day 5 of multiple calls to chase, multiple trips into the branch, countless texts between his employer (who wrote the check), and I'm over it. The money has LEFT the employer's CHASE BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT, mind you. Negligence. Blatant negligence. How can someone be so unaware of the fact if you go into the bank the check is written on, you can get hard cash for it without any questions asked?! This is my husband's employer, verified when we reopened this checking account. It's on the application. Disgusting. This is a great training moment for the individuals at Chase bank off Oceanside Blvd and I'll make sure to be the one to teach it when I go in to close the account. Shame on you, Chase bank. I opened an account today with Cynthia Posey and wanted to highlight how fantastic she was. She was very friendly, helpful and patient and incredibly personable. I've never written a review about a bank before but she deserves to be highlighted as an outstanding employee of Chase Bank. She is a tremendous asset to the company and I would recommend anyone to see her personally if they want to open an account with Chase. During our interaction a customer interrupted us very rudely and she handled it like an absolute pro. She demonstrated a lot of professionalism without making me feel like my time wasn't valuable. I had my baby with me and he was getting restless towards the end but she was so friendly and kind and even held him for me while I was filling out the paperwork. Came here to conduct business with the chapter association that I'm on the board for. The employee who assisted us was nice and conducted our transactions to the best of her ability. Although she wasn't well versed regarding our situation, she attempted to assist us in every way she could. She did fail to tell us some valuable information pertinent for signing over the signature card. We had to get some paperwork notarized, and we had to take our documentation to a notary public. That was an inconvenience, but a couple of the board members went to complete that transaction. As soon as that was completed, our transaction was processed. Total time was a little over an hour, which should have taken about 30 mins tops. read more

I liked this place a whole lot better when it was WAMU. They had the cool set up where there was a circle of teller counters and when you'd walk up to them, it was a nice personal experience. Was a little goofy though that when you'd make deposits, they'd stuff an envelope and then stuff that in a cubby hole on the counter top; I guess they'd pick up those deposits after open banking hours. At the same token, if you were receiving money, you'd get a receipt and then go to a little money machine that would issue money out. But now all that's gone and it's back to the "us vs them" set up of a row of tellers facing a line of customers, since Chase took over. And since then, I've had to get a few debit cards as they seem to keep changing them over, one reason being a switch from MasterCard to Visa. Also, they are starting to really find ways of hitting with fees and will charge for more than 4 transactions with your savings account. That's 2 below the Federal Government's instructions, which is a stupid policy anyways! What does it matter that we transact 1 time or 20 times. It's our money and all this stuff is automated now anyways! As a pro, the ATM machines are now nicer than they were as WAMU and can do several different types of transactions; no doubt so they can hit you with even more fees! As a former WAMU customer where I'm used to relatively free banking, I think as a whole, Chase has taken things downhill to where I'm moving to a credit union. May not be as convenient, but at least they still remember my money is mine, not theirs to loan out at a 9:1 lending scheme like they do now! read more

I was able to make an appointment with a different banker at the Chase on Mission Ave the following week, and and using the exact same documents was able to complete the Signature Guarantee process with no issues, and had a great experience more on par with what I would expect from Chase. Not sure why there is such a discrepancy in service/professionalism, but I will be visiting the Chase on Mission Ave for all future Chase banking needs and recommend others do so as well (and avoid the branch on Oceanside Blvd). Raul Chavez at the Chase on Oceanside Blvd needs some assistance in professional development and a refresher on Chase document policies. read more

As with the other customer, I miss WaMu. Along with the inviting teller set up, they had a neat little play area for the kids. It was a pleasure going in there.... Thats all gone now. There also used to be a box where you could make deposits without waiting in line - also gone. I tried to get an ATM card - TWICE. The first time I went into the bank and sat down with someone- got it all set up and the card never came. After waiting about 2 weeks I finally called and had another one sent. The card came a few days later, but the pin number never did. Again, I had to sit down and get it set up. More time wasted in a place I hate as much as the DMV. On another note, I was below the $300 minimun by $15 earlier this summer - my bad. Replenished the $$ the next day and at the end of the month, they took out another $5 which again put me under the limit so I put another $5 in again. This went on thru the summer. By the time I called Chase about this I was pretty steamed. All I could get them to do is stop the next charge of $5 they were going to take out at the end of the month. Also, last time I was forced to stand in line there, I noticed there were some signs that were in all spanish and NO English. A huge turn off!!! For the life of me I cannot understand why an American business would alienate the English speaking majority to please the few who refuse to learn English-unfortunately it seems this is the way the country is going these days. The parking at this particular branch also stinks. Small, busy, hard to back out of, tiny spaces, etc.... This is the most disorganized, greedy, GLOBALIST bank I have ever dealt with. (JP Morgan was one of the founding fathers of the Federal Reserve.) If I didn't get the free business checking, (grandfathered in from WaMu) I'd have been outta there in a heartbeat! I opened up my business account at this location almost 2 years ago and although I'm a long time checking account holder and this is my first business, I found the whole experience smooth and interesting. My only gripe was when choosing a rewards program I could not get a solid answer and then about a year ago chase completely revamped or rather did away with the rewards program. I rarely come here except to deposit checks, so I have very little contact with the tellers or business department. The location is newer and easily visible, but what gets me is the parking lot. Been here twice now and here is my take on the place. The location is conveniently located and has great street access. Coming into this location you can tell right away it's very clean, neat and organized. The staff is friendly and easy to deal with. The only issue I had was the customer service over the phone not giving me the correct details ahead of time. I my overall wait time was the only real issue while phone calls were made and stamps were stamped. It was overall an average bank that I am used too, nothing above or beyond that makes it stand out from the rest. read more

I've been banking with Chase for several years and was originally impressed with their customer service. This branch has the worst customer service I have seen at almost any bank. The managers apparently need to have meetings daily at whatever time I happen to stop in. And the meetings are more important than a customers problem because they refuse to interrupt. They are unable to answer questions and really don't care if they lose customers. We are looking for a bank that cares about their customers. read more

We just wanna have a preapproval to buy a house so we came to this Chase on Saturday and they said we gotta have an appointment with a mortgage loan officer. They scheduled us at 1pm in following next Saturday. We came to the branch but turned out the office wasn't there . After receiving many robotic unidentified phone messages, I was able to trace it to Chase using my personal phone number to contact a grandson. Several times I asked them to respect my personal number and not harass me with repeated phone calls. My grandson had an unexpected phone bill arrive after placing the phone on off status. The $41.00 charge became $86.93 with bank fees. After yet another attempt to stop the robotic calls, I spoke with "Cliff" who told me "Chase repetitive calls to me are not harassing, they were not solicitation and therefore not qualified for FTC protection." Cliff's manager Maxine, was really not interested in customer service and offered none. My grandson and I went to the local branch as above and asked to speak with the manager, "Cindy" Yes, another Chase employee not in the least bit interested in Customer Service. her monotonic "Uh Huh" responsse showed major disinterest. Perhaps after 25 years of service with Morgan Stanley Chase, she has Peter Principled. I paid off the $86.93 after Cindy refused to reconsider any of the added on charges, we closed out the account and will look for a Credit Union.
