You can't get a better experience at a garage than what you'll find at Gus's Advance Auto Care. I've brought my car(s) here for four years now after a coworker recommended it. Car maintenance is a huge effort for me, to say I don't enjoy it is a huge understatement. Going to Gus and his exceptionally helpful team for my repairs and regular vehicle conditioning makes this chore SO much easier -- and I'll even go as far as to say I enjoy having my car serviced now that I visit this place. Gus and his service crew are always friendly and they are the only car repair shop I've found to be genuine and honest about work that needs to be done and costs that go along with it - every project Gus has done for me I've felt was fairly priced. Even though I no longer live in the area, I still drive 20 minutes to come back because I know this place is somewhere I can trust with people who care about the work they do. I've taken my car to Advance Auto Care twice before today - once for an inspection and once to have my alternator replaced. I went there today just to get a diagnosis because my car's engine didn't sound right when I was running errands in the area - my car was running rough. Gus and one of the mechanics took in my car within minutes, and I was offered a ride home by the receptionist while they looked over my car. Within 20 minutes, I had the answer: my car needed new spark plugs and maybe coils as well.I gave them the go ahead to complete the work and, with an hour or so, my car was ready to go with just the spark plug replacement completed. In both instances of repairing my car, Gus has proven to me that he is honest and a good person. He doesn't look to perform unnecessary jobs when there's an issue, which may be why his lot is always filled with his customers' vehicles. read more

I will only let Gus and his mechanics work on my truck. He was able to diagnose the issues I was having with my truck when no one else could! I took my truck to the Dodge dealership on multiple occasions regarding a banging noise I kept hearing and they could not identify the problem. Gus took a ride with me and figured out what it was after hearing it only one time. He has also taken care of both my front and back brakes then when one of the pads was faulty, he re-serviced it under warranty without any additional cost to me. I've been going to Gus and his great team for about 5 years now since moving to the area. He has done everything from oil changes and inspections on our family's two cars to helping me resolve bigger issues with brakes, mufflers, tires, and engine problems. Gus is extremely honest and trustworthy. Some mechanic shops charge you just to look at a car. Gus doesn't do that. There have been times when he hasn't charged me because my car wasn't showing the symptoms I described while at his shop. More often than not however, Gus will diagnose the issue and have it resolved in a timely fashion at an affordable price. He is a car doctor for sure! Not only am I happy but I have complete and total trust in Gus and his staff. As a former gear head whose no longer has time to work on his vehicles and finds it hard to trust somebody to work on my vechicles, I can now relax having complete and total confidence in Gus and his crew. I brought my 4 wheel drive truck in for a repair, they did the work in a timely manner for a fair price. Sometime after the repair the replacement part failed, I brought the truck back in, not only did they replace the part immediately, but when I offered to pay something toward the labor they refused to accept payment and said they stand by their repairs. I've been going to this place for the past couple years and I have nothing bad to say except excellent service. Gus the owner and the workers there are excellent. They only perform what needs on the car not like any other places if you're a woman walked in a shop don't know nothing about car then the mechanic try to tell you that you need a all kindda stuffs etc. Therefor if you (women) need to find a good trust worthy shop and service I highly recommend to go here. I needed an Annual Inspection (NYState) for my wife's 7-year old Mercedes GLK, but first a minor repair was required. We called first, and Gus told us to come right over to their new location on Pulaski Road. They performed the minor repair, then did the inspection.
