Long post... On 11/21/2025, my 2018 Hyundai Tucson was towed…read moreto Hyundai after two separate mechanics ran diagnostics and confirmed the issue was Hyundai-related. I was advised that even if the throttle body was repaired elsewhere, I would still be required to return to Hyundai for a necessary engine code. During Thanksgiving week, I received a text stating a full diagnostic had been completed. I was informed there were six issues, including the catalytic converter and throttle body, along with four minor maintenance items (tires, oil filter, etc.). I approved the throttle body repair at a cost exceeding $1,500 and was told I could address the catalytic converter at a muffler shop. On 12/3, I was explicitly told that once the catalytic converter was replaced, the check engine light would turn off. This information was incorrect. The catalytic converter was replaced. On 12/4, while on my lunch break, I was stranded and forced to return to Hyundai because the throttle body code remained unresolved. I was informed that addressing the issue would require more than 45 minutes, despite this being a known problem. That same day, my vehicle would not accelerate and became completely inoperable, leaving me stranded. My father had to intervene and assist. He indicated the issue could be a system glitch or a faulty throttle body. Later on 12/4, I drove the vehicle to my child's school and to work with no immediate issues. However, when attempting to take my child to a doctor's appointment, I was stranded again. My mother assisted, and I contacted Hyundai, where I was told to bring the vehicle in immediately. After 30-45 minutes, the vehicle began moving again, and I rushed it to Hyundai. I remained at the dealership from 2:30 PM until after 6:00 PM, only to be told that the issue involved tightened battery terminals, that I might need an oil change, and that there was a concern related to a CVV valve. This explanation was unacceptable and inconsistent with prior diagnoses. I contacted a former Hyundai employee, who advised that under these circumstances, a motor replacement should already be under consideration. I again required transportation home and repeatedly called for updates, only to be told someone would call me back. On 12/11, I was informed Hyundai needed to consult with an engineer. On 12/12, I received a text stating that my vehicle needs to be rewired. I responded clearly that I do not believe Hyundai knows what they are doing, and that I will not pay for additional issues that continue to be discovered due to improper diagnosis. I demanded that the vehicle simply be fixed correctly. On 12/16, while hospitalized, I received another text stating that Hyundai understands my frustration and is "following Hyundai procedure." This response is unacceptable given the circumstances. As of 12/18/2025, this has been the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. I have no trust in Hyundai, I do not believe the vehicle has been properly diagnosed, and I still do not have my car after weeks of misinformation, incomplete repairs, repeated breakdowns, and being stranded multiple times. As of 12/30/2025 still no updates on my car!!! I NEED MY CAR FIXED!!!!
