Even though I told them it was an old battery and I needed a jump start before I came here, they still wanted to test it first. I was told, they had many people with battery issues. And it was not necessarily the battery, but everybody's cars were just sitting during the quarantine. So why do you want to pay $100 something if it could be a cheaper fix. I can get wiper blades, car batteries, head lights, engine belts, etc. Everything I need, although most of the real stuff is behind the counter. Quite a few specialty tools available for rent (I would never have gotten that belt tight enough without their tensioner). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Store is well lit and clean. I even acquired Christmas presents here the year when everyone's stocking received a car emergency window hammer with seat belt cutter (one of those gizmos that if after an accident, you can't open a car door or escape from your seat belt, the tool will save the day and probably your life).

I brought my car in for oil chg and tire rotation 3 days ago. I asked them to check my…read moretransmission as it was acting funny. Dont think they checked it. When we left we got about a mile down the street and the car died, would not start. Goodrich sent a mechanic who jumped me a couple times to drive a little further but never got more than half a mile. He said the was going to the shop to get a batteray and replace the old one as that could be the problem. Needless to say it started up and we finished driving back to the shop. They charged me $274.00 for the new battery. 2 days later I brought it in to my dealer asking them to check my transmission as the car was still acting strange. They called me today to tell me the transmission was fine and a new alternator is what I needed. The one in the car was about dead, the new battery was keeping it alive. He said that was why it was acting funny because the dying alternator did not have enough power to run the care correctly. So my trip for an oil chg etc cost me $92.00, and the battery $274.00 at Goodyear. Had they checked the battery and alternator like say they do they would have found the problem. They always say the check everything...they said they reset the mileage for oil change on dash after I asked and they did not. How can I believe they do everything I brought the car in for? The cost an the dealer is anothe $327.00 for alternator & labor plus $247.00 for diagnostic fee. Looks like I am out $875.00. Maybe I did not need a new battery, it was their word.... I had stopped going to Goodyear in Kenner on 32nd St for a while and decided to go back a few months ago....but after this episode I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I will go to Firestone, they are closer to my house. So please people, make sure the diagnosis is correct on your vehicle from Goodyear if you go there for serivce...and ask all the questions you want to . I was able to get it done the next day and they were so chill with the drop off time which I appreciated bc I'm not a morning person at all. I was really impressed by the communication throughout the day but unfortunately, the communication was expensive lol. The quote was $160-200 and it was $415 at the end of the day. The original subwoofers were blown so I had to get 2 used ones they had ($50 x 2) and an extra something that ended up being a cool separate knob to control the bass. I opted for a mid range one ($50). They stayed open longer than the closing time so I could pick it up, SAME DAY. Long story short..... double the quote price but I LOVE THE WAY IT SOUNDS!

Thankfully I caught it in time to quickly clean up the mess with a carpet cleaning product in my home. I will still recommend their services but some attention to detail would improve the service. No excuse for this kind of oversight and sloppiness. EDIT 5/11/18: I'm happy to report that the owner has reached out to me with an offer to fully detail my vehicle after the stains were left during the installation of the window tint. I politely declined as it was no longer necessary but the offer and courtesy itself was impressive to me. The owner also pointed out that this was an isolated incident and it does not fit within their quality standards.

Wanted to sell me a new battery because the starter was bad, said that's how they do business even though the battery was checked by AAA as fully charged and was less than a year old! Learned a lesson I will always ask in future repairs what does my brakes have to do with the malfunctioning starter? Seems repair shops always find other reasons to make repairs not related to what the auto was brought to the shop for. I will not go there for a repair again! My mistake was approving the brake job!
