This is Advance Auto Parts store #6840. It's located in the Skyland Shopping Center, next door to Family Dollar, at the fairly busy intersection of Clairmont Road and Buford Highway. This store may not look like much, especially when compared to other, newer Advance Auto Parts stores, but it came through for me when I was looking to replace some interior light bulbs for my car. The Advance Auto Parts store near my home in Midtown was out of one of the two bulbs I needed. I was able to find both in-stock at this location. I got a set of 2 Sylvania bulbs for my AC control panel (model #2721, $4.99) and 2 Sylvania festoon bulbs for one of my dome lights (model #6418, $5.99). Like other Advance Auto Parts stores, this one was nicely organized. I was able to find both bulbs myself and was in and out in a matter of minutes. I replaced both bulbs in my car in the parking lot and made sure they worked before I left. To prevent theft, some of the more expensive bulbs (e.g. headlight bulbs) are kept behind the counter. You have to pick up a card from the aisle and exchange it for the actual bulbs at the counter. It's like how in the 80s and 90s, you would have to pick out a slip of paper and turn it in at the counter for a Nintendo game at Toys "R" Us. read more

I came to this store on Clairmont to purchase a replacement Diehard battery for my car. I had come from Advance on Cheshire Bridge that did not have the battery in stock. Keep in mind that I was driving across town and had to keep jumping the car and was desperate for a replacement battery. When I walked in, a very rude woman with a clipboard (named Sonya) walked from the aisle to behind the counter. She was not dressed like an employee with any Advance markings. She asked what I wanted. I explained that I needed a replacement battery and that Cheshire Bridge was out. she configured the sales screen and noticed the time needed might be 30 minutes. she told me she could sell me the battery, but no one at her store could install it. She said because it listed 30 minutes, that it needed to be 'professionally installed' and was not eligible for the FREE INSTALL. she said I could buy the battery and go down the street and PAY to have another mechanic to do the install. She had at least 4 employees in the store and very few customers at the time. The Diehard is already twice as much as what I paid 4 years ago, so I definitely couldn't add additional expenses to the purchase. I told her that it's a simple install, so she sent two of her employees to look at my car. My bracket has three mounting screws plus the terminals. The employees went back in to ask for permission and she declined. I purchased the battery anyway, hoping I could convince someone to install it. The receipt that printed had a giant white streak down the middle and was practically unreadable. I will NOT go to this Advance any more. The several signs offering battery installation both inside and outside of the store are purely decorative. Instead of the promised installation service I was supposed to receive with my battery purchase, I got junior trying to gaslight me into thinking that the battery technician doesn't work on my brand of vehicle. This is despite the fact that I watched the same exact tech (faultily) install the same battery a month ago. They will be kind enough to offer you a socket wrench and a single 10mm socket. You have to beg for the extender and additional sockets needed to actually make the swap yourself though. Luckily, I had company, because they treated the elderly woman parked next to me exactly the same, expecting her to remove and reinstall her own battery as well. Unless you are a trained mechanic, save the time and energy and go to O'Reilly or literally anywhere else. read more

I walked in there with my dog and the guy kicked me I'm out and said there's no dogs allowed and it's 90 degrees outside I needed some antifreeze i have never had an issue and my dog is a service dog and still got rudely kicked out do not waste you're time coming to a place with very mean rude people horrible ! read more

The employee Sonia was extremely rude. She just had a very nasty argumentative attitude from start. I left before even explaining the problem. Just decided to come back later to deal with another customer since I prefer my product there and had not received it yet. Dealt with Josh later and he was levels better than the Sonia. Still wouldn't recommend this location. Wish Josh the best however. read more

I had an issue at this location, but was very please the customer service I received resolving the issue. I had the battery in my car replaced at this location. Several days later my car would not start. With some help we discovered the employee that replaced the battery did not but my battery holder / "battery tie down" back on. Which caused my battery to move around while I drove (you all know how Atlanta streets are!) and caused the cables to loosen from the battery. I return to the store about this issue the next morning. There was one employee in the store. He came out and looked at the battery and looked on their "battery cart" for my missing pieces, but did not provide solution. I asked for a solution since my car had a battery tie down, the factory one when I got my battery changed. He was nice to me but made comments about how someone else should have changed the battery not the younger employee that was told to do it. He told me called the store manager who told him to look on the cart. I let him know I would follow up with someone at a higher level. I decided to call the customer service number on the website. They contacted the store to help resolve. They had the store manager call me. She asked for details about my care so she could find what battery tie down would fit. We set up a time for me to return to the store. She personally added the piece and ensured everything was corrected. She apologized about the issue and inconvenience. Even though it took a few extra steps on my part I appreciated how this was resolved and will continue to shop at this store. read more

My roommate and I came in for the smallest issue...replacing our car key battery! Seems like a nonissue, right? Wrong. Turned out to be a complicated matter, but never fear! Sonya and Dennis were there! They helped us find the correct battery and solve the puzzle that was our car keys! Neither were stressed or too busy for our silly complications! This particular Advance Auto Parts is located in the Skyland Shopping Center. I went in to have my car battery checked, and was helped by Stephen. He was training two new associates, but still made time to check my car battery. Stephen helped me buy a new car battery and also installed it in the roasting Atlanta sun. I had to wait a little longer, but he was courteous and apologized for the above-average foot traffic in this store. Overall, lovely experience at AAP considering that I'm a young Caucasian woman and have been frequently solicited at auto parts stores. read more

Just had to return an old battery because I couldn't change it out when I bought the new one. The lady at the desk was semi-nice but overall, I can't complain. She could have been nicer at first but near the end of the transaction she lighten up and was nice. read more

They've kind of let this place go over the years. It won't be the prettiest store but it's good enough as far as auto parts go. The employees are helpful, and more than willing to give you the free checks and tests that they offer. And I just like auto parts stores in general read more

Stop it advance to get some air freshener and some stuff to clean the inside of my truck at Advance at Clairmont and Dresden and I'm in the store roughly about 20 minutes at first when I get there there's just a young girl roughly about 18 behind the counter and I get my stuff and next thing you know little girl takes off in for about 15 minutes me and the guy in front of me we stand there and there's nobody behind the counter for at least 15 minutes being him start talking and I don't know who this guy was when the employees just went back in for helping a guy to come in there should always be somebody behind the counter you never leave the parts counter I mean there's all you cash registers wide open anyway little girl come back out that was out there regionally and she offered to help me I went over and bringing my stuff up yeah and at first I still kind of pissed I apologize to her tell her that I was kind of upset I didn't just put a ticket in Doraville I was like four hundred bucks and my main reason for being there was getting some air freshener and I apologized to her from that point forward we start talking and Beyond it but I apologized to her at first she had nothing to do with it I mean I could tell she was young and she's bringing me up and she couldn't figure out something she asked one guy and he walked off cuz he didn't know how to help her and then he walks over and tells her just say yes and he walks back off and we go back to talk in and out of nowhere this guy comes back up and just starts loud talk and screaming at me because I said something to him about nobody being behind the counter wish I was complaining to her the whole time and that's not the case I was not apologize to her for that and we were having conversation I told her I was there to get air freshener brand made by Emeril and she said Ozium I told her know I kind of got tired of it try something new change so just say when you get another ticket and she giggled and I don't know what this guy's deal was worst experience in my life I've been buying parts from advance for 30 years and I will never in my life spend another dime and I will go out of my way to tell everyone I meet not to buy parts from you and I belong to a hot rod Club up here in Commerce Georgia and I will make sure all my friends and all the shops around and even where I live in Auburn no longer by parts formula there's a very bad experience because your guy didn't do his job he thought it was okay to come back and yell at me and try to turn the tables or apologize to a little girl very sad will never ever buy anything from y'all again I've never in my life felt so violated why someone that wasn't doing their job I had to ask the gentleman to stop loud talkin me when he come over and he says I haven't seen loud talking yet feel very violated it's been a couple hours and I'm still upset about it I truly was verbally abused by this young man in that store read more

The improvement of Brookhaven has helped improve the customer service of this location. Previously the store was rough around the edges. Now the staff is more friendly and helpful than ever. read more
