If you're buying new windshield wipers here, MAKE SURE whoever sells them to you checks on your specific attachments and knows what they're doing! I purchased new wipers from Lloyd a few weeks ago. He recommended the most expensive wipers, but never checked my car to make sure they would fit. Lucky for me, Grant helped me out today. He was very careful to sell me the correct wipers with the right attachments, AND he even put them on my car for me! Grant was great and super helpful, friendly and efficient and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed. Because I opened one of the wipers Lloyd sold me, I couldn't return it, so I lost money on this transaction. But I'm still giving this place five stars, because Grant is just that good :) -- just be careful who you work with here... read more

"the manager" James stated that he doesn't value the prices on the shelves and would not be able to change it to the correct price. I came in this morning to get new brake pads. No one was at the front desk but this women in a hoodie walks straight past me, I'm thinking it's another customer. No, it's the attendant. She doesn't say anything just goes into one of the isles to do whatever so I wait there at the desk for so long I start to browse the ads for sales on the countertop. She slowly comes back and goes behind the desk but still says nothing and goes to the back... I wait a while longer and she's at another register staring at me and saying nothing until I say "oh so that register is open?". I walked out and rent to Autozone right down the street. This is Advance Auto Parts store #9621. It's conveniently located directly off I-20 at exit 60 - US 23 (SR 42 / Moreland Avenue). It's in the southern part of Atlanta's Edgewood neighborhood, just north of East Atlanta Village, in what some might consider the hood. For example, the businesses across the street have bars across their windows, the gas station next door has graffiti on it, and this store's property, such as their own vehicle(s) and graffiti-covered dumpster, are chain-link-fenced in. I visited on a weeknight and felt reasonably safe, but I'd probably direct my girlfriend to a different auto parts store if she were to go alone at night. I stopped by this store to pick up some coolant for my car. I needed a specific type of coolant, Pentosin Pentofrost SF, and brought my old bottle into the store so they could match it. Luckily, they had some in stock. I purchased a 1.5 liter bottle for $14.99 plus $1.33 tax (8.9%). $16.32 total. As I was rung up, the store's computer said the coolant had been discontinued. The same thing happened when I picked up the same coolant at the newer Advance Auto Parts store on Howell Mill Road about five months prior. I was one of only two customers in the store and was in and out in no time. Customer service was fine (they were able to find what I needed and rang me up quickly), but the staff was cold; not very welcoming or friendly. The store is on a small lot so parking is tighter and awkward when compared to most other auto parts stores. You may have to park down below in the back. read more

I love the guys at this location! I have been there a dozen times for various reasons, but mostly for parts for my lawnmower. I went there yesterday for a mower I was trying to get to work and the guys were so helpful. They hooked me up with the parts I needed and told me exactly what I needed to do. These guys go above and beyond and have done so every time I've been in. If you're brave enough to venture to the corner and Memorial and Moreland for your auto/mower needs, then this place will amaze you. I can't remember having such great customer service. Three stars for the selection and prices on the things I need to keep reinvigorating the old Honda that sits in my driveway as a project. Minus one star for bad parking lot design and the crowd that hangs out in said parking lot. It's pretty standard that any time I go and buy a part for my car, when I exit the store there are at least two guys from the junk shop across the street who ask if they can fix my car for me for some cash When I tell them I can handle it, the situation shifts into them asking if they can just have some cash since I don't need them to fix anything. If you have a hard time dealing with panhandling, or potentially being surrounded by three or four guys all asking to pop the hood and let them help you...I'd go elsewhere. It's tough to get past the extremely ghetto Moreland/Memorial facade but this Advance Auto Parts is pretty decent. The employees aren't the most knowledgeable people on earth, but what they lack in technical expertise is made up in hard work and great hospitality. I have been here many times and I have always gotten prompt customer service. I ventured to Advanced AutoParts to have my faulty battery replaced under the warranty from a previous purchase at a different location. Upon entry I was promptly greeted by Davis. He was eager to assist me with testing my battery to determine the next step. After defining that it needs to be replaced- I had to track down the original store of purchase. While I was on the phone with customer service going through the many prompts for 10 minutes- I felt so frustrated. Anthony came out and immediately took over with assisting me. I thought my battery was dead, Farinah did everything in her power to figure it out, then called 2 other employees (i dont remember their names, im sorry!), but unfortunately it wasnt the battery and i had to get a tow instead. Farinah even held onto my key so i didnt have to wait for the tow truck to arrive. My babys lunch time was coming up and she totally helped me out to not have a screaming/hungry toddler in a hot car for two hours. I set up a 2pm appointment for a routine six-month service for my 2015 model car. The employee was very nice and let me know how much to expect at the end of my service, so I gave them my keys and went up the street to grab some coffee. After an hour and a half, I went back to the Pep Boys location, and found that my car hadn't even been moved to the garage for servicing yet. I found the same employee and asked him when he expected my car to be in the shop, and he said fifteen or so minutes. When another twenty minutes went by, I walked into the shop and asked for my keys back. Not even touching my car an hour and forty minutes after the appointment time is just not acceptable by any means. By the way, this was a Wednesday afternoon. If they can't find the time on a normal weekday, I can't imagine how long the wait must be on weekends. read more

Store 9621 The management there needs training on what an appropriate level of customer service is. My online order was canceled without any prior notification before I could to pick it up. Mind you, the funds were already deducted from my bank. I'd called the day before stating "I'd be in to pick up the item on Sunday or Monday. My order was canceled Monday morning. The manager (a lady on dayshift) didn't seem to care that I'd spent $123 on the first battery and that I would have to purchase the same item again ($152 without the initial online discount) while I wait 5 days for the funds to be returned back to my account. We practically argued on the phone for 15 minutes. I will Never shop there again and will recommend no one I know to shop there Ever! This is a Prime example of how Bad management "Kills" business. read more

Complete BS. I hate to bash an Advance Auto because my local store is awesome, but this one dropped the ball badly and I'm not one to let things slide. A friend who lives in Kirkwood a few blocks away was having problems keeping her car running, I suggested she hit Advance for a battery/charging system test as I couldn't get down to look at it for a few days. They told her it was the alternator and ordered one for her, it wasn't a stocking item. We scheduled for this morning for me to come down and install it. Seemed simple enough. When I opened the box I was surprised at what I saw. The alternator in the box was a core unit, used, covered in 20yrs worth of grease and oil, in fact there was a nice little pool of oil in the box from where it had drained out from sitting for a while (the car it came from must have had a front crank seal leak). More than that though, it wasn't even the right alternator, after checking the number to my catalog this one was for a Lexus ES250, my friend drives an LS400 and had clearly told them that, in fact the guy who did the test would have to have seen the car as well. She got livid and called them, after a lot of confusion from the store they said they'd need to order another one, and it'd be another day. Not cool for her as she was supposed to have a buyer come look at it in the morning, not cool for me as I've already wasted one trip for nothing, and then after verifying it was wrong she called them back to find they'd need to track down the correct one and get back to her. So as of now we're in a holding pattern, one I could solve by just getting it from the local warehouse here, but she's already paid in full for one at this store. Must be a bunch of monkeys working here because it is not hard to order the right parts, nor is it hard to open a box before handing it over to the customer. My local store always does that, why can't they? It would suck for my friend to have to go to the shitty ass Autozone down the street from now on, but this might tempt her enough. read more
