I made this account solely to leave this review. I drove 30 minutes to pick up a specific part that the store said it had online. I even made an online pickup order which was confirmed. Come to find out after my 30 minute drive up there that they didn't have the part. And to top it off my cashier Maurice was extremely rude and acted like he a had a chip on his shoulder the whole time. I usually don't find myself here but I needed something to remove decal from my car. I found it without an issue. I was never acknowledged while in the store. I waited on the sales person to get back to the register and I could hear him telling another customer that he has other customers waiting. He finally arrived to the register not really pleasant at all. I said Hi, rather excitingly hoping to get a hi back or a simple thank you for waiting. All I received was a blank stare. I said, I'd like to purchase this. He checked me out silently and then didn't even give me a bag. I had to ask for a bag and then he acted as if it was unusual to bag things. This was an unpleasant experience. I noticed a hiring sign on the door. I hope the employee's hired are more enthusiastic, welcoming and has basic customer service skills. read more

Came here to get a new battery, it says right on their window that they replace batteries for free. I parked out front because I knew the car wouldn't restart after shutting off. Go in and get the battery and they refuse to replace it! They said they don't have enough employees! How is that MY problem?! Tried to start our SUV this afternoon and the battery was DEAD !! Wouldn't even turn over a bit. My husband took the battery and out and off to Advance Auto we went to see if we needed a new one. They provide free battery testing . After a quick test, they said the battery probably just needed charging. We hadn't driven the SUV in about 6 weeks so that made sense. They said they could do a 6 hour charge on the battery for NO CHARGE. WOO HOO !!! Hopefully it will charge up and we won't have to buy a new one. They were super helpful and their services can not be beat. Give them a try. They are great to answer any questions you may have concerning your car. read more

There is an auto parts store very near my place, and they do a pretty good job...but when I can drive my car out to this Advance Auto Parts store to get my problem resolved then I do. It is worth it. First of all of course they have a good selection of auto parts. The store is well maintained and clean, and easy to find what you need. However the main standout here for this AAP in Cary is the customer service. It is phenomenal on my experiences I've had. Not only do they sell you the part, they want to make sure you are ok with using or installing it, or even if you really need it at all. There have been times where I go there, and upon buying what I need for a small repair the person working says "Have you done this repair before yourself?" or "Want us to check it out first?" and that is usually followed with "Just bring it around front, let's check it out" or "I can actually do that for you." When you are in a hurry (coming by on your lunch hour, for example) or in a bind, that type of service goes a long way. That's why I will drive the extra miles to this location, because they always seem to go the extra mile for me. Bottom line: Top notch customer service in a clean and well stocked auto parts store. The staff have gone out of their way to make sure items are taken care of, and it keeps me coming back to this Advance Auto Parts location. read more

I'd recommend using this Cary store only to pick up your online orders or else to stay away. My car's battery failed, so I went there to check if it's still useable. The battery was less than a year old thus covered by a 3-year warranty. A store assistant told us, after trying to fast-charge my battery, it's not accumulating any at all. I requested the use of warranty, but the assistant said she can't find my info on their store's system, so if we wanted a new battery, we just have to buy a new one. She has red hair and gauges in ears. Very pale skin. I expressed frustration, and she gave the "what is this person's problem?'' gesture behind my back, according to my friend. The next day we tried Advanced Auto Parts in Western Blvd in Raleigh. The assistant there successfully charged the same battery and told us he's heard a lot of horror stories about the Cary store. In any case, we have confirmation from 2 different Advanced Auto Parts insiders that the Cary store should have respected the warranty no matter which store it was bought, if it was truly broken. Why waste customers' time and money? Unacceptable. Watch out, do not consult, they will lie to you. read more

This is a review for the one on Glenwood... I needed some oil in leiu of a full on change, so decided to go here since I spotted it before Auto Zone. It was very early, so the store was pretty much empty. I was unsure about which type of oil to purchase for my car since I'd never tampered with the oil myself. The young man was extrememly helpful as he offered to come out and check the level/engine info himself. He then told me that I wouldn't need very much, and that sometimes too much oil can actually be quite harmful to your car. Then he recommended a certain type which I picked out and was on my way. It was very simple, I didn't feel invalued and came away with a bit more knowledge than when I arrived. I'll also say that their air-freshener selection is tough to beat! A+++ read more

I was in town visiting friends and had a warning light light up on my vehicle dash. I went to this Advanced Auto for them to run it through the computer for an engine code. While I was there, I picked up a couple of items. This all happened on a Monday. The following Saturday I needed to return them. I was near the Advanced Auto on Ten Ten Rd. The salesman at that location couldn't accept that return because I didn't have the receipt. He told me that if I took the items back to the original store of purchase with my id they could give me a refund. So I took the items back to Kildaire Farm Rd. The salesman there told me he could only give me a store credit. I explained to him what I was told. He got a manager,John. He could not find my the record of my purchase in the computer for some reason and questioned whether I was in the correct store. He was insulting and rude. Finally he reluctantly put the money back onto my debit card. I don't intend to use Advanced Auto anywhere for any reason. read more

My husband and I were both out of town when the battery in our daughter's car died. She was panicked but got a jump and was able to get to Advance Auto. One of the staff here helped our daughter find the right battery for her car. He carried it out and spent time removing the old battery which had corroded at the connections. He was very patient, (even dodging the crow-bar-wielding grandfather who had come along to help by beating on it) and finally had the new one installed and our daughter on her way. This was the first time I needed to visit an auto parts store since I moved to the area. Top notch customer service. I ordered windshield wipers through the website for pick up at this location, a quick and easy process. I needed air filters too, but had a few questions so I waited to purchase them at the store. George proactively had ordered a wiper they didn't have in stock for me prior to my arrival for pick up later in the afternoon. I had all my questions answered about the air filters and they had what I needed in stock. They even installed my wiper blades for me. While I could have installed the wiper blades myself, they did it in half the time it would have taken me and I was on my way. On May 11, I went to this store to get a rear tail light for my car. I took my son with me for moral support, but neither of us had ever bought and/or replaced a tail light before. When we walked in the door, Stephen greeted us. He seemed to recognize the look on my face and asked if he could help us. I responded affirmatively. He found the correct tail light (there were four vendors to choose from, the least expensive one was the "stock" part used in the car, according to Stephen, and I bought that one.) I then expressed that I had no idea how to replace the dead bulb. Stephen quickly offered to do it for us. He was patient with us, allowing us to observe and ask questions. He was professional, polite, competent, patient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend not only this store, but Stephen. From all the other reviews i guess i caught them on an off day ! I went in on a rainy morning hobbling in from a broken foot that was in a cast. I needed some sorta of fuse to get my inspection complete. When i finished explaining what my dilemma was, the person behind the desk told me he had no idea what kind of fuse i needed and to go out and see which one it was. I explained the car and year thinking he could look it up and save me a trip. Nope.....He said i needed to go out to the car and look. Mind you....broken foot....rain..... So i limped back out to the car and tried to kneel down enough to see which fuse it was. I could not get down far enough with out putting my foot at risk for re-injury. So i grabbed the owners manual and the cover from the fuse box and went back inside. I found the same person and said that i could not get down far enough to read it because of my foot. I tried to show him the book and the cover to see if he could decipher anything. He was not interested again in helping me any further then he had to. So i figured it out and said i needed a certain amp to which he replied there are 3 different sizes for that and asked which one did i need. Finally realizing I would not get any extra help from this guy, i just grabbed one and left. Of course it was the wrong one and the good people at Jiffy Lube in Cary,NC put the extra effort into helping me. To say i was disappointed in the lack of service at this location is a true understatement. I called the company's feedback line to voice my concern about the zero customer service i had gotten at one of there locations. After telling the gentleman on the phone about my experience, his first response was that their employees are not mechanics. I just laughed and said that neither was i. The lack of interest from both the Corporation and the Store was almost humorous. This was my first and last time at Advanced Auto. My family, friends, and i will go else where. read more
