Doug beat that other guy's price by almost half! Hi-Way's been around for years and I can understand the 700+ 5-star reviews online. Doug was also able to point out things I didn't need, unlike that the other mechanic told me I definitely had to get done, just to milk me for extra cash. I ended up fixing this problem myself as I was already home before I discovered the problem. I let 1/2 quart of oil out from oil pan in 35 degree temperature and had to dispose of messy oil. Added one cup of distilled water into radiator because I didn't have the manufacturer specified coolant on hand. Anyone who knows anything about cars should know that any oil overfilled more than 1/2 quart can cause engine damage. I tried to get a partial refund for the cost of extra quart of oil charged to me and the labor I had to perform myself to fix problem but was denied. They are called stealerships for a reason.

Bear with me, because this is going to be quite a review…read more I had been going to Probilt for a few years, and had gotten good work done. I was happy I had found a decent auto repair shop. Then...it all came crashing down. I went in for a routine oil change over a year ago, and when I picked it up, they charged me and I paid and I figured that was that. The mechanic, (whom I'd not seen there before,) brought it out and asked me "Did they talk to you about the timing belt?" "No." I said. He then proceeded to tell me how the timing belt had "slipped a tooth already", and that it "can lead to engine damage." I said I'd look into it but he said it would be okay to drive. When I got in my car and started driving (it's a 5-speed 2012 Ford Fiesta,) I IMMEDIATELY heard grinding and there was little to no acceleration. Remember: it was FINE when I took it in, and I had just driven a long distance trip with no problems. I brought it in for a routine oil change. I stopped off and called them back and took it back in. The woman at the front desk remembered that she hadn't remembered to tell me about a potential issue. I dropped it off again and they continued to look at it. They called back a few DAYS later and told me that it had slipped and they don't fix that. I was livid. They said they weren't covering anything financially and that it was something they couldn't help with. These are people I had gotten used to seeing and had been on friendly terms with for at least a couple years. I went to get it towed back to my home. When I got there and spoke with the tow truck guy, he said he had been towing a lot from Probilt lately and they had apparently been under new ownership. That made perfect sense. The people on the phones seemed completely different than they had been and the new mechanic seemed more than subpar. It felt as if they were just churning through cars and didn't care about anything but the payments anymore. I will NEVER go back there, and I warn anyone else against this place. Hopefully, it shuts down soon, if it hasn't already. I notice most of the good reviews are from years and years ago.
