This is a great place to go for honest, quality service. They communicate at every step of the process and walk you through the details of everything, and they're so incredibly helpful and patient. They genuinely want to take good care of customers, and they have enough people with a range of experience in different areas that they seem equipped to handle just about anything. That is hard to find! Some places only want to work on big jobs, or they refuse to take certain repairs or they're just too busy for you. They got me in with very short notice, even though they were extremely busy. This place is my go to home repair shop for my car. I came to them with a long list of things I wanted done, and they gave a hell of a good deal for the labor as I already owned all the parts. I took my car to Tap Automotive in Clarksville on the advice of the people who hold the warranty on my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The issues were: the four wheel drive error light was on and the low oil pressure light was on. After their mechanic did his inspection I was told they needed to replace the left and right wheel bearings, to change the oil, and to replace the ABS sensor. They also said I had an oil leak somewhere, but they couldn't tell where unless they put a dye in. They repaired the wheel bearings but had to wait for the sensor to get in. I received a call telling me that my car wouldn't start and I needed a new battery. I assured them my husband could take care of the battery and they asked me how they were supposed to get the vehicle out of the bay. (I thought, being a shop, they could figure out how to jump, tow, or push it out, but they asked me instead of taking care of the simple fix.) After they had my car for 5 days, I picked it up and when I started it white smoke was blowing out of the exhaust in huge clouds. This hadn't been an issue before their mechanic "fixed" it. When I called them about the white smoke they had me bring it back in. They were also going to look for the oil leak that they put the dye in to find. The first call I got was to tell me it was smoking from the exhaust, not the engine. Obviously I knew that already, and I did not tell them it was smoking from the engine. The 4 wheel drive error light came back on as well. The response to that was, well that mechanic doesn't work here anymore. The next call was to tell me that they could not get my car to smoke at all, and they had started it several times so there was nothing wrong there. However, the leak that they found was not an oil leak but a very bad leak from the transfer case and it would cost $2000.00 to reseal it (they were not replacing anything mind you). Now, I am no mechanic but how did a dye in my oil lead you to a leak in the transfer case that does not have oil.......I said absolutely not and went to get my car. I called my warranty company because Tap was not trying to resolve the problems they created, or correctly fix the things that I first brought it in for. I was instructed to take the car to another place and have them look at it for the white smoke and the 4 wheel drive error light that was back on. They checked the oil and said the oil had been overfilled by about 2 quarts. Another trip to Tap Automotive asking them to please change my oil (a service I had paid for) and to not overfill it. They came back and said there wasn't too much, but they drained 1 quart anyway. Then he very condescendingly told me the other place had looked at the wrong side of the dipstick and he showed me how to read it. I didn't appreciate the attitude that I was too stupid to read a dipstick. I left there with my car still smoking and nothing fixed. Back to the other place. The mechanic there took pictures of everything that Tap said they had fixed, and checked the oil. The oil hadn't been changed, the filter and oil were dirty and the oil plug was not in tight. The pictures showed no parts had been replaced and the sensor had been broken, probably when they tried to remove it, but not replaced. And he looked for that leak in the transfer case and there was not one.The mechanic not only gave us the pictures, but signed it attesting to his finding. Guess what, back to Tap only to have them deny any responsibility. They did finally replace the sensor, but didn't fix anything else. Overall, I would give them zero stars out of five. They gouged me on prices for the sensor, actual pricing was shown to me at the other mechanic. They tried to force me into overpaying for a battery. They didn't do any of the repairs they charged me for and I left with my vehicle in worse shape than when I took it to them. read more

I would never recommend this business. I only went to TAP because they were convenient to my new home. I bought a new set of tires and later found out I was overcharged $75 for each tire. I found out I had been overcharged when I hit something in the road two months after buying the new tires and had a flat tire. I went to change it and found that TAP hadn't returned my lug nut key to my trunk when they put on the new tires earlier. I had to have the car towed back to Indiana as a result. The person at the desk offered me a $200 credit for the required towing but still wanted to charge me an additional $200 for another tire. I went to a different tire business and found that I could have gotten the tires MUCH cheaper in Jeffersonville. However, when I went to have the new tire put on in Jeff I was told that they couldn't put it on because this time TAP hadn't returned my wheel to me when the put the donut tire on. Altogether with the two items they failed to return to me each time and the day of work I had to miss as a result, TAP cost me $500 for which I got nothing but a hard time from them, and that's not including the $300 they overcharged me for the tires initially! I had a warranty fix through Carvana for a USB port. They were helpful, quick, and communicative. When on my way to pick up my car, I hit heavy traffic and was afraid I was going to arrive after they close. I came in two years ago for my engine light and a few other issues going on with my car that I couldn't figure out. As soon as they got my keys they were able to find out the issues very fast and were quick with getting the parts and price range was perfect. this was by far the worst experience Ive ever had with a shop they had my car for 2 weeks and didnt even touch it and just left it sitting out after twoooo weeks then on the 3rd week they tell me at 8:30 in the morning we have bad news your car got hit bye a truck but not only did they say it got hit bye a truck but they where not going to fix it and i had to contact u-hauls insurance so then I ask them ok so why wasn't it even being work on for the past 3 weeks for it to be out in the open to get hit by a truck then they start with the excuses ohhh the guy had a family passing so he is not here okkk??? And that has what to do with my car like I understand but if you would have told me anything like that I would of gladly Brought my business elsewhere but instead I get my bbrand new car back after 3 weeks and it's has damage from getting hit by truck I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody anywhe...!! read more
