I decided to try a different place which happened to be O'Reilly. First thing they said, battery very bad. Good. Suspected problem confirmed. Then rather than sell me a battery and install it, they pointed out these cars with the new engine stop/start at traffic lights have two batteries! There's a small one that powers the aux equipment while the engine is off and alternator is not running at these annoying 'engine off' traffic lights. Their computer instructed them to send customer to professional (dealer) service for determination and replacement of proper battery, this to avoid accidental damage to computers. I can understand there must be circuitry that ties the output from the alternator to both batteries and there may be voltage somewhere you don't anticipate. So you could buy a battery and probably replace it at home being extra cautious but that's too much liability for a store which is not a service center. O'Reillys jumped the car, got me started and sent me on my way to my dealer, no charge. This made me have a bit more faith in them going forward than the other store in town.

Had engine trouble on the way home from our Vacation. We were sent here from the truck shop off of…read morethe interstate I 65 N. Our engine light was flashing and she was running ruff! It was late by the standards of repair shops and I was dis hearted because I HAD to be home no latter than the next day! The young man Troy ,whom had only worked here for 1 week,was kind and hooked up the code reader to our van. Unfortunately it will not read Hondas! Troy told me his MGR could help us with info on shops and hotels in the area. I went inside and spoke to Armond the Mgr. He was very concerned about us! He informed us of a few shops that might be willing to take a look. He made SURE that we knew auto zone does NOT have any affiliation and that these were only leads. Sure enough we found a guy and he was able to fix our van at 7pm at night!!! Armond was very informative,kind and made sure we were ok. He went above and beyond! My husband and I made it home safely that night! Oh,and in case you are wondering,the van was mis firing on two coils. The mechanic only charged us 50 bucks! And he isn't a *backyard*mechanic..he owns his own shop. Accurate automotive. Only 5 mins from auto zone. The parts (in which they only had two!) Were only 102. Bucks. I was told not to worry about saving the receipt as everything was saved in AutoZone's computer. long story short that motor went bad and when I went to exchange it for new one the information had been entered wrong. it was listed under unknown vehicle and only a partial part number. the assistant parts manager helped me as best he could but he said I would have to get it fixed in the system by the day shift manager it was a lady , I don't remember her name (nor do I want to ). the assistant manager said it happens often because of the personnel turn over and inexperienced workers not familiar with the computer system. I tried reasoning with the lady manager to no success. I have bought all my parts from this store for the last 5 years. because of my experience with this manager I will never buy from Autozone again and I will tell everyone I meet of my bad experience with Autozone. I went to O' Reilly's auto parts to purchase a new window lift motor and it was $15.00 dollars cheaper. when I told the lady manager on days at the Demotte, In. store I would no longer buy from Autozone She said with a smile thank you have a nice day.
