We took my mother's car here for a check up and a repair. We had been to another repair shop who…read more'fixed' the problem but there was still a little hiccup with the start of the car, so we decided to take it to a certified Dodge repair shop. Probably should have done that from the beginning, but our local repair shop is pretty great, so we didn't think twice about going to them. We started with a phone call here. The woman who took our call was very helpful and informative about what they would be able to offer, what the costs were for a diagnostic, and how they manage their repairs and charges (I like to know what to expect with car repairs before I ever give them the green light). She did not ever come across as frustrated or annoyed with our uninformed questions. She stated she would be able to get us in for the diagnostic that day. It was great! Unfortunately, the only hitch we ran into was on-site. Again, really friendly staff. I was glad that we were in a location that seemed to know what they were doing and were happy to help. HOWEVER, they will let you stand at their counter for 10 minutes while they chat with each other before finally asking you if you need help....no...I am just standing here practicing my sculpture pose. I mean, come on. Someone walks to your counter, conversations stop until the person has been assisted. Common sense in the customer service industry. If you can't help at the counter, don't chat at the counter. Ultimately, they kept my mom's car for a week and never called to give an update. We waited 4 days before calling ourselves to inquire. They were unable to find anything wrong, which was a relief, but why not call to let us know that they were still looking for the problem? Unfortunately, customer service when YOU call is really the only positive. Do not expect them to follow up with you. And most certainly don't expect them to be helpful when you're standing right in front of them.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Homer Skelton and would not recommend this…read moredealership based on how my repair has been handled. I brought my RAM to Homer Skelton because it was overheating. At the time I dropped it off, there were no check engine lights or diagnostic codes. I was told the turbo coolant system had failed and needed replacement. The repair cost approximately $3,200, and I was informed that the coolant system had been flushed as part of the repair. When I picked up the truck, the check engine light came on almost immediately after starting it. I notified the dealership before even leaving the lot. I was initially told it was likely a battery issue, and the code was simply cleared and I was told to return if it came back on. Within approximately ten minutes of leaving the lot, the check engine light returned. I stopped at both AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto Parts, where their scanners indicated an exhaust-related pressure sensor code that appeared to have recently been cleared. I returned the truck to Homer Skelton, where they then acknowledged the pressure sensor code and later began identifying additional issues, including the thermostat. Ironically, another dealership had previously inspected the thermostat and advised it was functioning properly. Over the following weeks, my vehicle remained in Homer Skelton's possession while additional problems continued to appear. I was later told the thermostat had been replaced "as a courtesy," then informed the issue was actually the exhaust filter, with an estimated repair cost of approximately $4,000. During this process, I also experienced new throttle-related warnings and an exhaust filter warning that increased from 80% clogged to 100% clogged shortly after leaving the dealership. None of these warning lights or issues existed before Homer Skelton performed the original repair. Throughout this process I repeatedly requested detailed repair documentation and invoices explaining exactly what work had been performed. Instead, I received paperwork containing crossed-out items, incomplete descriptions, and diagnostic charges that appeared repetitive. Despite requesting multiple times, I have never received a clear explanation of why these new issues appeared immediately after the original repair. What concerns me most is that: My truck had no check engine lights before arriving at the dealership. The first check engine light appeared immediately after their repair. The dealership repeatedly cleared codes instead of resolving the underlying issue. Additional problems continued appearing while the vehicle remained in their possession. I was repeatedly asked to authorize thousands of dollars in additional repairs for issues that arose after the original repair. Management has not responded to my repeated requests to discuss this matter directly. The vehicle has now been out of my possession for approximately eight weeks, and I still do not have a properly repaired truck. During one phone conversation, I could also hear employees using profane language while discussing another customer, which was very unprofessional and further diminished my confidence in the dealership. I simply wanted my all the issues they have created such as the exhaust pressure sensor replaced, the exhaust pressure filter replaced and the throttle repaired correctly. Instead, I have spent weeks without my vehicle, incurred significant repair costs, and continue to face additional repair recommendations for problems that did not exist when the truck was brought in to Homer Skelton. I hope Homer Skelton's management will step in, thoroughly review this repair history, communicate directly with me, and work toward a fair resolution. At this point, I am seeking accountability, proper repairs, and reimbursement for work that did not resolve the original problem.
