Used for tire replacement with a good experience so we took our truck in for a brake job. VERY expensive! Complete lack of transparency in pricing. As a follow up to my previous post, y'all are notorious for trying to scare women of a certain age, that I needed to have a new engine. You blatantly lied to me in your reply to me commenting about the way you handled things. When I asked about putting water in the radiator when I first arrived, you told me immediately that it would just blow out the tailpipe and do no good. You didn't even try it and were immediately focused on the fact that it was raining, I had 2 big dogs in my car, and an older woman just trying to get home. If you supposedly ran the tests you "say" you ran, why wasn't any of this told to me when I went back to get the car an hour later? You were high pressure to get $9,000 plus tax that day by fear tactics and I've told numerous people of the way your shop does business and I've been told from others that you have done the same to them. I would like to add, when I picked up the car, you were throwing me a bone when you said "it will be $130 for diagnostic testing but if I go ahead and commit to get a new engine, we will credit the $130 towards the $9,000." Wow what a deal! How about you give me back my $130 that I paid for nothing and I'll stop telling people how your business has devious business practices and make it right especially since I went to Summit Tire on Bartlett Blvd and they actually ran necessary tests and it was my radiator. Summit Tire fixed the radiator and it hasn't overheated again since because they run an excellent honest business and fixed the issue for $800. Upon picking up the vehicle from Summit Tire, I finally told them what your shop said the issue was and their response was "you aren't the first person to tell us this and we've been hearing it for years." All I have to say to anyone reading this, if your vehicle breaks down near Hwy 70 Auto Center, pay the tow fee, have it towed to Summit Tire and don't even go anywhere near your shop. As for your side of how you want to spin what the truth was with my vehicle, own up to making a mistake and give me my $130 back. You asked if you could contact me personally to get me to shut up on Yelp but until you put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is and reimburse me for scaring the crap out of me and others, you need to admit on this portal YOUR mistakes and give me back my $130 and if not, that's your problem not mine. read more

I have spent a ton of money and have been a faithful loyal customer of Highway 70 Auto Care. I had an alternator installed By someone else in Texas that has now failed. AutoZone warranted the alternator, and I just needed someone to install it for me. I called Highway 70 Auto repair and they said they will not install a customer supplied part. At what point do they not give something back in return to help a customer out. I am more than willing to pay their labor cost to install this alternator, but they said they will not do it period. I can certainly find me somebody else to take my vehicles to for repair from now on, and I will also tell my sons and friends who have been customers of Highway 70 also to find another repair facility that takes care of their loyal customers. read more

Very unhappy with the service performed. Came in to get some tips put onto an exhaust I already had on the truck.The tips were going to he welded on. It's been barely one day since I've had this work done and a welds has already busted. Happens...but after one day... not so much. Then on top of that they told me when I got my quote that they do not use exhaust tips that have been used. Cool with me! I waited an extra day to not only to buy new tips from them, but for them to put my used, old tips on AND for them to put the new tips into my truck still in the box and in the wrappings. Very suprised to have this happen. I took a leap of faith coming to a new shop to get what I feel like was some decently simple things. They are crooks !!! The owners son Josh is a liar. Whatever they say get it in writing ! I paid for a set of tires on a thursday and was told they would be in friday so i took off work and waited on their call and no one called so i called a hour before they closed and was promissed the next day this went on till Wed. I took off work each day and josh promissed a really good deal on another set of tires for the trouble and he quoted me a price but they charged me full price and acted like we never talked about a price. These people are not qualified to change a bicycle tire. I brought my vehicle in to have the oil changed. They cross- threaded the bolt in my oil pan and it cost me over $500.00. I've had 3 other people tell me of similar situations. Couldn't be more dissatisfied. read more

I took my car to their shop for an oil change. They told me they were going to use the manufacturers recommended oil. Then they didn't. After I was told the actual oil they used ( which requires changing 4,000mi. sooner than the recommended oil) was not that big a deal to me. I would have brought my own oil had I known. My problem was the way the reckless way they drove my car on their lot. Once I got my car back, the windshield washer reservoir was leaking, so when I looked under my car, there were deep abrasions under my bumper as if it was driven onto a curb or ramp ( like the one on the side of the building). I took it back to the shop. Immediately denied it happened there, and were very hostile even threatening to cause me bodily harm, and calling the police. I never said anything threatening to them. I was shocked that a customer can't complain of a perceived injury to his property without being treated so poorly. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone valuing customer service. read more

My wife and I both have Honda automobiles and we have always gone to the Honda dealer for oil changes. The dealers oil change bay is right where you can watch everything they do, which I do. I decided to try Highway 70 Car Care for oil changes since they have always done a great job repair our tires and other minor things. So I had oil changes done on my car and my wife's car both at Highway 70 Car Care. Well shortly after having my oil change done it was pouring down rain and every time I got to about 45 MPH I would hear something flapping. I had to pull of the highway and climb under my car to see my plastic skid plate, that must come off to do an oil change, only held on by two bolts and the rest of the skid plate was just flopping. Lucky for my the only two bolts left were hand tight so I didn't have to lay on the ground in the rain too long. I went home and checked my wife's vehicle. Her whole inspection plate that needs to be removed for an oil change was GONE all together. I emailed Highway 70 Car Car but never received an answer back. It ended up costing me another $114.24 to buy the parts needed for both vehicles. These vehicles are 3 and 5 years old. I do not trust Dealers and I have always checked any work a dealer has done on any of my vehicles. I thought I could trust a small shop I had always had good luck with. BUT, two oil changes ended up costing me over $200 once I paid for a regular oil change in my car and a synthetic on my wife's then having to buy the parts to get everything back the way it should be. I explained it all in the email I sent Highway 70 Car Care and they obviously did not care enough to get back to me on it. Everything else we have ever had done here, they have done a great job and have been very nice and FAST, especially when I have been in a hurry, but I really expected some kind of concern on their part after I spent over $100 to buy the parts I needed after they did oil changes. read more
