Let me say this first, US Route 22 is one hell of a road to navigate, especially during the night…read more My luck of travelling this road at night has not been good. I have hit many items along the road and this past night was no different. It wasn't a small item, but a semi-truck tire. Sitting right there in the middle of the road. Having nowhere to go seeing how this tire was smack dab in the middle of both lanes, I hit it. In doing so, I ripped the wheel well cover of the car away from the frame and it was rubbing against the tire. I stopped that night and did a quick fix and made a note to stop at an auto store to pick up some parts. I was in need of some fasteners and knowing that this was on my way to work one day, I decided to give them a try. I walked in and found my aisle I needed, I found a fastener closest to the one that was ripped off and headed to the counter. The employee I had wasn't so sure and I believe it was this gentlemen's first day. He got the manager and he helped me beyond what he should have. I asked a few questions, he answered them amazingly and even showed me a tool that would be helpful in my repair. I thanked him, bought my items and was on my way. I am not the most car literate person and it was reassuring to have someone with more knowledge be sure enough of what they knew to get me where I needed to be with my car.

When we arrive at the shop we were early for the 4PM appointment. We went in only 5 minutes early to check in and drop off the truck. There were two people behind the counter and it took a few minutes for them to be free to talk to us. My sister told the lady she was there for her appointment. The lady asked her name. Couldn't find anything. Asked phone number, couldn't find anything... went through the computer nothing... kept looking and then asked what we were there for/what they were doing today for us. We told her we were there to get running boards installed on my dads truck. She said ok let me go see if we have them here... like ummmmmmm what?!? My sister called roughly a month-month and a half ahead of time to arrange everything. We waited and finally the lady came back and said that they did indeed have the boards but couldn't find a work order or special order. Nothing. I had a picture of the business card with what was being done and price for the boards and installation which my sister sent me. It was their card. Finally after what seemed like an eternity the lady found the barely completed paperwork for the order/work order/appointment and apparently whoever set up the order and appointment took the bare minimum of information and didn't enter any of it in the computer. Thank God I had a picture of the card with quoted price or Who knows what they would of tried to charge us. We were going to wait for the boards to be installed expect there is no where to actually wait inside the store. Let alone barely enough room to move around. They did manage to write down on the paperwork that we were "waiting" on it so that was one thing that was accounted for. We were told it would be about an hour to an hour and a half. We decided since there was no where to wait we would leave and come back. We came back a little early and waited in the lot till it was a few minutes after the hour and a half and when we went in they were occupied and we had to just hang out and keep ourselves occupied till we were told they were still working on it but it shouldn't be much longer. Mind you we are at less than 30 minutes till they closed. 30 minutes to close quickly turned to 20 and then to 15. 15 to 10, 10 to 5, 5 to close and still no truck . Sometime after 6 and us awkwardly standing around in a few different small spaces inside we finally got told the truck was done. I paid and we headed out. The running boards looked great. Job well done. It's been almost a month and they are doing good. We are happy overall with everything. There was good and bad so I want to be fair. Until recently, they provided consistently…read moreabove-and-beyond excellent service and always gave fair and honest accessments for all my car repairs needed on a mini cooper and mini countryman. When the countryman died of engine failure at over 110k miles, in June I purchased another older mini cooper. This is when our relationship changed. It was burning oil at an alarming rate, smoke was coming out of the exhaust, almost always after idling for a lengthy time and sometimes upon starting the car. I had it accessed by Murrysville Auto and a part replaced with the stipulation being that might and might not resolve the issue pointing to possible engine issues. Fair enough. I was glad to have honest information to make the decision. When it still exhibited smoke from the exhaust, I immediately made another appointment to have it reaccessed. This time, instead of Cody (owner) who always had relayed the information to me in the past, his mother, Jerrie (President) gave me info stating no further repairs were needed or recommended, that it was burning oil and the solution offered was for me to simply check the oil EVERY DAY. At this point, I questioned outloud to Jerrie in person if they were trying to tell me they didn't want my business any longer. She assured me that was not the case. We then talked and, with Cody in the conversation, as well, a rebuilt engine was found with a cost of installation being 15k. I agreed, thinking a total engine replacement would fix the issues. Before I could pay, I needed to transfer funds for next business day. In the meantime, a new light came on -- the engine reduced power light. This was a new symptom and my research showed it might mean more than an engine alone. I could not, with this new info, afford to pay 15k and not have a total solution so canceled the order for the engine. Now, Murrysville Auto lets me know the seller of the engine was charging a restock fee of 1600. This restock fee was not divulged to me on my paperwork which is unlawful and non-binding in PA. To just be done with the transaction and move on, I agreed to pay 1600. But then, Cody tells me it is actually more than 1600. I stand by the 1600 relayed to me and pay that. Soooo, bottom line I stand by my intuition that Murrysville Auto wanted to sever business relations with me, though I had been a long-time loyal customer and always paid my repairs in full, on the spot, with no questions on pricing or suggested repairs until this car purchased in June, less than 3 months and less than 1500 miles ago. By having Jerrie and not Cody give me the latest non-repair advice of simply checking oil EVERY.SINGLE.DAY which is ludicrous to charging and not divulging a restock fee (first, I would never back out of a contract except I had new vital info), it seems obvious that I will not be continuing my service with them for this car or any other. I have no idea what changed to come to their final ways of doing business, but it is what it is. They are not the same trusted business that I came to trust and rely on all these years.
