Own good experience there and one bad. Someone sliced open my tire in the parking lot while I was looking for parts.

Web site is broken just like the pricing on parts that you now pay for an extended warranty without wanting it.

I walked in with a general idea of the size I needed, but decided to double check with the book that is available for customers. I should of went with what I had thought in the first place, because the book was wrong. More on that in a few. I purchased the blade and went outside to install it. Good thing I did this before I left the lot because it really wasn't the right one. So I repackaged the blade and went back inside. I dealt with a different employee this time and she informed me that I should have asked at the desk before selecting my blade. That would be fine and dandy to have known, but why have those booklets if they aren't correct? After the employee retrieved the right blade you would have thought I was trying to pull a scam on them. I mean you saw me just purchase this, go out in front of your store, attempt to install it and come back in to exchange it for the right one. What could I have done in between any of those actions to suggest I was duping you? Anyway, after I got the right blade, I had no trouble installing this one and was on my way.

I've been a 'motorist' (I love that designation on the local news) for 25 years now, and a car…read moreowner for 20 of those years. And unfortunately I have learned the truism that an honest auto mechanic who'll give you a fair price is basically the hardest thing on earth to find. Dave at Neighborhood Motormart is the most honest car guy there is - for used car sales or repairs. If he can't figure out a problem; he'll refer you to someone who will. If a car has a minor fix, he'll make the minor fix and charge you a pittance. If it needs something big and he can do, he'll do it for a very fair price. If he can't, he'll refer you to a person who can. Example: three years back my Mazda was rattling something awful. Took it to our auto place in Denver, CO. They tell me the motor mounts are worn out - the engine is resting on frame. Repairs will be $1200 at least. Seems reasonable, but also I gotta drive the thing to Pennsylvania anyhow- so I think 'lets see if I can get a better price there' and also 'let's see if the car makes it to PA'. In Pittsburgh I find Dave's motormart. I tell dave take a look. He does. He does the engine remount **for $600**. After that, I took my car to Dave for everything. He sells used cars too - nothing fancy, mostly 10 year-old cars. But he's as honest as a car guy can be - he'll tell you what you're getting, and he'll charge you appropriately. Trust in Dave. (Also important note: as of this review the address is wrong. It's 1015 Penn Ave in Wilkinsburg; not Pittsburgh.)

I called at 2:30 asking ETA and the lady I talked to said the guy was supposed to come earlier that day - she seemed upset at him. She said she'd find out and call me back. Called me back at 3:07 saying the guy was leaving right away. Late, but whatever. 3:58 rolls around, so I call again. The lady tracks where the truck is and says the guy is "in my area" and "shouldn't be more than a few minutes." ANOTHER hour goes by... By this point my workplace had closed and I'm sitting in my car. Pretty ticked off, I call again at 4:39 - nobody picked up (probably recognizing my number). Tried again at 4:43 and left an unsatisfactory message this time. FINALLY, at 5:00, this guy pulls up. He's plays it off like it was no big deal he was 2 hours late and then adds: "sorry, but I don't have all of the cash for your car. I used some of it to buy a cheeseburger at McDonald's." To say the least, I was in disbelief. Luckily he worked out a way to Venmo me. The cash was all crumpled up in his pocket - extremely unprofessional. He then called his office to work out details and the same lady picked up (so I know she was there, avoiding my missed calls). We got it all figured out and they left with the car, but holy rip. 2 hours late and spent my cash at Mickey D's... I'll never deal with this company again. You've been warned

Out of all the auto parts store in the city that I could have gone to I had to pick this one. Why?…read more Because it was on my route to where I was going. But I should have held off and went elsewhere. For those of your not aware this is located on the circle in East Liberty. There is really only one way to get here. I just happened to be passing by when the lightbulb went off that reminded me to stop and grab the item I needed. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot I should have doubled back and kept it moving. See, this location is kind of like the trifecta for auto stores on the circle. Next door is a Goodyear and across the street is a Monroe (I think?), two places to have your vehicle fixed. That doesn't seem to matter to some as they will choose to fix their vehicle in the parking lot of this store. Or let their vehicle sit here in shambles until they can fix it. It's like the shady garage of the circle. Anyway, I made my way inside to purchase my item. I say this all the time I am car illiterate but am trying my best to make myself aware of things so I can be a little more independent when it comes to it. First I walked around looking like a fool attempting to at least find the area where this item might be. Of course it would be in the last aisle. My vehicle is newer and the item I needed wasn't something I had ever purchased before. Instead of an associate asking me if I needed help with my face looking confused, I pull out my phone and do a little google. Thanks for the assist Google. After some self research I find what I need and head over to pay. This is the only interaction I had with an associate in here and it was pleasant. Paid and made my way back out to the garage...err, I mean lot and heading on my way.

Their general manager refuses to install the battery I purchased! So I am stuck with a battery and I don't have the equipment to install it! I had three separate conversations with people at Advance on the purchase and install of a battery for my Jaguar - but when I showed up and bought the battery, they refused to install it. I have been buying car parts from Advance Auto Parts for years. I specifically like buying batteries there because the cost is reasonable, and they INSTALL THE BATTERY FOR FREE. On modern vehicles the install is not trivial. You need a jump battery to maintain power to the car's electrical system or risk having to reset all of the critical computer codes that run the vehicle. I don't have a jump battery so I have relied on Advanced to take care of this on my fleet of 8 vehicles. So be careful - the web site and counter people say FREE INSTAL, but it IS NOT TRUE!
