The Rick Hendrick Dealership in Charleston SC (West Ashley) was going to charge me $6700 to rebuild my transmission ... their only option ... along with numerous other necessary repairs (?) they said needed to be done. I had new spark plugs added (engine misfire) and added transmission fluid and resealed the transmission pan. After that, I test drive. it and it drove smoothly ... but would not transfer to high gear each time; glitchy. No other transmission symptoms though. Limped out to Pats Transmission and they recognized the code and replaced the solenoid ($970). That did the trick !!! Plus I saved a lot of money. They explained everything up front and told me what to look for in the future should problems develop. Super honest, great staff, timely repair. Highly recommend. Thank you Pat's Transmission !!!

Immediately after I started towing it home to Florida the transmission in my girlfriends truck started slipping and not shifting properly. I drove a few miles and realized there was no way I was going to make it home and saw Pats transmissions just ahead. I pulled in, met Pat and explained my dilemma. Even though his shop was slammed with work he sent someone out to help me right away. Upon inspection my trans was shot (which I already knew) and worked up a very fair quote for me as well as offering me several options to help even if I didn't use him for the repairs including storing my boat on personal property of a staff member if I wanted to try to make it without the boat in tow, assistance with a rental car or help finding a tow vehicle to get the boat home while the truck was repaired as it could not be done on Friday afternoon. Needless to say i was floored by his kindness and willingness to help even if he didn't get a nickle from me. Unfortunately I had just spent my money on a boat and was not able to have Pat rebuild my trans. and had to get a junkyard unit due to finances, but felt compelled to write and let people know about Pat and his A+ crew and my gratitude. He said they would hold it until I was able to see it. I notified the salesman I was going to be a little later because my kid had late start day at school. He never read my text until I got there. That was not the case at Ravenel Ford. Tommy assisted me with the car buying process and he was fantastic! He was patient, polite and knowledgable. I hadn't intended on buying a car that afternoon and had only gone to the dealership to browse and see what I liked. As it turned out, I found a great SUV at a really good price and the deal was too good to pass up. I decided to buy but was short on time. Tommy and his team were able to get me financed and have me out the door in my new car in 30 minutes!! They were even willing to work with me on my trade-in and a 5 year warranty.
