I needed a battery for my wireless key flob so this auto part store was the closest location from where I was at so I stopped in. It was only me and another customer in the store. The other customer was being helped so I waited right by the counter for awhile no one came up front and when the guy did there was No Hello, No Smile just asked are you being helped. I said no he said someone will be with you. I was still standing there for a couple of minutes then I left. I was visiting from Upstate NY to see Relatives in town and the 'old' Battery was acting up on my 2004 Ford Ranger XLT. I came in to purchase a new Battery. The Salesperson, Robert was not only knowledgeable about the different Battery options, etc. , he offered to install it for no extra cost. wow!!! The Battery fasteners were rusted on and Robert took the time to remove them and meticulously & professionally install the new Battery. Wow what terrible customer service. My grand kids have more common sense than these guys. They disappear to the back of the store when the lines get long so the lines get longer and there's one kid trying to ring up 8 people as slow as he can. He doesn't ask for help, he insists on keeping us in there as long as possible. They might as well sell weed at that store because its obvious they are all pot smokers. My buddies daughter went there recently to pick up a quart of oil and got harassed by a man named Wayne, I insisted she tell the manager or corporate office but she didn't want to make trouble. IF YOU'RE A WOMAN OR PERSON OF COLOR!! BEWARE! Not shocked at all that someone below said an employee accused their sibling of stealing and another mentioned their bad customer service. Came in last month asked the employee (older Asian/possibly mixed Caucasian male) if he could remove my battery for me so that I could charge it, he snickered and said "We don't do that". That sounded odd to me, especially since I bought the battery there, they've installed and removed for me in the past without any issues. I said "really?" he said "yeah". So I called corporate and asked and they CONFIRMED in that case they would have removed the battery and that is one of the services they offer for free (charging, installing and removing the battery). So now I want to know why I was denied that service. They took some time to "investigate" the issue and after allegedly speaking to the employee, he stated they were under staffed that day. -__- That's BS as he never mentioned anything about being understaffed and there were definitely other employees there. Also any business that conducts good customer would explain that to the customer and ask the customer to come back at a specific time when most employees are expected to be available. This employee had no issue assisting the Caucasian males in the store though. And the representative I spoke to, Amanda, was unprofessional and condescending and of no assistance whatsoever. She even said the District Manager, Mohammed, would get back to me, and he never did. There are PLENTY of auto stores in this area, I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more

I purchased a new battery here instead of my usual spot (AUTO ZONE). They lost my trust because Auto Zone lied to me so I went with these guys. I was excited to get item installed by a professional at the MERRICK RD NYC (long island) location but the guy who helped me (young Guyanese man) was a bit cranky and almost refused to do it because 1) screw was rusty - I told him I won't complain if the screw breaks. 2) When he realize the screw works he then throws old battery on floor after uninstalling it like he was forced to do this. 4) Also noticed he removed the positive charge first before Negative. 3) Instead of helping me figure out the battery placement since its too small says you bought wrong battery. I told him the website recommended it and had high ratings and he pretty much said WEBSITE doesn't know anything. He then didnt feel like screwing the screws back on since its rusty so said it's just going to be moving because he can't do it. So told me to turn on car and when it turned on he just walks away. SMH. I love the company because I recommend my customer to this location but this type of customer service makes me question that. I give this a lower rating just because of customer service experience. The guy did not even spray the battery ports with any protectant. Left it greasy with sulfur build up. Went to the store in Valley Stream, looking to replace rusted out bearings on a boat trailer. I looked up what could be the part on my computer and saw they were in stock at the Valley Stream, NY store. I brought the bearings with me so I could make sure they matched. I was told by the miserable cashier, that if there is no part number he can't look it up. I asked if there was someone in stock or someone knowledgeable available to help me and he told me no. I asked if he had any one inch bearings and he said there are thousands of bearings and will not look at them without a part number. I asked him to look up the bearings on the store computer and I was told the computer cannot access the Advance auto parts website and that I should just look up the parts I wanted on my phone and order them online. I explained that I wanted to make sure the parts matched before I had to purchase and then return them. While I was looking up the part on my phone, an elderly man asked him a simple question about a pack of fuses, and the cashier rudely said no and walked away form the man, leaving the customer looking at me in shock.Might as well put in computers like McDonalds cause the people working in the Valley StreamAdvance store have no mechanical knowledge or any customer service whatsoever. Went to Auto Zone, had my bearings, out of the store less than 10 mins. Ill stick to them and amazon. So I decide to stop at advanced auto parts grab myself a gallon jug of oil it says $24.99 on the shelf I didn't read the little tiny print on the bottom because I ran it without my glasses I get to the counter where he dealt with an idiot named Oumesh T. He says do you need oil filter I said no I'm kind of in a rush and the oil sort of an emergency I usually get my oriole filter for free when the oil is on promotion he says OK and rings it up I swipe my credit card I sign for it I can look back and wonder why it's more money it's $29.99 The moron then proceeds to tell me that if I got it with the oil filter the filter is free and the oil is $5.00 dollars less I was so angry I'm in a rush it's been charged my credit card I don't trust this idiot trying to reverse the charge and recharge me again so I can go home later and find out a cost me 50 bucks for oil and then have to deal with the credit card company why do they hire these idiots read more
