Well ... here goes .... The story of my life when u neglect the noise from ur car thinking it'll blow over but ur brake pad just completely flew away from its original place. That happened to me. Again, I was in the same neighborhood and same thing happened with my car but different part this time. I called Tikal on a Sunday thinking that it was open but it wasn't. The owner answered the phone call & said auto repair shops in Inwood are all closed on Suns cuz of auto parts shops are also close. So no parts coming in means no parts getting repair. I was devastated since I wasn't from the neighborhood. I was from Queens. Very far from where I am. The owner was super accommodating in coming to the shop on a Sun when its close just to get my car into the shop. He told me he'll take care of the parts & let me know what's wrong with it & the pricing. Monday came around, true to his words, he'd let me know over the phone that it was the same as my suspicion predicted, it was my brake pads that flew off. Told me the pricing and had it fixed after I agreed to it. Got it done within the same day & I was able to pick it up around noon after being notified like about 3.5 hrs before. I was super happy with the work & the results. The service was superb and the shop owner & his son was extremely helpful and not hostile like some of the shops that I'd went to. A helpful tip .... BRING CASH! They charged u taxes if u use ur card. read more

This a father and son shop. It was cool to meet them and they work well together. My muffler fell down and needed to be welded back on my 2001 Civic. Told him I didn't want anything expensive, but just right to be done right. Wasn't bad and I paid about $200 for him to get it done same day on Saturday and he even checked my other fluids and some belt noises and some other adjustments. It's two months later and all is still very well. Very accommodating and very knowledgeable. Every where else I called was telling me not for a couple days and over quoting me on charges. I work on cars, but just didn't have time and the place in the winter. Didn't even tell them my experience because I wanted to see if they would over charge me but they didn't. These guys are great. I've been bringing my cars to them for a year now and wouldn't recommend any other mechanic. It's hard to find an honest mechanic and I could say these guys are honest. I have some knowledge of cars (not an expert) but some knowledge and I would bring a car to these guys without telling them the problem and they would come up with the same diagnoses. What i really like about them is they would even offer you the cheapest repair even if that means you bring the part from else where like brakes or transmission fluid and they do the work. They work fast and seem to always do a quick scan of the car and let you know what it would need soon in the future. Called to ask when to come in, I assumes the 24/7 sign was just a gimmick. The mechanic told me 20 minutes which would make it 8:30. I showed up, waited for 30 minutes, called 3 times and no one answered the phone or showed up. All I needed was my break light bulb replaced. read more

These guys are awsome. Looking for a mechanic, I was referred by a close friend and his recommendation did not fail. Christian his father and the other employees are very welcoming, will diagnose quickly, resolved my issue with my rotors, brakes, motor mounts and a tune up. By the time I got the car back a day later, it ran like it was brand new again. They also advised of preventative maintenance regarding what would need attention but not urgent. That alone is awsome because it shows they aren't money hungry and let me prioritize with repairs. I found this place on Yelp & called to get a quote for a rear brake replacements. The price they quoted was half off than what my current auto repair shop charged me. I took a chance coming here and I was very satisfied. They offer reasonable prices and are very friend. I came to get my brake replaced and I also was able to get one of my tires pimped with air and an oil change free of charge.
