I understand doctors need to see proof of insurance, but she didn't at the very least even have the professionalism or decency to come out and speak to me about it, rather had the front desk shun me even though I was visibly tearful and stressed since I spent the time driving all the way out looking forward with getting help with my acne. She has an aggressive nurse who has been incredibly rude and has an arbitrary policy for late arrivals - I can't tell if it's 5 minutes or 10, but I've been in both scenarios and there is no grace period in her mind for a downtown office. It's so aggressive, I won't be back. It'll ruin your day.

They were able to get me in a couple of weeks. I didn't have to wait long. There is a $25.00 fee for new patients (non refundable) which I understand incase of no shows. They sent me a questionnaire and health info information to fill out online so I didn't have to do it at the office. Very easy and quick. This place is pretty big, not only do they do dermatology, it's also a place they do Botox and other cosmetic procedures. It's so clean and the staff is attentive/ super friendly. My dermatologist was Emi Dougherty, CNP - Certified Nurse Practitioner. She was very patient and answered all my questions. They prescribed me Opzelura cream for my eczema. The scheduler also insisted that the excisions of Basel cell and squamous cell cancerous spots needed to "wait" for treatment until I was fully recovered from a knee replacement surgery. That is incorrect and dangerous information! I have since made an appt. with another derm practice for timely follow up. I really liked the PA, Abigail Main. But, unfortunately they have a scheduler who thinks she is qualified to dispense medical advice that is dangerous and erroneous. Therefore, I would NOT recommend this practice.

I was never told before my visit that this would cause my insurance to deny coverage or that I would be billed at out-of-network rates. When I disputed the charges, the office claimed I "should have known" from a past visit more than a year earlier -- even though they never disclosed this at the time of the current appointment. The result? A bill hundreds of dollars higher than expected for a basic procedure, plus pressure to schedule unnecessary follow-up visits. Patients deserve transparency about costs and insurance coverage before treatment. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about how your visit will be billed, who the "billing provider" will be, and whether that provider is in-network -- or consider going elsewhere.

But we found out today their policy has changed, only the patient can go in the room. I left the last two Cincinnati Doctors because of poor screening with the first and poor billing practices with the second. I met with Dr. Brown for the first time in October of 2022. The nurse (her name escapes me) was professional and administered local anesthetic virtually painlessly. Dr. Brown seemed professional, and compassionate. She completed a full body check, froze some sites and took one biopsy. The administrative staff I have spoken with and met are pleasant and professional.
