i have had two cars in to advanced for painting and some minor body work. in both cases the paint jobs had paint "nibs" and "orange peel" surfaces that were easily detectable when they gave me the cars back.in one car i had it back twice and a detailer fixed it. the second car was returned three times to fix the blemishes. i was very disappointed and there was no adjustments made for the inconveniences and poor workmanship -advanced had a good reputation but as a consumer ,be very exacting and inspect it when you pick it up! read more

My Insurance Company recommended this facility but after reading all the nasty reviews and sitting on hold for 15 minutes I could see the future of what was to unfold!! Disorganized, Unprofessional and running by the seat of their pants!!!! I was told 75 days plus to even look at car and Manager Paul was too important to take a call.. Plenty of great body shops around don't waste your time or jeopardize your vehicles appearance with this second rate Facility!!! read more

There used to be several good body shops in the HH area, but most of them unfortunately have gone downhill in recent years. I think these guys are in that category. My wife took her car in for an estimate--just repainting scratches in several areas. The estimate came in and seemed reasonable, so she booked an appointment. A few days later, she received a "revised" estimate that was 30% higher. Wow. There was some BS song and dance that their "system found a few issues" and their "system does this to ensure that the job is done correctly." I compared the two estimates and their "system" simply jacked up the labor charges. No additional parts, paint etc. So somewhere along the line, this system decided (all on its own?) it was going to take waaay more time then the original estimate. Part of me says this was done because she is a woman and they felt they could rip her off. Hard to trust anyone like that. read more

I had a terrific experience! Perhaps the negative reviews I see on this site are older reviews. I had bumper damage from another driver, and after reading great reviews on other sites and talking with area auto repair shops, I decided to go to Advanced Auto Body even though it is not a shop "affiliated" with my insurance. I'm so glad I did! They assessed the damage and set me up with an appointment that was a month earlier than the shop down the street. Leea kept me informed during the process and worked with the insurance company to complete the work even earlier than expected. They were professional, service oriented and very pleasant. I will definitely return here if I need auto body work again (but I hope I don't need it!) read more

After an unfortunate meeting with a Big Buck with a huge rack my 2021 Sierra Denali came up on the short end of the collision between truck and deer. The truck was towed to Advanced Auto-Body on Hilton Head Island. I experienced the best repair I've ever received. From start to finish everything was handled with the utmost in care. My truck looks brand new with no evidence of the accident. Great work! Glenda kept me completely informed throughout the entire process. If your insurance company asks you to take your car to this body shop, drop them and do whatever you can to avoid this body shop. My husband was in a very minor fender bender on July 6 and it was December 10 before they could finish repairing the car and refused to reassemble the car so he had transportation until they were able to get the parts. In one word, they are HORRIFIC , the price multiplied by 6 times and they did not return phone calls or follow up. Avoid them at all cost, believe me. read more

They left overspray, broke things, and did nothing to make any of it right...well...that is not fair, they did drop the overall price after they knew they made a mistake and I asked what can you do...-$125. was told my car was ready Twi was ready twice by advanced auto body the 1st time I went to pick it up the bumper was the touch on the driver's side they said they weren't told to look at that side only the right side which was insane it was the entire front end of the car and under the bottom of the car confirmed by USA a second time I go back I sit in the parking lot for 20 minutes and arm around my car down as soon as I leave the parking lot I'll the parking lot I'm here scraping it sounds like plastic something scraping up against the bottom up against the wheels I turned right back around less than half a mile from the place and go back only 4 One of the employees to say that oh you melt it down your fenders I didn't melt down anything I don't know that they realized I was sitting in your parking lot for 20 minutes Armor All in my car had to give me my rent a car back twice Then go get I'll change a Hilton head Honda tell them don't wash my car for 30 days as it vans instructed next thing I know the paint is chipping all off on the front end of the Fender on the passenger sign I go back to advance auto Hilton has said they'll take care of it with no problem I had no paint missing from the front of my car I literally drove from them straight home park my car work from home and medical with signa my car set until I got up Saturday to go get my oil change now I'm fighting over who's gonna be responsible because I go to get a estimate from advance and she Leah Leah looks around my entire car I do have a scrape on the back right side that I did myself it myself with a mailbox of metal mailbox that I couldn't see at night my windows are tinted and they're pretty dark so that's not even questionable this is all about the friend in my car and she actually sends a estimate to me for the entire car When I told her I needed the estimate authority explained to somebody on the front end of my car where this paint is chipping she won't say that it could be caused by the car wash so now the paint's chipping I know they watched my car as well cause my car was very clean when I got my car from them so at some point something was done for the paint to be chipping off the front of my car now I'm fighting over there I'll never use them again and incompetent to the highest level. Little do they know I have my entire car repainted at Smitty's collision which has 4.9 stars in Savannah they're awesome the only reason I didn't go there is cause I couldn't fit me in my car was repainted exactly 2 years ago my car has been a tip top shape minus the little finger thing that I did on the back which I will repair myself I will repair myself and she took pictures showing nothing was missing from the front of my car that the paint was intact so what happened no form of accountability makes no d*** sense terrible customer service and terrible service. read more

The business did fix the body work, however they left overspray on my hood. The people in the office were okay so it's more of the job performance then anything. Great lesson for me though: always take pictures right outside of the business before submitting your vehicle to a body shop for protection, pictures can not be refuted. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered with an auto body. I am from out of town and have been working down here for the summer. My car got hit and I had to get it towed. We called AAA and they came with a tow truck and took my car to Advanced Auto Body. I got a estimate for my car and then a few days later it went up another $1,000. Once I received my car two weeks later, I had to return due to the bumper not lining up right, my alignment was off, and my front left fender was completely detached. When I asked if they could fix these they screwed my fender in and slightly fixed my bumper. They referred me to Island Auto Service to fix my alignment. I spoke with Ron and he said that he was "to back up today can you come another day?" So, I had to make an appointment with them to get my alignment fixed. Long story short, I've had to go out of my way multiple times to get my car fixed when they should've done it right to begin with. Looks like to me they just hurried to get it done instead of taking their time to fix it. The amount of money they wanted they did a horrible job. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I was forced to go here by my insurance company after I got in a fender bender. Car worked fine before the accident then gave to this place now I have about 7 more problems that I have to fix. They took my 4wd out and didn't replace it. Didn't put bulb in my blinker and broke parts in the engine because my engine light is on, and my car currently won't start all it does is make this weird crunching sound. I took it back to the shop to ask if they could fix any of these things they said they would give me a call back with a quote. 3 weeks later I'm still waiting for a callback, so I took it to another auto shop they gave me a quote on the spot. The workers here are lazy and do a half ass job breaking more things than they fix. This is literally the worst shop on the island. They fixed nothing and made it even worse. They take your money and give you a broken car in return. DO NOT COME HERE!! read more

It took us 49 days, 33 working days to get our vehicle back from them. It was suppose to be 29 working days. The 4 extra working days is not what has us upset. The appraiser used the highest cash value she could find (we have USAA auto insurance), on the USAA website it clearly states they are to average multiple sources. Our car with the HIGHEST value she could possibly appraise it at ended up at over 70% total damage (her first appraisal was around 60%). Our vehicle is still not completely repaired and now that we have it back and are back in a different state, they are not returning calls and they have not paid for the additional 2 days of the rental that they gave to us to use when our completion date on our vehicle had passed. I would think twice before taking your own vehicle to this facility to be repaired. You would hate to get back a vehicle that is not completely repaired and then not even receive calls back to the multiple messages you leave. Consumer beware! read more

This is literally the worst place one could ever take their car. The staff completely lacks courtesy and is so unprofessional. I had my car fixed here not by choice but because the insurance company works with them. I got my car back and the repair work was fine but when they gave me my keys the key-less entry system was broken. I told front desk associate that they broke my property and she replied with we didn't break it. However, it was fine when the car was delivered to them so an ignorant statement like that blew my mind. I asked for the owner and was met by the most unprofessional business owner I have ever encountered. He told me he didn't break it and basically told me to get out of the store. I called Geico Insurance afterwards. They were extremely apologetic and offered to fix it. Never ever ever go here unless you like being treated like an animal, in which case you may opt to move into a zoo. Completely furious about the way I was treated and the lack of professional courtesy this body shop has. Advanced Auto Body HHI is a terribly run business and the fact that the insurance company collaborates with such morons is beyond me. read more
