1983 Toyota Pickup truck. Failed smog check at a different check only station. That other place's technician gave me suggestions that turned out to be non-effective as it failed again. My personal mechanic referred me to Advanced Auto Smog. Moe quickly figured out that the primary issue was the vacuum sensor going to the EGR as one of the ports was broken off and the vacuum system was essentially disabled. However, the part was not available from any local supplier but he helped me identify a possible solution from Ebay. It worked out and he was able to also fix the clogged vacuum tubes that filled up because it being run without being connected. The best part about the experience was that Moe was willing to work with me and take me step by step and he assisted when it looked like we couldn't find the part. In the future, I will not be going to a test-only place and will have all my smog checks done by a true smog professional, Moe. read more

i called to ask a question on a recent smog check done on 2/19 at 10am on a car. i spoke to a man who was incredibly rude. as soon as i asked him my question about the report, all he would tell me is "it's good, so no need for any questions" and kept brushing me off. i tried explaining to him the situation and he told me since i wasn't the one who went in, it shouldn't matter to me. then the call dropped. a couple minutes later he calls me back and starts to chew me out about the dropped call. i let him know that the dropped call was not my fault and had let it be, then as i once again tried explaining to him the reasoning for my call in the first place he told me "don't be asking me these questions. i gave the man a good deal" he kept reiterating the "gave him a good deal" part. and so at that point i just told him that i'd be hanging up. i've never had such an unpleasant and unprofessional conversation with someone. all i had called for was to have two simple questions answered. here's the info on the man i spoke with. Came again this past Saturday for smog check after 2 years . After Moe fixed my very complicated smog check not passing 2 years ago . Again went to 3-4 different smog stations including Honda & Moe was the only one that could fix it . But this past Saturday was very busy but Moe made sure he accommodated me.
