Just came to get gas the reader wasn't working, and it was beeping at me after putting my credit card in...since I could not see the reader I tapped on the glass to ask for assistance was told I had to come in and I said, oh my car is not locked. Attendant just smiles and went back to her book. I went back to lock my car went in and told her I can't see the screen, and since I put my card in, I am concerned is there a way you can clear it? If I could give this place a negative star, I would. Went to get some propane for my bbq. When I went in and said what I wanted, the girl acted like she didn't want to be there and I was interrupting her screen time on her phone. Went there to get a smog check and he told me all was good that I will pass and go in and pay for it. I went in and paid $63 to come out and have him tell me I did not pass. I asked him if I brought it back would he do it for free he said no I'd have to pay again. Very dishonest. read more

Out of propane ! This place is horrible. They won't let you use air even when you pay there high has prices avoid this place at all costs.

I've used the mechanic at this station for more than 10 years . I get oil changes, brakes and smog checks. Also some major repairs done occasionally. The owner Eddie has always given me great service and backs all of his work. It's hard to find a reliable and honest shop these days. Mike the mechanic is a no nonsense worker and won't try to oversell you on repairs. read more

RUDE! Very RUDE! Tried to get some propane and the attendant was slow. He was watching something on TV and i was putting him out of his way to get some propane. I had about a gallon left in my 10 gallon propane tank and I wanted it fillled before my trip. He charged me for 10 gallons. When I told him that it wasnt empty he said that he had to charge me for 10 gallons for the tank even though it wasnt empty. Its their policy. i asked if that was the same for gas (the obvious response) . He said "Propane is different, dont you understand that." I paid and never went back. I ALWAYS avoid this station! The prices are outrageous compared to other Shell stations with similar mechanic garages and similar retail sales (store). There is a Shell approximately 1 1/2 miles away on Arrow Hwy in Covina. Their prices (Covina) sometimes average 15-25 cents a gallon cheaper, but always much cheaper. I am a local plumber who would fill up At this gas station 2 to 3 times a week spending $75-$90 every time I live close and I will avoid using it personally and for my business from this point forward. It's difficult enough as a person to try to find a bathroom when you're working in the field and they close their bathroom and don't let anybody use it. First they claim its out of order and then I tell him I'm a plumber I can fix it they say you can't use it because of Covid. Other gas stations lets people use the restroom get off your lazy ass and clean it a couple times a day and you'll be fine. We are considered essential personnel and don't carry a Porta potty. read more

Took my old car (125K+ miles) to have it smogged. Pulled right up and they instantly took care of everything. And quite amazingly enough, it took longer for me to fill out their form, than to run the tests. I go back there, year after year ! They're the Best. TEN STARS ! read more

The owner of this Shell station, Ed, is fabulous. Also, his staff are always polite and nice. Ed is honest and really cares about his patrons. I went in thinking I needed brakes, because that is what the dealer told me, when I took it in for service. Ed told me I still had a couple of thousand miles left on both my front and back brakes! Also, my son needed a smog check. My son was back home, with smog check filed, within 20 minutes of leaving home. This station is where my son gets all of his truck work completed. Very rude female attendant. I run a catering business and always go here for propane since I live across the street but every time it's like I'm bothering her by asking her to do her job. Sometimes she even tells me they are out of propane and I honestly question if it's true. Finally today was the last straw, I went to top off my tanks as I have a full schedule and cannot run out in the middle of an event and she refused to fill the first saying it was heavy so it was full...guess what it wasn't full. When I brought my second she stated it was also full and I told her I knew it wasn't. She stated if she tried to fill it and it showed full she was going to charge me for 3 gallons so I told her okay, cause I knew it wasn't full...and it wasn't. The only good thing that came from her rude behavior is me taking my frequent business to the Shell on Arrow Hwy even if it's further. Customer service is important. read more

Never too late to appreciate the fact of having such all in one service station nearby my home. Tye place is clean and the people working there are very friendly and earned long time experience when it comes to mechanical issues and car maintenance. Not forgetting to mention the courtesy services I have been provided with over the years in so many occasions such as battery jump, tire pressure, engine water overheated and the list goes on. I love shell and will go out of my way just for Shell Gas, but this one; I'll avoid. The lady working inside during the mornings is not friendly, at all. Most times I'm able to go in, get what I need, and leave having the only thing said to me being how much I owe them. No "Good morning".. "hello".. "thank you"... nothing. At first I chalked it up to having a bad morning, as I have them often, but after a few times I stopped even trying to be polite and just started going elsewhere. The people inside are almost always rude and the gas prices are outrageous compared to other gas stations near by. They are almost always 20-30 cents more than others close by. Even chevron just down lonehill is ALWAYS less and ARCO on the corner or lone hill and arrow is even less expensive. Unless you're running on fumes I wouldn't waste my money. read more

This place really stinks and completely and blatantly rips off its patrons. Not only are the employees extremely rude, but the business price gouges beyond belief. For example, yesterday (Friday, 02-06-15) the price for a gallon of premium was $3.09. The very next morning (Saturday, 02-07-15) the owner raised it to $3.19 (Costco $2.57) even though the prices for crude oil has continually gone done for months. Obviously, the owner raised the price for weekend drivers. Needless to say, the owner at this Shell has the highest fuel prices in a 10 mile radius. When presented with the question of why, he says because he does not have a store to compensate for overhead. My answer is, look at all the comparable stations throughout the area (including Shell Stations) as they do not have "Stores" either. Most others also do not have a mechanic shop like he does and all of them have significantly cheaper prices (up to 30-60 cents a gallon). If your tank takes 20 gallons, that's $12.00 you are throwing away. Citizens of Glendora and other areas,,,, in my opinion, stop throwing away your money at this place. I love Ed and Mike!!!!! Ed is the owner and Mike is the head mechanic. They treat me like a million bucks! My mechanic used to be my neighbor and he is traveling all over the US now to open shops for another company. I always came to Alosta shell to get my smog certs for all of my families vehicles and I just saw something in Ed's eyes that told me he was a no-nonsense guy, plus I found out that a mechanic that I had many years ago used to send the most difficult repairs TO ED!!! I have a Silverado, a Suburban, and my son used to have a Matrix too. So when I first came to Ed for a repair other than smog, after my neighbor left town, I needed maintenance and also had a pretty bad oil leak on the Suburban. I should throw in that I called my neighbor and gave him Ed's price and he said "that is very fair Annette". Since then, this has been a beautiful and harmonious relationship and they treat my vehicles like they cost a million bucks, and they make me feel safe, secure, and like my business is very appreciated!!! Sometimes they even through extras in at no charge. I am sleeping better at night just knowing that my cars have great doctors!!! My truck and my suburban are older and paid for now, so most mechanics try to get you for every penny they can, but they say the same thing to me that my neighbor used to say "Annette, everything looks good! On an emergency basis I put a few gallons of gasoline in my vehicle from the Alosta Shell. As I was pumping the gas, an employee came to me and asked if they could do the service/oil change on my vehicle. Let's get something straight, I am very particular who works on my cars, especially a newer Mercedes. Naturally I told the guy no thanks and that the dealer does my work. He said it would be 200 bucks and they had a Mercedes computer to complete the work on my car. Not True! I don't know what their plans were because without a Mercedes computer in their shop (which are very expensive), the vehicle's computer cannot be reset. Also, their gas prices are some of the highest in a 10-15 square mile area. It is unbelievable to watch their prices compaired to other service stations, even Shell stations.
