I took my son here because he had a wart on his foot. We went 2 times and the "treatment" literally did nothing. Fast forward and we get a bill for hundreds of dollars because they billed the appointments as though he received a surgical procedure which he did not. The Dr. was in the room with us for maybe 7 minutes and slathered a cream on my son's foot and put a bandage on it and that was it. They also said I only paid half of what I actually paid at the time of the appointment. I contacted insurance and they suggested I file an appeal with the drs office and the insurance company. When I called the drs office the billing department said they could not do anything since insurance paid the claim but when I told them about the appeal o was filing with insurance she then said she could submit it to be reviewed by the billing manager. If you go here, pay attention to the billing department or you may end up overpaying. Oddly enough I got a phone call shortly after I posted this preview and I figured I'd come back to share that a phone number from "china mainland" called me and it was someone calling from the billing department at advanced bone and joint... totally bizarre. read more

I cannot express how horrible this entire situation has been. 6 months I've been being milked by two separate doctors. I've had 3MRI's, three separate injections (the last one in my spine) and what do I get for all of this money they have charged my insurance company??? I'm hurting more now than when I stepped through the doors. The doctors won't call me back. They don't respond to the portal or direct calls. I called yesterday extremely upset and demanded a doctor or nurse call me back. This was my second call and still nothing. I've left the office three separate times thinking I had an appointment, only to find out later that I didn't or it was on a different date than we discussed. They charged me $30 more to have paperwork filled out for my employer. 5 days of waiting just to receive paperwork that said NOTHING about coverage for my time outside of work. In fact it said the exact opposite. That was the first time I tried to call, and again still no response. This is a horrible place with no bedside manner. I wish I would have NEVER gone to this complete train-wreck of a business and I would encourage anyone looking at using ANY of the doctors here to look elsewhere. I wish I could give negative stars. Zach broke my back in 3 places and told me it's ok because they are horizontal fractures and will heal quickly. My neck makes creaking noises now too. office staff is completely incompetent I filled out the online form to schedule an initial appointment where I was supposed to get a call to schedule. after 2 weeks I filled out the form again and was called to set up an appointment. I saw one of the PAs which went well and I was sent for an MRI on my knee. I then saw Dr Glueck who was great and informed me that I had a torn meniscus and explained the surgical procedure to fix it. I was told someone named Julie would call me to schedule my surgery. that was May 12th. After weeks of never getting a call I called the office every week for about 4 weeks and left messages for her. Never received a return call so at this point I am moving on to another doctor. It's a shame this happened because the PA and Doctor were great and I wish I was writing a review to tell you all how great it was but apparently the scheduler doesn't return calls. read more

Fell on my bike (don't ride on wet asphalt....my tire slid making a turn!) and messed up my knee and elbow. When my knee still hurt/swollen/purple after a week, I went to this walk in orthopedic center. Arriving at 8:00am.... I was in an exam room, finished with X-rays by 8:19 am! Wow! Doctor came in 8:25 am! I didn't expect the fast service, but arriving at opening probably helps. Excellent place to go if you need to see an orthopedic... this is a great service with phenomenal doctors! Dr. Spezia was very knowledgeable in his expertise, explaining everything in layman's terms to me and prescribed a course of treatment. Luckily nothing major was wrong! I went in with an xray and mri already done. They told me they'd have a price for me in a couple days and sent me home. It's been a week and I've not heard back. I've called but nobody will talk to me. I'm in so much pain. Can barely walk and this so called pain management business can't get it together. first of all, if you care about your health, stay away from advanced bone & joint. called for an appointment regarding a torn tendon in my hip. the office person scheduled me with the hip doctor, john mcallister. i went to the appointment, paid the copay, saw the doctors assistant, and was told that dr. mcallister does not treat my type of injury. i was then referred to dr. glueck for another appointment which i did not keep. my mistake was to think that the person doing the scheduling would have some knowledge about which doctors treat certain conditions. my next experience was with dr. glisson for what i thought was carpal tunnel in my right hand. went for the appointment, saw the doctor and was told that i needed carpal tunnel surgery as well as trigger finger surgery for two of my fingers. long story short, i had the surgery for both conditions and there has been absolutely no improvement. fingers are worse now than prior to surgery. since then, i have been to two other doctors and was told that dr. glisson should have required an emg test (nerve test) to rule out any other things, but that did not even come up. also, i have read over the bills that were charged to my insurance company and found a $315.00 charge for a procedure that i did not receive, and when i questioned the billing department, i was told that the procedure was included with something else. as i said, go elsewhere if you care about you health. gary l. read more

This place is a joke. I'm 70 yrs. old and this is worst medical group I have seen. My problems are not with my doctor, but with scheduling. I have made numerous appointments, and have never had one without a problem. They loose your info. or have no record of your appointment even when made in person. My doctor moved here or I would NOT go back. I'm at the point of switching my doctor who I really like because I can't stand the front desk. Also they never, never answer the phone. If you leave a message it will be 2-3 days before they call you back, if they ever call you back. If you miss their call , good luck, it starts all over again. read more

Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was very kind and outgoing. I had less than a 5 minute wait in the lobby before being taken back for my appointment. Then less than 5 minutes before the nurse came into the room. Everything was very efficient, but at the same time the nurse and doctor took the time to figure out my issue and take the time to explain to me the next steps. They were recommended to me by a friend and I would most definitely recommend them to my friends. read more

I came to Advanced Bone and Joint because the doctor that I used when I had my ACL reconstructed in 2018 moved to Montana. My wife had her ankle reconstructed earlier this year and she had a wonderful experience with Dr. Lombardo. My experience, however, has been an absolute joke and I will NEVER return to this practice. I came to the office on 8/2 for an elbow injury and had an MRI scheduled, by the office for 8/6. I reached out today, 8/16, to get my results and the individual I spoke with this morning was COMPLETELY unhelpful and, frankly, unprofessional. First, I was condescendingly told that I was supposed to have set up an appointment to come in discuss my results and that "you should have already done that." I was never told to do that. Furthermore, when my wife had her MRI done this year, Dr. Lombardo called her and talked to her over the phone. She didn't have to set up an appointment to be told what was wrong with her ankle. Furthermore, how in the heck am I supposed to know when to make a follow up appointment when I don't know when my results will be read by my doctor? Going further, you all set my MRI appointment at the scheduling desk, seems to me if there was a required follow up... it would/should have been scheduled then. Second, I was lectured by this individual that I was required to "get the disk" with my results and bring them in. Here's the deal, no one told me that and the place that did my MRI - the place you all scheduled me at - never told me or gave me anything. Apparently that is my fault now. Regardless, again, my wife never had to "bring in the disk" to be told by her doctor what her results were. When I tore my ACL in 2018, I never had an experience like this. I had my MRI and within 48 hours I was called by my doctor and told my results. I didn't have to "collect the disk" from the imaging center nor did I have to call after the fact to make an appointment to find out what my results. You'd think, if you send a patient to get a test, you wouldn't say... "hey buddy, if you want to know what is wrong with you, you'll need to make another appointment for me to tell you." I've never had that happen. I've had physicals and other tests... never did I have to set up a second appointment to "get my results." The individual I spoke with was awful. To the point I simply hung up. There are plenty of other options out there and thankfully, having moved a lot in my life, I know how to get my records transferred. I'll be taking my case elsewhere and will never come back to this place again. Dr. Lombardo did my wife's surgery in March of this year. And while he has been great, this experience for me has been absolutely terrible. I've never been given the run around and certainly not talked down to like I was a child. I feel like I am nothing more than a number. To anyone out there looking for an orthopedic. I have had two knee surgeries in the last 5 years. Dr. Blackman was the best, but he moved. He did my ACL. That said, his office was great and that is where I will be going "with my disk" as I was told to get. I will see what they say and seek care from them. Dr. Andrew Gelvin was excellent for my first knee surgery, but had a long wait when I did my ACL, so I went to Blackman. If I can't be seen at St. Lukes in Chesterfield, I will be heading to Gelvin's office with SSM. I cannot recommend Advanced Bone and Joint. Go elsewhere. read more

I went into this office the summer of 2021. The doctor was very quiet but gave me suggestions on what to do for my injury. They sold me a knee brace I needed and sent me to physical therapy and said to follow up in 4 or 6 weeks. At my follow up the doctor was in the room for about 30 seconds. Gave me information that wasn't in line with what I had been told by him previously, or by my physical therapist. I felt he was rushing and did not have time to provide the care I needed. Then come the billing issues. I have over a $200 credit on my account here. I have called several times since December 2021. The third party billing company they use has submitted a request for them to refund my money several times. Yet the office is not responding and still holding onto this credit since the end of 2021! I would recommend you seek care elsewhere if you want to actually feel cared about, and have any overpayment refunds processed in an acceptable amount of time. I have called, left messages and messaged in the portal with zero returned effort. read more

The entire office was professional. I made an appointment for my shoulder which Dr Frisella previously did surgery on. They got me right in. Everything was explained and test have been set up. Dr Frisella made me feel very comfortable along with his assistant who was also very kind. I would recommend Dr Frisella. read more

Had Core Decompression in May. Woke up postop in recovery in severe pain only to hear the surgeon say that I shouldn't be in that much pain. i could barely walk when I got home and had to use two canes to walk. Wasnt able to walk without a cane since. Post op never saw Dr. Mc Allister but the PA Matt. He kept telling me it will get better. Three holes were drilled for the core decompression and was told only one. Ended up with sciatica on the other side. Sent to PT only to make it worse. Decided to see another ortho and found out after another MRI I have a straw fracture where the core decompression was done. My hip is now starting to collapse and I am now scheduled for hip replacement. Contacted office with the issues and finally on the third try I got a call back from the Office Admin. She was rude and said she would call me back as I asked for a refund of what I paid out of pocket to put toward my scheduled hip replacement. Never got a call back after a week and finally contacted another manager only to say sorry you are in pain but we can't refund you the money. DONE with Advanced Bone and Joint! Find other options for a doctor who really cares. I have that now at least doing my hip replacement. Get referrals before making appointments! I wish I did and learned the hard way only to suffer for months! read more

Back pain? Ain't nobody got time for that. I grew up as a dancer which I enjoyed very much, but I should have known training at a studio that had concrete floors would someday come back to haunt me. I've been having sciatic nerve pain since college, and just recently it got bad enough that I decided to do something about it. Dr. Larkin was able to see me about 4 days after I called, and for that I'm pretty thankful. The forms I had to fill out were painless, and the front desk staff was awesome. I waited maybe 30 minutes or so before I was taken back (which I expected), and was then given a hilarious pair of paper shorts to wear for my x-ray. The x-ray technician was such a cool, nice man! He was cracking jokes with me the whole time and that part only took about ten minutes. He brought me and my paper shorts back to the exam room where I waited to be seen. Dr. Larkin was very friendly and thorough, and had me do a bunch of movements to see what was really going on. Turns out I'm a weirdo and one of my legs is longer than the other (actually my hips are just uneven), and that is what was making my back so messed up. He wrote me a prescription for physical therapy on my SI joint, and I'm really feeling as good as new. This visit and process couldn't have been more ideal. I hope I never have a reason to go back to Advanced Bone & Joint, but if I do, I know they'll take care of it. read more

I went into ABJ for a broken bone in my hand 12/19/22 it was cast, and I was told to return in 2 weeks to get another cast because the swelling would go down. I went in 2 weeks later and was seen by Dr Glisson who said it was healing but needed another cast. The assistant came in and started wrapping my hand/forearm with the batting at that time I told her it felt too tight. She responded that it was as tight as everyone else's and finished the cast and then squeezed the hand/wrist area twice to make sure it was tighter. 5 days later I couldn't feel my thumb and lower hand so I had to chisel off part of the cast since ABJ was close for the holiday. I went the next day to ABJ and told them what happened and they put a new cast on it and said the feeling would come back in 3 days and to return in 10 to have the cast removed because my broken bone should be healed. I returned, the cast was removed and I still had no feeling in my thumb/wrist area. The dr said it looks like I now have carpal tunnel and if its not better in 3 weeks come back now lets put a splint on it for this period. A new assistant came in and put the splint on and said there is a charge for this check out at the front desk. I said I am not paying for this since the new injury was caused by the assistant of ABJ. She told me to call the financial manager to discuss. I called Dana the Finacial manager and twice left voice messages and have not received a call back. So its been one month and my thumb is still numb I can't hold/carry anything with my hand because of pain in my wrist. I can't tell you how upsetting this is not only for myself but also as a caregiver for my husband who is a paraplegic. NOT only do I have a new injury that ABJ caused but now I have to paid for the treatment to get healed. read more

Dr. Frisella is the worse Dr ever. My son is a cancer survivor and has had a Sarcoma removed from his left forearm and then this summer a lipoma off his this by Dr McAllister. He has something going on within his scapula and the Dr just blew him off. He didn't examine him. Didn't look at the MRI and x-rays he brought. He has 2 other Dr.'s tell him it looked liked a tumor and they couldn't diagnose or treat because not their specialty and this Dr. wouldnt even look at it. He is in extreme pain in his shoulder down to his hand with inflammation and to the point he cant use it. He had the balls to ask my son if he has taken a bath in the last couple days!!!! What kind of Dr says that crap to a patient whether he is thinking it or not!! My son knows his body with everything he has been through since he was 21 and get a Dr. that doesn't give a shit and makes it know HE is the DR and didn't care what Drew was telling him. read more

I stood for 10 minutes at the check-in counter signing papers. Really? They were aware I was there with a broken ankle, so this standing check-in was incredibly stupid. When I left, repeat the counter standing with an additional error. They asked me to sign the credit card bill, and it was for an extra $100 and for the treatment of another person. The person who treated me never introduced herself. I spent an hour and a half in that place, and I don't think I ever encountered an MD. I have no idea if they know what they're doing medically, but I do know that requiring patients with bone and joint problems to stand at a counter is stupid. We have seen 3 doctors here. Lombardo, Larkin, & Glueck. All are outstanding full of information and advice and great at what they do. They look at all the options and made you part of the decision making process by educating you. Outstanding surgeons and good post-op care. In house radiology no making separate appointments with a lab. My only complaint is getting through to a human by phone is very difficult at times. read more

This practice makes false claims and the website is nothing but lies. They claim they care about making patients better and helping with their pain, but I was refused service because I have a lawyer working on a worker's compensation case because my stupid company refuses to pay for something that happened on their time. How can a practice claim they care about helping others, when I'm in need of care and have been denied? As soon as the receptionist found out about the lawyer, she began her "sorry to waste your time, I'm hanging up on you speech." They claim it is their policy not to accept anyone who has a lawyer...what a stupid policy. WELL HOW ABOUT THIS...WHY DON'T YOU ADOPT THE POLICY OF HELPING OTHERS NO MATTER WHAT BECAUSE THAT IS YOUR JOB AND WHAT YOUR WEBSITE PORTRAYS!!! This is an outrage! X-ray technician has a great relaxing Bedside manner, clear explanations as well as providing interesting trivia about the history of x-ray machines. Dr. Larkin and his assistant that day, performed a fluid withdrawal on my Baker cyst, and were excellent in making me feel comfortable, and confident in the procedure and the results. Bonus was the fabulous entertainment factor during the procedure. Yet they also made me feel like I was an individual and Important. I am always satisfied with our visits to this facility and THIS particular time, even more so. Highly recommend Advance Bone and Joint to all my friends and family! read more

You matter to them which is unreal in today's day and age. Everyone in the office is fantastic. From the front office staff to the Radiology department to the doctors. I cannot stress enough how much I love this office. Although I wish I didn't have to see them as often as I do. Dr. Meek is present when you speak to him. He's not rushing out the door. Back surgery is inevitable for me and I am terrified. He sat with me and listened to me and dealt with me bawling like a baby. Although I was super embarrassed he didn't bat an eye. He got me thru it. If you need anything they will help. I would assume Dr Lombardo is the same way I have never broken down in front of him but give me time. Buyers Beware! I am experiencing extreme pain and can barely walk on one of my legs. My private Physician referred me to Advanced Bone & Joint in St Peters for follow-up treatment. I called to make an appointment, but was told that I couldn't make an appointment until my previous bill was paid in full. I explained that all previous billings were paid in full on time the last time I was there and that I didn't and shouldn't have any outstanding unpaid bills . She stated to contact collections for further information. I found out that due to their incompetence, a small fee of $13.00 had been left over from a previous submitted insurance claim sometime early in 2014. Something the billing department never told me about. They instead sent it to collections without ever sending me a bill in the mail, or calling me about it. Something that could've been taking care of very easily over the phone. She could've easily told to pay this amount when I came in to see the doctor, but she didn't and denied medical treatment, causing me to undergo further pain and suffering when it was not necessary in the first place. If I would've known about this leftover fee I would of gladly have paid it way back in 2014. All I can say is make sure you check each and every billing statement, and make sure there are no hidden fees that you were unaware of. read more

Dr Glueck was the most compassionate caring doctor I've ever met. He went above the call of duty trying to help my father.

I have an extensive 13 year history of thoracic and lumbar nerve damage, slight bulging of the discs, arthritis, and moderate degenerative disc disease. I recently moved making it impossible to see my former pain physician whom I had built a relationship with and who understood my pain. A family member referred me to these people and I wish I had never gone. I saw a Dr. Meeks who couldn't have been 30. I'm 29 and have had numerous injuries causing me to lose 2 jobs and claim disability (supported by my primary physician), reluctantly. This man told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that I needed more exercise and physical therapy! I have been prescribed the 3 medicines I take for 7 months and THEY WORK! All I needed from these people was continuation of my medicine regiment and another series of spinal injections. Instead, I was interrupted every time I tried to speak and was treated like a drug addict from the time I walked in. I cant believe that these people are in business! They have absolutely no sense or compassion for people! I have been diagnosed the same way by THREE different doctors in the last 2 1/2 years. Yet, despite my MRI and X-ray scans and doctor's findings evidence, I was treated like I was a fool, criminal, and an addict. Im so sorry that I am a rare case and am young, but at least treat me like Im a human being in legitimate pain! read more
