Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. The scheduled time for them to "consult" with us about windows and the front door was 7pm. He took a look around inside and out then pretty much held us hostage with this pitch. He left AFTER 11PM!! This drawing it out tactic, felt predatory and unethical to me; if after an 1 1/2 hrs you haven't signed up that feels* like a good time to be done. Im not sure what kind of sales people drive Teslas and have 4 hour long pitch sessions after 7pm..... but like other people have commented about this business they will try every single thing to get you to sign. Their interest rate was wild at about 17%, with our quote being close to 49k. So on top of their pitch guys being unable to take a hint, they want to charge the cost of a new car for this. Even with their supposed payment plan it would be like paying a brand new car note every month at well over $400 something. Just as a heads up if you could not avoid signing with them in Virginia- the law says buyers have a right to cancel a home solicitation sale until midnight of the third business day after the day when you sign an agreement. Be careful y'all and be diligent in your search to find the right remodeler this was a mistake.

We received an email that the door would arrive at their warehouse by 2/26/26, yet as of today 2/28, there has been NO communication. If the door is installed, I'll update the status on the installation and quality of the door. At present, I'm not certain that I would recommend American Windows.

RESPONSIVENESS - very fast, very responsive, very professional. A tad too frequent, but apparently roof repair is a competitive business. INSPECTION - scheduled and conducted efficiently; exceptionally thorough inspection report (David). COST - in line with all other quotes, which are apparently driven by the insurance estimate. Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. Suspect the new, high-quality roof will increase the townhome value and/or decrease time to sell based on the high-quality products used and overall curb appeal of the work. He also accommodated my inquiry of adding on the installation of a bathroom exhaust vent cap, which was missing when we moved in.
