My boyfriend and I both paid him to work on our cars and he was super informative & knowledgeable. (I will give him that) But he did not fix our vehicles. He did temporary fixes or not even that because the day after both of our vehicles began having more issues + the initial ones he were supposed to fix for us. We both reached out to him multiple times asking could he come back out to resolve. Mind you I never wanted him to come back out for free - it's in my messages me overly offering money to come back out and try to further fix the problem. (ON TOP OF ALREADY PAYING FOR JOBS THAT HE DID NOT FULFILL CORRECTLY..... )Because I realllly did like him and thought we found a good mechanic. I even waited weeks to come post this review because I don't even like doing things like this but this has cost us so much money and one of the vehicles does not even start anymore. It's basically 100 degrees every single day this summer and we are sweating bullets because he failed to fix the sensors/AC issue correctly. It's super frustrating and inconvenient for my family and I and if this is the only way I can get his attention then so be it, cus you don't do people like that! Wasn't good news but he gave me 2 options. First was the minimum that needed to be done. Second was an additional item that really should be done. All said and done, more than I wanted to spend but I still feel he was very fair in his pricing. Been driving the van for a few days now and am very happy with the results. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing I won't be chewing up my tires every few thousand miles. Just as a side note. I did research Cortez Car Care and discovered something amazing. They have been members of the BBB for 23 yrs this year and have not had one single complaint lodged against them in all that time. In any auto related field, especially repair/maintenance, that is a record to be very proud of. I read the reviews from previous customers and decided to make the drive to Beaumont (67 miles) to have a Check Engine Light evaluated on my VW TDI. I got there at 0730 Monday after driving through some nasty rain. First, I was able to drive into the service area, out of the rain and was pleasantly greeted by Andrea who said they would try to work me in since I didn't have an appointment. I was able to wait comfortably in their well stocked waiting area. I had internet, tv and a quiet place to relax. There were several customers who had appointments that were promptly taken care of. I was glad to see that they were taken care of quickly. Everyone there was super nice to me while I waited. I had settled in thinking I was going to be there awhile but Andrea approached me after about 2 hours and said my car was done, they had replaced 2 glow plugs which were covered under warranty (2012 Jetta) and there was no charge. This experience made my early get up, nasty drive and not knowing what the problem was very pleasant. I would definitely go back for service and will plan on shopping there for my next Volkswagen.

NIck came back and told me my note would be about $520 I asked him if he added the GAP and he said no it would probably go up a few dollars. After a while I was called back to sign paperwork. I was told I was given DOTS to tell my car insurance and that I had oil changes too. I signed where I was told to sign and went home. I checked my paperwork again because I did not understand why my note was higher than I expected and I had put $3500 down. That was when I saw I was not GIVEN anything, I paid for it. They put all these extras on my note before I was shown my paperwork because my note was already high and nobody asked me if I wanted anything. I was given Appearance protection for $1495, Data Dots for $995, and a car care maintenance plan for $1500 on top of my GAP that I said was all I needed. That's an extra $3990 of fluff that I did not want or need. I called Thursday to talk to the Sales manager Devin about the extra $3900 in services I was GIVEN and he never called me back. I would have to be SLOW to agree to all these extras knowing that I put $3500 down, that ate up my down payment plus $400. I have not purchased a vehicle in the Golden Triangle since 2008 when I bought at 2007 Camry from Philpott. Since then I have driven to Houston to get a vehicle. The first time I get a vehicle from this area for convenience I am baboozled. I do not care to hear back from Doggett unless they are willing to redo my paperwork minus these un necessities. It cannot be buyers remorse when you did not know you are buying it. They have to paperwork put together where you sign saying you know you are buying these services but nothing was highlighted for you to see. After relocating from California to Texas, we began noticing a severe vibration coming from the…read morefront of our commuter car. The vibration was present at all speeds but became much worse as our speed increased. Since traffic here routinely moves at 80+ mph, the issue quickly became impossible to ignore. We were concerned that the wheel bearings or other major suspension components were failing. Over the past several weeks, we took the car to multiple repair shops and received recommendations to replace everything from all four shocks and struts to wheel bearings, brake rotors, and other suspension components. Before committing to thousands of dollars in repairs, we decided to make one last attempt to properly diagnose the problem and brought the car to Mike Smith Auto & Tire. After speaking with Justin, we immediately felt like we were being heard. He took the time to listen to every concern we had, and one of his technicians even drove the car at highway speeds to experience the vibration firsthand--something no other shop was willing to do because of "insurance reasons," despite being located just minutes from the highway. When the technician returned, Justin invited us into the shop and walked us through the diagnostic process. With the car on the lift, we spun all four wheels and quickly discovered the real culprit: all four tires were severely out of round. They had developed high and low spots, causing the vibration we had been chasing all along. It was surprising that no previous shop had taken the time to inspect the tires before recommending extensive suspension repairs. Justin and his crew were straightforward, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, honest. They never tried to upsell us on unnecessary repairs and only recommended what was actually needed. While we didn't purchase new tires that day because these still have several thousand miles of tread life remaining, there's no question where we'll be buying our next set when the time comes. This time around it took 45min to say your tires are to worn to patch(not a problem, i understand) car was in bay for at least half of that time. I told desk girl it shoudlnt take 45 min to measure tread depth and it hurt her feelings. She quit talking when said give me my keys, real tire pro. As i was leaving and tech was removing wrong wheel and had wrong work ticket attached to my vehicle, he thought I was getting 4 new tires. They couldn't give me tires at this point. Please stay far away!!
