Our experience was great, there and back. We had a group trip of 11 people. The car was clean, comfortable ride and our Chauffeur, Micheal was the best. He was very professional, friendly, he opened the door for us and asked if we needed anything, took care of our luggage's and reassured us of things without even asking. Very prompt. He was well before time. He made it nice and easy for a great start on the 1st day of our vacation to Mexico and it was nice to see him again on our return home. We had a great, safe experience and would recommend your services to others and will continue to use your service for future reference for our next family group trips. Just terrible. Was supposed to pick my wife up at airport. Requested meet and greet inside terminal. When my wife was waiting for driver, dispatcher called and told her the driver was having "payment issues" and could not park his car and could not meet her as promised. She took a taxi home instead. Two weeks later get a bill for $225, tip included! Complained, just sent me to voicemail. In an era of Uber, Lyft etc., why bother with such a service? Take you business somewhere else... read more

I called for a same day pick-up as flight was cancelled into Newark and incoming flight was now JFK. Answering service was wonderful. Very professional and pleasant to deal with. Paid for the trip, got my confirmation # and was set. Called 1/2 hr later to get drivers name and car #. The rudest man answered the phone and told me he left a msg for the passenger that he couldn't do the pick up and practically hung up on me! At a time when local businesses are hurting, customer service or lack thereof is very unprofessional and I would not recommend them!! Find someone else!! read more

These guys were great, prompt, and professional. I live in California and had to hire them to pick up my mom from JFK and take her into the city for a funeral. They were so professional and easy to work with that we hired them again a week later to bring my mother back to the airport for her flight home. They were everything you hope a car service driving your mother would be; clean cars, promptly at the correct pick-up location, professional and friendly. Very disappointed with my experience with Advanced Car Service. I had arranged for a driver to pick me up at 11:58 PM from Newark airport. When I landed I thought it was strange that I didn't see a text from the driver stating he was there so I called the company. The woman told me the driver "was not answering and his phone was going straight to voicemail". After waiting for 20 minutes, I decided to call the company and cancel the ride because it was late, I had been traveling all day and was tired of waiting. THIRTY MINUTES later I received a text saying my driver had arrived after I had already called to cancel. I was then billed the next day and when I called to ask why I was billed after their driver was obviously very late the woman on the phone lied and said my driver was there when I had originally called from baggage claim (I did not have a bag to claim, I called as I was walking through out of the terminal). The woman refused to reimburse me even though she admitted the driver was in fact late but only by "12 minutes". I will never use this car service again. This is why people use uber and lyft. read more

DON'T USE THIS CAR COMPANY! !!!!!!!!! This car company is a complete rip off, the driver took me on a "scenic route" which added another 5 miles to the trip and instead of 15 minutes it took half an hour to get to my destination. The $50 quote doubled when it was time to pay and I never saw a cab meter or I would have gotten out regardless of the importance of my doctor's visit. They show up early and get you there on time. Price is competitive with uber for a large family. These drivers know what they are doing. That is the difference. I had a friend take uber to the airport, they got lost and missed the flight. That doesn't happen with Advanced Car Service. Professional drivers that help you with everything. Nice clean cars. Smoke and mirrors operation. They have a fancy online reservation service and Email confirmation system but apparently no cars or drivers. "Carl" was supposed to pick us up at LGA but when he didn't materialize as promised we called and were told by the manger that "someone else"had got in the car and miraculously convinced the driver to take them to a destination in the opposite direction than the driver had been instructed. Apparently the fancy reservation was never communicated. ACS manager indicated there was "nothing he could do" - how about 20% off our next reservation? Thanks ACS - not likely. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The ONLY reason this company got a start is because Yelp requires an entry. Advanced Car Service provided by far the WORST cab experience I have ever experienced. Scheduling my pick up was a breeze and Stephanie, the coordinator, was so polite and helpful. I DL'ed the app and scheduled my pick up location, drop off location, time, and car type request. I called Stephanie back to confirm all that information. The morning of the pick up I received a phone call from (I believe) Joe confirming that I ordered a taxi and not a larger vehicle. We again confirmed pick up location, drop off location, and time. Shortly after I received an email (1 of 7) that informed me that my driver would be there 10 minutes before the pick up time. That evening, myself and a guest were waiting 10 minutes before the pick up time outside of the pick up location, but there was no driver. At the pick up time I called the dispatcher to see what the ETA was, he told me driver is running late and hung up. It was after 2 phone calls later the taxi showed up, which was 20 minutes late. He then proceeded to have NO CLUE where we were going. A ride that should have taken 40 minutes took 1.5hours. Honestly if the driver didn't know where I lived, I would have never paid him. And after sending an awful review back to the company, the owner of 16 years, tried to tell me that I THE PAYING CUSTOMER was in the wrong. That I did not provide the correct drop off location (during any of the 4 confirmations) and that the driver was early when in fact he was late. read more

I had been unhappy with other car services when taking my mother to appointments as they were not willing to assist me with walker, getting her into car, etc...Suzanne was great and helped us a lot getting the walker in and out and literally taking us up to the front door of the building! CAREFUL!!! The only nice thing I can say is the car was nice and the driver on time...but look out when you get your credit card bill. I was quoted $50.00 for my ride to NY Presbyterian Hospital and $50.00 for the ride back. I gave the same driver a $30.00 tip ($15.00 each way) I get my credit card bill and find an additional charge for $15.68 and $89.87!!!! Supposedly taxes and the driver decided to take another tip.. SHADY!! Thank goodness for American Express because you can bet I disputed this. Called the company and said they will not be getting the 2 additional charges. If I could give a negative star I would. Very rude uncouth people who talk to you. Trashy customer service. Sent me a way too small car despite my saying that I needed a specific size and reiterating by calling back and saying I needed that size and do not send me a smaller car, I will not pay for it. They sent me a too small van, charged me the full amount for it, threatened to call the cops when I protested that it was too small and therefore I did not want to pay. Hung up on me. I have used Advanced Car Service for years and have always had a very positive experience. The booking is very easy, especially with the app. I receive constant email updates as to the driver's arrival time and they are always punctual. The drivers are unfailingly helpful, courteous and professional and the cars are clean and well maintained. The one time I didn't see the driver exactly where I expected-a busy NYC building with many entrances-the dispatcher stayed on the phone with me until we connected. During a summer trip back from the airport the driver even had water for us. I highly recommend Advanced for any transportation needs. read more

I was charged $300 for a round trip from Dumont To Barclays in Brooklyn, it took 2 hours to get there and over 2 hours to get home, a fee or car type wasn't given to me as an option!! I use this car service for my elderly mother. They are great! They are always on time, with polite and helpful drivers. If my mother has a doctor appointment, they wait for her and help her from the building to the car, of from her house to the car. They are reliable. I have read the other review, and have had no problems whatsoever, and highly recommend them to others. read more

I strongly suggest you avoid this company if possible. It is used by the (very good) Clinton Inn Hotel in Tenafly: on several mornings I needed to get to Edgewater but on two occasions the car was late and on the second of these it was not only 15 mins late but the driver took the wrong route, taking 40mins for a max 25min journey and making me late for appointments throughout the morning. On a Sunday morning the driver claimed to have no change. Apparently they are often late when booked by the hotel and yet seem to appear magically early when the booking is for an airport! The hotel was not able to make bookings the night before, and I was at a loss to know how early in the morning they should be called as it didn't seem to make any difference. Whatever you do, DO NOT RELY ON THIS CAR SERVICE COMPANY. I phoned the company on March 30, 2013, at 1:10 pm to request a car from my home in Tenafly, to the Secaucus station, exit 15X on the NJ turnpike. I was quoted a price of $50.00 for this trip, and was told that the car would be in front of my home at 1:45 pm. At 1:45 pm, when the car was no where to be found, I phoned the company only to be told by the dispatcher that "the car would not be available for this call." I had to jump into my car, stitches and all after having had surgery two days prior, to drive my daughter to the train station so that she could catch her train. The service provided by this company is substandard, to say the very least. If the car was unavailable, then I should have been told so during my initial contact with the dispatcher. I would've have happily phoned other services in the area. Again, if you have a time frame that you need to stay within, THIS IS NOT THE CAR SERVICE TO TRUST. read more
