Customer service and patient care begin at the front desk, and unfortunately, our experience fell far below what I would expect from a medical office.

While the birth of her child should have…read morebeen a positive and empowering experience, it was deeply overshadowed by the conduct of Dr. Siegel from Oceanside OB, who attended the delivery at Shore Medical Center. From the outset--and throughout her prenatal care--Dr. Siegel was rude, dismissive, and condescending. On multiple occasions, my daughter left her prenatal appointments visibly upset and would call me crying due to his inappropriate remarks and dismissive attitude toward her questions, concerns, and preferences. Her hope was that he would not be the delivering provider. This pattern of behavior continued into her labor and delivery. My daughter went into labor spontaneously, yet the doctor's first interaction with her during labor was to enter the room with an unprofessional attitude and state that she would "never be able to do this naturally." He showed little regard for her wishes or birth plan, particularly her desire for an unmedicated, natural labor--an experience she had successfully achieved with her first child. The only reason my daughter chose Oceanside OB and Shore Medical Center was due to proximity to her new home, as it was closer than the birthing center where she delivered her first child. At one point during labor, my daughter expressed that being there felt "like being in prison," which was heartbreaking to hear. As a registered nurse with nearly 20 years of experience--much of it in labor and delivery--I was profoundly disturbed by Dr. Siegel's behavior. What further compounded this negative experience was the conduct of the assigned nurse, Meaghan, who was also rude and unprofessional. She failed to provide compassionate care and made no effort to advocate for my daughter during labor. This experience fell far short of the standard of care that any patient, particularly a laboring mother, deserves. I am grateful that I was there along with my daughter's significant other, who supported her every step of the way, leading to her goal of a beautiful natural labor and delivery.

Office is dated, old, cluttered and dirty. You would want a clean office in which to take all your…read moreclothes off, but you won't find it here. Expect a long wait and no doctor. You will not be seeen by a doctor, you will be seen only by wanna be doctors. The doctor hires young girls in their 20's and charges you as if you were seen by an MD but you weren't!. All the staff are rude and ask questions like "What is your s*xual orientation?" I said, "I'm married." The answer was "Well, if you were to have s*x with someone else, which gender would you choose?" Horrible! The receptionist called me and said I have to be back in 6 weeks. I said I'll call back later. Katelyn(the one with the Glamour photo on the website - Hah!) then called me all angry screaming, "You must come back every 6 weeks. It's not safe." I don't expect anyone to raise their voice with me. I'll find a real MD who sees patients. Goodbye.

I can't not even one star I had a gynecologist appointment on January 3 at 2:45. I waited a week…read morefor this appointment and I took a half a day at work to get to when I receptionist told me to sign in. Then I sat out. The guy medical assistant said that Dr. Bergen left I stated I appointment at 2:45 and he tells me I understand. I'm very sorry but the doctor has here. I'm very I'm boiling so he says let me check with the other doctor to see if she can squeeze you in so I said please he came back stated that she had no openings and there's nothing they can do I stated why didn't I get a phone call or a text stating that the doctor will not be of me leaving work early and here and he tells me he's sorry again sorry he's not gonna . This is unprofessional towards the patient and inconvenience. He asked me that I wanna make an appointment. I said no absolutely not. I'm going to Atlantic care they treat you so much better there.
