His mechanic happened to have the part on a bike he wasn't using, so I was able to pick up the bike within an hour. Awesome friendly service bothe times going above and beyond. 5 Stars for service! Last minute change in the weather opened an opportunity for me to follow through with my proposal plans for my lady. Only condition was with my rear sprocket ground down to slippage, and no one carries the kit for a 2005 CBR1000RR, so i was SOL! Luckily i found Advanced Cycle, "bring it in we'll take care of it" he said. Little did i know that they would eventually use there own mechanics newly ordered CBR sprocket kit to hook me up. That day i rode her out to San Gregorio State Beach to supposedly look at a Harley this guy had for sale. He never showed up* So i got on one knee and explained there was no bike, only Her. Jim was very professional and made it so easy for me to trust him with my very first motorcycle. It needed to be adjusted and lowered a bit since I'm very petite. I'm leaving a review on behalf of my husband. Jim and his team at Advanced Cycle Services is awesome! We were in the process of selling one of our Ducati's and on the day a buyer was coming to see the bike, he realized that the bike had some issues. Jim squeezed him in and we were able to sell the bike that day! After relocating to the Bay Area, I started looking for a good repair shop. Jim came highly recommended. Jim Davis has been working on motorcycles in the Bay Area for years. Whether you like the motorcycle mounted police or not, these guys seriously depend on their mounts. Advanced Cycle has been working on my Ducati 999 for a few years now and I don't trust anyone else. Jim's customer service, knowledge, workmanship and prices simply cannot be beat. Trust me I've checked....I drive all the way from Tracy to get my Ducati to Advanced Cycle. What you see is what you get, a pleasant straightforward experience minus the pretentious attitude usually found at a Ducati shop. I brought my 999 in a couple of weeks ago for an oil change And to have CRG levers installed. Jim and his crew helped me take the bike down from my truck and then load it back up that same afternoon when they finished. I will continue to make the hour plus long journey to Advanced cycle and strongly encourage others to do the same....or you could go to one of the bay area's many fancy overpriced Ducati dealers and literally throw money in the trash. I've had all my bikes serviced in the shop. Last time it was simple tire change and what a difference it made! With the tire change: they've repaired the rear axle, adjusted the gear shifter, fixed the rear tire clearance, setup everything up to specs, tire pressure, brakes, chain clearance, etc. The bike feels and rides as new. Took my Duc 996 to Mr Jim davis. And got to honest answer to my question. He evaluated my bike and told me options about how he can fix it. Mr Davis is a great guy and helped me out a lot. Jim Davis is well-known in the Ducati community for having previously been a mainstay of Nichols Manufacturing. He's now opened up his own shop next to Helimot in San Jose. I brought my Ducati Monster 695 here for my 12K servicing and have since been back for other smaller services. Jim handles one of the best run shops in San Jose if not the whole South Bay. Took my R6 in for a tire change and he went ABOVE AND BEYOND what was required. He answered all the noob questions that I might have had. He offered to lube and clean my chain because the previous owner obviously neglected basic maintenance. The shift lever on my rear set was slightly bent as well and they straightened it out free of charge. His pricing rates are more competitive than any shop in the area (trust me, I called every shop and they were asking double what Jim charged me) Best shop, hands down! Very quality work. Even before going into the shop, Jim was already giving me advice over the phone. Most shop will just tell you yes, we'll do it, what ever you like(even if its bad for your motorcycle). Not with Jim, he'll explained why i should or should not have things done to my bike and goes into great detail. His prices are fair and the quality of the service is superb. He'll gladly work with you if you have a tight schedule. I had my 600 miles service done and ordered a pair of Pazzo levers through Jim.(he'll install them for free!). This shop is off the hook. I've been out if the motorcycle loop for about 40 years. I decided to buy a used 2004 Yamaha 1100 V Star Classic. The bike was sitting unused for 4 years and barely ran. Jim is one of the best mechanics i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I got quoted at calmoto for well over 600 for the work i wanted to get done on my Triumph bike (basic work) and i somehow stumbled across Advanced Cycle from a different review on calmoto. It was really close to me and the after speaking with Jim on the phone, i had a good vibe about his place. I took my bike in and got quoted for 150 for the same amount of work! Jim got to my bike quick, called me the next morning and the work was outstanding! Everything he did to the bike he explained in great detail and was great to talk to. I rode the bike the rest of the day through an entire tank and it has never rode so well! I highly recommend Jim and Advanced Cycles.
