Great service, great people, they took very good care of my bike and got me out quickly

I wouldn't recommend. Went in for an oil change, tire swap and rear suspension. Noticed an odd vibration when I picked it up, no weights on front tire. Came back, after taking a tongue lashing about how I was wrong, they agreed to put it on the balancer, it was not balanced, he "balanced it". Weights fell off on the way home I called and informed him, didn't have time the same day but was still doubting me. Waste of a lot of time. Took it to a different shop, front tire out of balance AND the rear tire was on backwards. This shop seems to do serious engine work and has great looking expensive equipment, but I can say they aren't good at changing tires. No offer to refund any $$ that it cost to get the job done correctly. Kinda SHADY. read more

Sold the rigid, bought a '91 FXR-S. Something weird, was not charging. I know I could take a few hours, run through all the troubleshooting, and figure it out..... but? Bernard would be able to look at it, smile, and tell me exactly what was wrong in under a minute. He looked, he said the Stator plug coming out of the crankcase was bad, indicating the stator and regulator probably needed some love. I had taken 3 days off my not-fun job, to ride around, recharge my soul, and? now the new-used bike is down. I understand. RAM is the best shop around. ALL lifts are full. This may take time. LESS THAN 24 HOURS! My Street Glide was down for awhile due to engine problems and it's hard finding shops you can trust. I was searching and came across RAM products. I went in and met Bernard Sr and explained my dilemma. He explained what procedures they would do and what I should expect. I left my bike with them. Nice guy Bernard , and that's why 2 rather than one star . My 75 SuperGlide needed a once over as it had been sitting...front brake disc replacement and a carb rebuild primarily, as well as an oil change and a gas tank repair. Long story short, I had to go back twice and he still couldn't make it run right...this is after I spent about $1500 with him...so I took the carb off and apart myself and guess what ? She runs perfect ...like magic ! What was the problem you ask ? Well...he didn't rebuild the carb or even take it apart ! There was old gas and gunk inside still...original pin and seat, old gaskets etc ....basically he lied and said he did work he did not do. It's pretty sad that places like this can make it in Sqn jose ...just not enough good shops around I guess. read more

I just went to this shop today. Just like most people said on Yelp, I had a great experience at RAM. The garage is clean and organized. That's usually a good sign of a great mechanic shop. Both Bernard and Mark were super friendly to me and knowledgeable on bikes. They do whatever it needs to be done. No sugar coating or bs stuff. I stayed at the garage and looked at how Bernard worked on my bike. From the way he worked on my bike, I know I can trust this mechanic. And no doubt their price is very fair with the quality you get from them. I ended up paying about half of what I would have paid to a dealership. I'm stranded on the side of the road when my clutch goes at 8:30pm. Call for a tow and nobody comes for 2 hours, when they did however, these guys were still working and said bring it by. Next day the clutch is fixed for a reasonable price and I'm riding again that evening. Was hard to put in neutral at first but after some miles it slides right in now. read more

Well, I cant say enough great things about Bernard and family. I brought in a custom build that I had bought that had been sitting for a couple of years. Needless to say there was quite a few things to get worked out on it. RAM knows whats up, they identified some problems and a few that would have left me stranded that I had no idea about when I bought the bike, replaced everything that needed to and saved me as much as possible. RAM has amazing hours, competitive pricing for labor, and usually has or can quickly get any part you need. Bernard is a good, hard working guy - but I can see why some people might be rubbed the wrong way - he just doesn't have time for BS since he has everyone bringing bikes to him all day expecting to be catered to immediately. That said, I have never had faster turnaround on service than at RAM. Again, RAM will not magically fix everything for no money - but if you're clear with Bernard about what you want, and actually know what the f#$% you're talking about - you'll have a fixed bike, fast, and for far less than you'll ever spend at a dealer. If you're the type that thinks they know more than a mechanic with 30 years+ experience - then sure, go have fun overpaying at SJ Harley where the kids working on your $24,000 Road Glide weren't even alive when Bernard was hot rodding shovelheads. I'll take my bike to Bernard when the fix is above my pay grade and be back on the road before you. read more
