Just take it somewhere else." No updates. No inspection. Yet they charged me $80 for "diagnosis" and quoted $90 for a $20 relay part. Thursday (7/10): I called because it was the promised inspection day.   You said other bikes were ahead, so mine would be delayed. We discovered Rick Carmona's new shop, RMC Moto, in Santa Clara, about 10 miles from our house. He identified Henri's tire problem immediately, and explained the need for new tires for the Suzuki. Rick invited us into his inner sanctum, a well-appointed and tidy work shop, where he explained the tire's date code. We sat down together in his office and he ordered new IRC tires. My Guzzi needed new rotors, brake pads, oil and air filter change, and the gear oil checked out. I decided on new Michelin tires as well, and brought my Guzzi in to Rick's shop the next day. Henri's tires came in the following day, and we took care of the Suzuki. Both bikes have been handled with care by a true professional and a gentleman, something not all motorcycle dealers in the Bay Area can boast. This shop was the first place I went to for motorcycle repairs. At first it was great. Rick is an outgoing technician, and his work was done well and quick. However, the end of 2018 I took my brand new tire in to get mounted and balanced. After a day of riding the next day the tire was flat. I called 3 different times in the afternoon and the calls were all hung up. I was confused because he was always willing to talk before. I could not find the problem and had to leave the bike sitting because of some personal issues. When it came time to repair my tire I brought it to my nearest shop and they found the tire damaged on the sidewall. From my knowledge it was upon installation. I was at the shop and they let me tag along to teach me how to look for leaks. Before it was removed we found the leak with soapy water on video. So after getting a new tire I reached out to Rick to ask what he thought on the situation and he gave his opinion saying it was upon removal. With what I saw it was damaged exactly where we found the leak. He then gave me a slightly arrogant remark saying "you're welcome to come in so I can show you how we remove tires properly." Also the tire could have been damaged before installation and missed while it was being installed. I look at tires before I go get them mounted. That damage was not there before. My main problem is that it was mounted and he let me ride on it when it could have gotten worse while riding. If he did know about it, he just needed to be honest with me. He does good work majority of the time, but if there was a mistake during installation I would have hoped him to be honest with me about it. In my opinion after all was said and done, it makes more sense of why my calls were declined after he installed my tire. Sorry to say, but I won't be back. read more

I have been coming here for bike repairs and services. Last week, I brought my Yamaha V Star 250 with a rear luggage rack and a Givi top box already installed. I basically wanted to removed the existing top box and put in a new one with the brake lights. Here is what he charged me for labor: 1. $120 for the top box replacement. 2. $30 to clean up the dusts in the rear wheel. When I picked up my bike, the rear wheel noise was still there, and he tried to blame the person that replaced the brakes. He would not allow me to test drive before paying. My recommendation: A. Go to Evolution Motorcycles or Santa Clara Cycles for all your needs. B. Don't let this guy over charge you for repairs. C. He will only repair or replace if you buy parts from him. D. I will provide receipts as evidence for verification. E. Don't buy tires from this place. read more
