Took my mother today, going solely off the commercial. I should preface by saying my mom is 81 and we knew she would need to have her bottom teeth removed. What a great experience from start to finish! We were welcomed by name as soon as we entered and taken on a friendly tour of the beautiful office space and patient rooms. The waiting room is equipped with something to keep everyone busy, including a room with iPads etc. for the young ones. Each patient room has a large flat screen Smart TV for you to choose what you'll peruse as they fix your pearly whites. Every person in the office welcomed us with a friendly, genuine smile, handshake and introduced themself as we passed. When it was my mom's turn, the doctor came and spoke about her plan, wants and needs. He was calm and soothing and respectful of her age and concerns. He needed x-rays first and then would see her further. The technician arrived and explained where they were going and what they were doing which really put my mom at ease. Quickly after thereafter my mom met with the doctor for her assessment. Again, Dr. D'Orlando was patient and kind and assured my mother everything was ok, while explaining exactly what he would be doing. Upon finishing, we were created by their billing staff who reviewed everything with us and explained payments, etc. Everyone in this office is amazing! Kind, professional and HUMAN! I discovered Advanced DDS from Yelp. My first appointment was about an hour. I didn't have to wait long at all. A nice woman came and gave me a tour of the entire office-even the behind the scenes machines. They have a cute area for children. I met with the dentist, he was very kind and thorough. Great experience for my 20 month old daughter. I was nervous at first, it was her first dental visit. I was not sure how she would behave, but ultimately she did very well. Dr. Sybil and her dental assistant Sabrina worked so well with my daughter. They both know how to handle toddlers. There was a coordinated effort to distract my daughter, allowing Dr. Sybil to do her job. It was quick, but thorough. Explanation, discussion, and education was provided after the cleaning. Then I was introduced to what I hope will be my permanent dentist, the amazing Dr. Policastro. I had to get a complicated infection and extraction performed and actually chose standard anesthetic. With the great team of Dr. Policastro and Fallon, I didn't feel a thing. Excellent place, excellent people, 3rd visit and what a relief it is to have an absolutely amazing dentist in Dr. Policastro. What an absolute pleasure, I am beyond happy and impressed. They welcomed me with open arms from the minute I walked in to the office. Sara, greeted me with such warmth and made me feel welcome. OVERPRICED. DON'T FALL FOR THE COMMERCIALS. Furthermore, I remember advanced DDS when they were a small office run in my local town on Long Island. And not only that, but the only "gift" they gave was a soft baked cookie from Mrs. Fields...none of this care package gift basket nonsense. Also, useless monogrammed loot aside, I was met by an entourage of women that I had to shake hands with and be introduced to, and then I was taken on a tour of their office and everyone stopped and waved hello to me like I was on a factory tour at Hershey Park. While you wait before your appointment, they have a fully stocked refrigerator complete with Starbucks carbonated drinks and bottled iced coffee, Pellegrino water and juice, orange juice and how could we forget the cappuccino machine!! Isn't it contradictory to your craft and expertise to be serving coffee, sugary and artificially colored drinks and carbonated drinks to your clients minutes before they enter your room for a cleaning or procedure? Pretty sure you never served that with your cookies years ago. One last thing. Whoever is hired to write the rebuttals to genuine reviews and experiences at advanced DDS needs another job. How dare you try and defend what happened to someone and then write up a list of reasons why it may have happened or how you wish them all the best of luck and success in their future endeavors. Received a gift card as a reward for paying full price plus for work done to my wife's teeth. Oh what a joy. NOT! After swearing that the gift card would cover the price of a cleaning for myself, my suspicions were confirmed that this was truly the old shell game reconstituted. The catch was the examination fee was equal to the cleaning price. Naturally as expected I could not get a cleaning without this prior examination after driving 50 miles each way in my gas guzzling sports car. The V8 twin turbo seemed ok when I bought it. LOL Avoid these deceptive practices by going to a reputable dentist with high moral values that cares what happens to their customers. Beware of this Trojan horse. A very shady place. When you call for prices you get the run around, uuuhhh, wwweee'lllll. I had made an appointment but after getting this price run around (again), I decided to call other places. I called this office back to try to compare but found out even after I explained everything, that the appointment I had wasn't to take care of my prob., but for an evaluation. I told these people I was told by my dr. And dentist I needed emergency surgery on an abscess, not an evaluation today and emergency surgery another day. When I called to try to compare, the girl on the phone was being so rude and bugging me asking me if I'm coming in, I said let me call back, she insisted I tell her right then and there, wouldnt give me time to think about it, saying in a nasty way, other people are waiting! I was in his other office once before for a problem, instead on focusing on the problem, I get this crazy bill on what needs to be done in the future, including cosmetics. These people only care about the money. This time I ended up at LI oral on Middle Country in selden and these guys had no prob. Giving prices and so far I've seen 2 surgeons and both were very nice, funny, gentle and did a great job, I feel great. The girls at the desk are great, no b.s.. they offer sedation & gas if needed. But after that they gave her an estimate of over 4000.00 worth of work. She went for a second opinion and most of the work they told her she needed was a complete lie!! I've been a patient of Dr. Raskin for over 10 years. Great practice. Starting with their punctuality. Don't recall ever waiting more than five minutes for my appointment (rare with any medical practice, in my experience). Office always has the newest technology and equipment. Beyond routine cleanings and fillings I've needed a couple of crowns over the years and Dr. Raskin is an artist! Never had a problem with the work done. Highly recommended! read more

Initially I found this office by calling 1800 DENTISTS. I was looking for places that had open availability and would accept my insurance. 5 minutes prior to my scheduled time by the 3rd party agency a representative from Advanced DDS calls me and says would I like an appointment in the afternoon. I quickly told her no because I was already promised a 10 am spot and I was already outside the facility. She assured me she would take me now! The office is beautiful up to date and even included a very cute welcome basket! I came in with a toothache and the doctor coerced me into getting a full check up on all my teeth. This ran me 176 dollars with all my insurances. It was originally 300 plus dollars. I expected at least a cleaning and full check up visit. I was told I have some loose fillings and need a root canal and was sent on my way. Without insurance he cost of the root canal is 4K!!! With it it's 2k . I didn't realize they were out of network with almost all insurances so I politely declined. Jessica the Financial advisor was trying to make me ask for an increase on my care credit card. I think 4 thousand dollars for a root canal is ludicrous as well as 300 dollars for her to poke around my mouth with a metal tool. The experience was nice the place was lovely. The reason it gets 3 stars is because it is too expensive seems like they're always trying to up-sell you even with things such as laughing gas. I understand it is a business and I'm sure they do great work I just think the prices suggest how they keep the decor so fancy. read more
