I've been a patient at this office for several years, and while my dental health has always been very good, I've repeatedly felt pressured by the hygienists/doctors to purchase extra products or agree to additional procedures that didn't seem necessary. Last year I called to express my overall dissatisfaction as well as my desire to no longer move forward with the office as a patient, but the customer care agent convinced me to try a different hygienist (which I did, and that subsequent visit was fine). At my most recent routine cleaning visit, my cleaning was done by a visiting dentist who told me I had two cavities that would need to be drilled and filled. I then asked the regular dentist (Dr. Talwar) to confirm those findings, and while she did confirm the presence of the two alleged cavities, she also mentioned that they were "pretty small" and would be easy to repair. She even offered to do the procedure during that same visit since it wouldn't require anesthetic. The whole situation felt very misaligned from my actual oral health history, especially given that I have *never* had a cavity before, so I decided to get a second opinion before undergoing an irreversible treatment. A week later, I visited a different dental office with excellent referrals, and that dentist reviewed my X‑rays and examined my teeth. She quickly determined that there were zero cavities to be found in any of my teeth, and that I have a very healthy mouth overall. When I asked her to hone in on the two specific teeth that the Advanced Dental Care team had identified as having "cavities", the new doctor explained that those teeth have natural anatomical grooves which the other dentists may have interpreted as early-onset areas of decay...but she was very clear that there was no clinical basis for drilling into any of my teeth. I'm SO glad that I trusted my instincts in this situation, but it's unsettling to think I was advised to undergo unnecessary dental work (especially after their long pattern of upselling leading up to this point). I'm sharing this so that other patients know to advocate for themselves and seek second opinions if something doesn't feel right. I also hope that the Advanced Dental Care team reflects on this experience, because trust is a crucial foundation of any healthcare relationship. I do want to specifically thank the administrative team at this office for always being very courteous and customer-service focused...I've always greatly appreciated your helpful attention anytime I've needed help with scheduling or billing issues. Though I will no longer be a patient at this office, I wish this team all the best in the future. read more

Absolutely exceptional team. Unbelievable experience. I have been terrified to go back to a dentist due to very painful cleanings and bad experiences. I finally booked an appointment to try a new office and I am so so so so glad I did. The hygienist, Gela, is a treasure. It is the first time in over 15 years that a cleaning has not been a white knuckle of pain experience. I have extremely sensitive gums and exposed nerves? root? I don't know but my gum line is receding so badly I need a graft so whatever it is I am terrified of cleanings and would rather get a cavity drilled due to it. Well I literally almost fell asleep during my cleaning Gela was so gentle. I literally cried relief and happiness afterward (and I usually have to get numbed for a cleaning and it still hurts so I'm blown away by Gela). I felt so relaxed that even at the end when I was told I needed 2 new cavities drilled, 4 old fillings drilled out and replaced and a gum graft I was like eh no problem this place is gentle and kind I can do that (coming from someone who has anxiety and my palms usually sweat just walking in for a cleaning). The office manager and front desk manager were both absolutely exceptional as well. I appreciated their kindness and also that Barbara sits down with you to make sure she covers any fears and concerns you have. My wife and I are really happy with Raymond Mikhail and Advanced Dental Care. We're giving 5 stars for Rebecca though, because she remembers us each time we call, goes out of her way to answer all of our questions in detail, and makes sure we know exactly how much we'll be paying. She makes absolutely sure that we're taking advantage of our insurance. We're moving to Tysons Corner and still plan to drive back to Leesburg for this place. I highly recommend them. They're located in the Village at Leesburg, in the community of apartments/stores around the Wegmans supermarket. read more

terrible service, I went in last Thursday and my appointment was at 9:00am I was told they weren't sure if my insurance was accepted at that facility (why not ask me if my insurance had changed at the time of the appointment) I was told to go back in the day around 3:00pm. At around 2:00pm I still hadn't received any answer and had to call just to be told the insurance is incorrect, I than gave my insurance info. Very interesting how it only took minutes to verify my coverage after I provided the correct info. Fast forward to my appointment, the dental tech and the dentist were great, they recommended invisaligne. I asked for an estimate and I was told that I should have an answer by Friday it is now Tuesday and I'm yet to hear about my estimate. Whoever is in charge of updating clients should look into a career change because none of this is customer service. read more

Recently moved into the area and needed to find a more convenient dentist. Started with PPOs in my dental plan then read reviews. Decided to give Dr. Mikhail a try. I was not disappointed. They have an immaculately clean, top-of-the-line facility. Everyone there is extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Dr. Mikhail makes sure your comfortable and keeps checking on your comfort during any procedure. I had to have a crown replaced and was expecting the usual 2 weeks of wearing a temporary crown while my permanent crown was manufactured elsewhere. Nope! Like I said, top-of-the-line facility. Dr. Mikhail manufactures the custom made crown while you wait. Incredible! He did the custom design work on the computer right in front of me, then showed me the machine that was shaping the porcelain right across the hall. As a cherry on top, they even give you a disposable, biodegradable, hot towel to refresh yourself with when done. So far, I've had 2 cleanings, 2 filling replacements, a crown replacement, and zero complaints. read more

I have never been so comfortable seeing a dentist as when I come in for work here. I feel completely taken care of and listened to. I love how they actually sit down with you and go through all of your options as well as how they fully explain how your insurance works and how to best use your benefits. I am deathly afraid of pain while in a dentists chair and I felt completely at ease and listened to. They are very attentive. Everything about the office is new and modern. I moved to Leesburg a while back and I was referred to Dr. Mikhail by a friend. I went there for a simple procedure, then i referred my mother and brother. Most of the crowns are done at his office, thus no need to get an imprint of the teeth and send it to a third-party lab, which takes weeks. The computerized 3-D devise takes the measurment and the crown will be carved on-site. I would recommend this establishment. Very pleased with everything. read more

This was a check up appointment and my first time at the office. The practice was highly recommended by a friend. The office is clean, comfortable, modern and high tech. The staff was very nice and treated me like a person and not just another patient. My exam was very thorough. Rediculous First off, I'd like to start off by saying that the dental assistants and the front receptionist are very polite and made me feel welcome. My sister and I's visit started off a little rushed, mostly because I thought I was going to be late. After I got there 5 minutes before scheduled at 3:30. I had signed in and filled out whatever information I needed to fill out, seeing as we were new patients. Then the next person, that signed in about 10 minutes after we had signed in, was called in for their appointment. Which obviously seemed off, seeing as we'd signed in before her. I thought "maybe she had an appointment scheduled earlier than us", so I brushed it off. My sister and I waited for about 45 minutes before SHE was seen. Already, I'm getting annoyed that it took that long to be seen period. While I'm waiting, another patient signs in about 15 minutes later. knowing that he most likely had an appointment scheduled for a later time than mine. I'd be seen next. I WAS WRONG. this gentleman was seen within about 20 minutes of waiting. at this point I'm about to explode because I've already waited almost an hour and a half to be seen. 2 hours after my scheduled appointment, I'm finally seen. This is about 10 minutes prior to the office closing. The dentist does the exam and takes my x-rays which took about five minutes. then tells me that after 2 hours of waiting, that he can't do my cleaning because he needs to let his assistants go home. I see all these great reviews, yet I'm astonished at the gall of this man to tell me that I need to reschedule a cleaning because, even though I've waited for 2 hours, 3 other patients have been seen before me, the same patients signing in after me, then even leaving before I was seen, he needs his assistants to go home. the only reason I gave even 1 star is simply because the assistant was really sweet I will never recommend this office to anyone. read more

Went back home for the Memorial day weekend and while there had some trouble with my temporary crowns. On My way back to Northern Virginia I called and explained my situation to Dr. Mikhail and he met me at his office (on the holiday) and fixed me right up. What a relief. read more
