I've been a patient at this office for several years, and while my dental health has always been…read morevery good, I've repeatedly felt pressured by the hygienists/doctors to purchase extra products or agree to additional procedures that didn't seem necessary. Last year I called to express my overall dissatisfaction as well as my desire to no longer move forward with the office as a patient, but the customer care agent convinced me to try a different hygienist (which I did, and that subsequent visit was fine). At my most recent routine cleaning visit, my cleaning was done by a visiting dentist who told me I had two cavities that would need to be drilled and filled. I then asked the regular dentist (Dr. Talwar) to confirm those findings, and while she did confirm the presence of the two alleged cavities, she also mentioned that they were "pretty small" and would be easy to repair. She even offered to do the procedure during that same visit since it wouldn't require anesthetic. The whole situation felt very misaligned from my actual oral health history, especially given that I have *never* had a cavity before, so I decided to get a second opinion before undergoing an irreversible treatment. A week later, I visited a different dental office with excellent referrals, and that dentist reviewed my X‑rays and examined my teeth. She quickly determined that there were zero cavities to be found in any of my teeth, and that I have a very healthy mouth overall. When I asked her to hone in on the two specific teeth that the Advanced Dental Care team had identified as having "cavities", the new doctor explained that those teeth have natural anatomical grooves which the other dentists may have interpreted as early-onset areas of decay...but she was very clear that there was no clinical basis for drilling into any of my teeth. I'm SO glad that I trusted my instincts in this situation, but it's unsettling to think I was advised to undergo unnecessary dental work (especially after their long pattern of upselling leading up to this point). I'm sharing this so that other patients know to advocate for themselves and seek second opinions if something doesn't feel right. I also hope that the Advanced Dental Care team reflects on this experience, because trust is a crucial foundation of any healthcare relationship. I do want to specifically thank the administrative team at this office for always being very courteous and customer-service focused...I've always greatly appreciated your helpful attention anytime I've needed help with scheduling or billing issues. Though I will no longer be a patient at this office, I wish this team all the best in the future.

I went for a consult with Dr. Patel about wisdom tooth extraction. After looking at my X-rays, he…read morerealized he had a simple case in his hands and said he could get it done right then. Dr. Patel and all the team were amazing throughout the entire process. The tooth was removed fast and efficiently and they made sure I was doing well all along. I cannot recommend Dr. Patel enough! I'm glad to not need him anymore, but would happily return to his office!

I almost never write reviews, no matter if it's exceptional or terrible. But I created an account…read moreon Yelp so that I can hopefully dissuade at least one person to NOT go to this place. DO NOT GET A PROCEDURE DONE BY DR. CHU (at the Falls Church location). I had my wisdom teeth taken out by him and I had to stay 2 nights in the ER because I got sepsis (along with a $4500+ medical debt). My mouth would not stop bleeding for 48hrs after surgery, I do not think they sewed up my wounds correctly. Both sides of my cheeks were bruised up for weeks and the IV that Dr.Chu/his assistant injected also left a nasty bruise for weeks (for comparison, the IV from the ER nurses left a barely noticeable dot on both my arms). The cherry on top is that Dr. Chu never bothered to followup with me after my hospital trip. I'm certain that Dr. Chu knew that I was in the hospital because the infectious disease specialist told me he would followup with Dr. Chu. The front desk ladies were more thorough with their follow up for my pending balance than Dr. Chu ever was for MY LIFE. On Google review, someone else shared a similar experience in that they also almost had to go to the ER and that Dr. Chu was dismissive. So my experience was not an outlier. I do not think I would be here today to write this review if my girlfriend didn't take me to the hospital after she found me trembling in my sleep as my body was fighting off the infection from sepsis at 2AM. If you value your life, I highly recommend you get your oral surgeries at another location.

They screwed up SO many things with my family! Including giving me THE WRONG MEDICATION!! STAY AWAY! Also, never trust the hours they have online. They randomly close whenever they want to. I went to him for a routine cleaning, and he insisted that I had a cavity. He proceeded to drill out my entire tooth (it was a small cavity, if it was even a cavity at all - in hindsight, I really wondered.) It caused me a lot of ongoing pain, and in the end I had to go to another dentist two times to get the cavity removed, soothing stuff put in temporarily, and then redone. Doctors don't usually say bad things about other doctors, no matter how bad, but the 2nd dentist couldn't hide it - he was shocked at the hatchet job on my tooth. Not too long after that, I had to get a complete root canal on that tooth - my first and only root canal ever. I had never had any problems before Dr. Buro. I have little doubt that there was serious malpractice. I chose not to get into any of that, but the least I can do is warn others. In fairness, this was many years ago, before Yelp, but I just checked my current dentist's ratings and wanted to make sure others had a heads up.
