Our family has been going to Callahan Dental for 9 years. They are the best Dentist(S) and staff in the entire D.C./Md/Va area. As a dental hygienist(actively practiced for 13 years) I have many concerns for the Dentist testing my family. Dr.'s Paul, Karen and staff are the most professional, kind, caring informative. Office around. The sterliziation procedures are spectacular and the expert cosmetic dentistry is impeccable! Our 8 year old chipped a front tooth this weekend. I called this morning and Dr. Paul saw her right away. He examined, x-rayed( with star of the art radiological equipment(lowest amount of radiation), gave us a diagnosis that was what this concerned Mom wanted to hear, and repaired the chip on the front tooth with a white filling material. First of all, he explained(and his assistant Penny was amazing explaining every step) every detail of the procedure. Which I might add he did without the need of local anesthesia!!! She said it felt like filing her finger nail! I can not recommend this dentist and staff enough! Dr. Paul Callahan and his excellent staff have been providing me with quality dental care for over twenty years. I can't say enough about the friendly, courteous and professional attitude that exists in his office. I always feel like they take a personal interest in my dental health. Dr. Callahan actually takes the time to listen to my concerns and provides thoughtful feedback to all my questions. I especially like his long term proactive approach to dental care. A few years ago, I was nearing retirement and Dr. Callahan made several suggestions regarding potential long term dental issues that I may want to address while I still had dental insurance with my employer. Dr. Callahan's office is exceptionally efficient; you are never kept waiting for any appointment. The ladies at the front desk are very understanding and patient in scheduling your appointments. His hygienist, Tresa, is very skilled and gentle. She puts you at ease and makes very pleasant conversation. This is the lowest stress, highest skill dentistry you will ever experience.. My father and I have been going to Callahan Dental for the last 20 years and have never had a bad experience with Dr. Callahan's work. His skill with cosmetic dentistry persuaded me to have orthodontia for the 3rd time in my life, for 5 additional years, so that he could replace some poorly done work on my front teeth. I have never found any procedure painful and have never needed any of his work redone in 20 years. The practice is very ethical and does not charge for any unnecessary procedures or x-rays. I couldn't wait to write a review after my excellent appointment with Dr. Bunin today. I was there for a crown replacement/prep (after seeing Dr. Bunin for several checkups that went great). The original crown was done by another dentist, and the process was so uncomfortable that I thought I'd need sedation dentistry in the future. But after thorough discussion with Dr. Bunin (and a lot of prayer!), I decided to trust him and proceed. He exceeded all expectations with his patience, kindness, and care in ensuring proper pain prevention throughout the procedure. I cannot recommend Dr. Bunin highly enough, including to patients who have had difficult experiences in the past (or who simply fear dental work). Let him know your concerns. I cannot say enough about how great this practice is. I have always had problems with my teeth (many years of braces, retainers, extractions, root canals, you name it) and decided that I needed to get serious about my dental health & treatment. The quality of service is absolutely outstanding from cleanings to root canals. They helped me work the procedures I needed done around my budget, insurance, and schedule. Now that I've stuck with it and used the techniques and tips I've learned from them, my mouth & teeth are in the best condition of my life and instead of a flaw I now consider my smile one of my best features. Visited Dr. Callahan's office on 7/10/14, and had an excellent experience with Dr. Callahan and his staff. Everyone I met was very courteous and very professional. They pride themselves on not keeping their patients waiting, and I must have waited all of 5 minutes to be seen by the doctor, which was really nice :) Dr. Callahan was so reassuring and easy to talk to, and patiently addressed all of my concerns. Sonia, his Dental Assistant was very welcoming, and Business Coordinators Diane and Teri were so helpful in accommodating my insurance and scheduling concerns. It brings to light how frustrated every dentist is with misunderstandings about dental insurance and the importance of reading and understanding your insurance manual. Dental insurance is not like medical insurance. Since the first of the year, we have had 2 office meetings where we practiced scripted responses to dental insurance questions to insure we don't mislead people. They are ALWAYS ready for me, greet me professionally but in a friendly manner, and remember details about me, my likes and dislikes.
