The first thing I would say is that you need to be extra careful with your bill and compare it to your insurance company's bill, as they may ask you to overpay. （Because my recalculation of their estimate prevented their miscalculation, it was nearly $400. few weeks later, after I got my insurance statement, it shows maximum contract allowance was $679 on my tooth no.14, but they charged me $805.） Over the past few decades, I have down many crowns, including those that needed replacement, and this dentist office is the only one that needs more than 2 visits. The first reason is due to inexperienced dental assistants. because they were scheduling several patients at the same time, some steps that should have been performed by the doctor ended up being completed by her assistant. After getting the temporary crowns installed, I got a call from them telling me they forgot to do one of the molds. I have to go back and have the temporary crowns removed and do it all over again. When the permanent crowns are done, the insides of the crowns look like funny spherical and feel uncomfortable, and one of the crowns has a gap where the top of the crowns connects to the gums, I know if it doesn't fix, the food will eventually get in, and after awhile there will be cavities in the teeth. Because the mistake was so obvious, the dentist had to recreate the mold and impression. It hurts without anesthesia. When I got a new crown again, one of the teeth seemed to be a little loose, and it got better after the second day. But my 11th tooth has a problem (leaking) after more than 1 week. Every time I floss after dinner, my tooth smells bad, and sometimes I can taste anesthesia in my mouth. I really don't like the hassle and the thought of going back again gives me a real headache. But I guess the tooth won't last for 5 years, which means if something goes wrong during that period, the insurance won't pay. So I called again and got a same day appointment. I sat at the front desk and waited. The doctor walked out with her patient and chatted for about 10 minutes a few steps away from me while I sat there waiting. Eventually she asked me to sit on the chair. I explained the tooth problem to her and she was so offensive she said there was no perfect result. What she wants is improvement not the perfection. but I paid the full price to buy perfection you gave me 80% improvement, should I get 20% refund of what I paid? She said the numbing smell in your mouth might be from other teeth, and I asked her why the flossing smells weird. She said I don't know, she said there was nothing wrong with the teeth. Hearing this, I smiled, I knew there was no reason to stay here any longer. I said all right, and stood up to leave, but she still defended herself by assaulting me and asked me do you floss every day or sometimes? She sounded like she was talking to someone who didn't matter. In fact, I didn't expect the dentist to make a new crown for me, but I didn't expect that the dentist didn't even have the least attitude. I spent almost 4k here and I think if the problem comes after they get the money, this is what I get. The photo below is after the crowns were done, the higher part of the teeth needs to be adjusted, Dr. Bal didn't want to remove too much of the new crown (upper mouth) , so she removed my lower teeth, but she did too much, inside the Metal parts are exposed. .,she even said you need to get a new crown. read more

I had my first visit with Dr Bal and was so IMPRESSED. She has state of the art equipment and a special camera that she use to show you on a monitor close up details about your teeth. If I could give Dr. Bal 10 stars I would! My husband and myself have been working with her on our dental treatment plans for a few years now. She not only provides education about the each individuals dental treatments plans, but she also understands how to help the patients build a treatment plan in order to achieve a collaborated goal. We use to live in Folsom, however now we live in Natomas. We still drive those extra miles to see her. My husband attempted a different facility due to it being closer to our home, but he quickly went back to Dr. Bal. She and her staff are consistent. She is the BEST! And her staff is amazing! They are great at keeping me calm during my appointments due to my general fear of any short of pain. read more

The best Dentist I have ever seen. I have a major fear of seeing the dentist. So much so that I hadn't seen one in 10 yrs. A close friend of mine suggested I see Dr Bal. I had not been to the dentist in several years, so I knew I'd need some work (routine wear and tear stuff). I was apprehensive at first, but Dr. Bal did a great job of not only explaining what work she recommended, but she also showed me on a computer screen what she was seeing and what it meant. Again, it's been several years since I went to the dentist so this may not be new technology, but it was new to me! I ended up needing a total of six old, cracked fillings replaced and both my top wisdom teeth removed. She split the work into two separate visits (one visit for the left side of my mouth and one visit for the right). After each visit - after the numbing wore off - I honestly could not even tell I had any work done. My bite was perfect after all the fillings. As for the wisdom teeth, they had already broken the gum (several years ago, actually), so Dr. Bal went in, tugged for a minute and they were out. Absolutely no pain, no stitches and very little bleeding (I used gauze for maybe 20 minutes after the extractions). Dr. Bal and her entire staff are friendly, competent and just complete pros. I went to Dr. Bal a couple years ago at a coworker's recommendation. In that time, she has done many fillings, crowns, cleanings and extractions. I agree with previous reviews that she is one of the best. She is meticulous and makes sure everything is perfect. If there is an issue, she will work on the tooth until it is perfect. Unlike some other dentists I've been to, I have had no ongoing problems with any of Dr. Bal's work. Her chairside manner is great and I always feel very comfortable when having work done.
