We recently had our second Dentist appointment at "The Folsom Dentist" which is Dr. Coon's Dentist office. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. However, during a check up for my three year son, Dr. Coon was a bit condescending with a question to myself regarding if my son eats carbohydrates, which he replied "we all do." Moreover, upon Dr. Coon checking my husband's teeth, he was extremely short with the visit was in and out in less than a minute. There was no personable interaction or friendliness with his interaction and simply just checking off another patient. As mentioned above, the staff were pleasant to speak to. With that said, I believe Dr. Coon needs to slow down and focus on putting forth positive quality individual patient attentiveness so patients are valued and likely to return. I believe quality over quantity with patients would be extremely beneficial to returning patients at The Folsom Dentist ". read more

I would say Dr coon is nice person , But the practicing history is not enough longer. I have experienced same teeth filling every year in last 5 years almost. Deceptive practices. I contacted to verify they took our insurance. They confirmed they did with the following voice mail: "Hi Scott this is Jasmine calling from the Folsom dentist reaching out to confirm your appointment on Tuesday July 29th for yourself And Ivy and that is at 300 Also just to let you know we have verified your insurance Everything is good to go And then I had also resent the link for your health history which I feel I believe are filled out already if you have any questions or if you could just give us a call back to confirm Our number here is 9xxxxxxxxx Thank you" Neglected to tell us that the bill for 2 cleanings and exams would exceed our insurance coverage by $600. read more

I switched to the Folsom Dentist after having lack of communication from Smile Time Dental. Would not recommend them to anyone. I had a serious issue with a tooth that got infected. The tooth required an Implant and they are a one stop shop. Explained everything that was required, along with cost and the office was super nice along with the staff. read more

Dr. Coons and his team are amazing! He has seen my husband, my toddler, and myself. All visits have been pleasant. With my 2 year old, he really focused on making sure she had a positive experience, and at the end of her visit, she got to pick a toy from the treasure chest, which she loved! My visits were great as well. I had a cleaning with Amanda, and she was awesome. She talked me through the cleaning and explained everything she was doing. This office is the best. The front desk lady and the rest of the staff are very polite, professional, and efficient. I had the best cleaning with my hygienist and she was very gentle with my sensitive mouth. Dr Koh himself is very thorough and even performed an oral cancer check up included in the exam. He also does not over diagnose like a lot of other dentists out there. I really appreciate that about him especially coming from another dentist that gave me an outrageous treatment plan even though I go to the dentist regularly. I've been seeing Dr. Koh and his staff for about 8 years. He is the gentlest dentist I have ever been to. He is very easy to communicate with about my dental needs. Also the Staff is amazing, the dental assistant is always super friendly and happy to see me, they really care about the patients. I work out of town and the office manager is always friendly and helpful when working around my schedule to get my appointment's in when needed. I recently came to this office merely because it's an "in-network" provider and it's relatively close to my home. In all my years of going to dentists, I've never encountered a more impersonal dental hygienist/assistant. When I was led back on my very first visit, she didn't say "hi", welcome me, or even introduce herself. During a follow-up appointment, she wasn't much better. I find this behavior extremely odd and essentially unacceptable. The receptionist is nice and Dr. Koh is pleasant enough, but if you're looking for that overall feeling of personalized service, I would go elsewhere. I had previously had seen horrible and dishonest dentists in Sac, (one said I had 10 cavities! that was not true) while I was searching for a dentist after a move from Nevada. Dr Koh is amazing! He has been my dentist for close to 10 years. He has excellent bedside manner and a good sense of humor. When I have dental work done, he is so gentle that I don't feel a thing. The dentist before that I had been going to, I felt everything from the cleaning to the injections. Another wonderful thing about Dr Koh is I never feel he is selling me on anything. Some offices that I had gone to always are always trying to sell me on something and at this office I don't feel like i'm at a car dealership. The staff is also wonderful here and is so nice and professional. They always greet with you with a smile and honestly want to get to know you. The office itself is so clean and state of the art.
