Then, another patient walked in and all of a sudden the hygienist appeared and took them first.. The dental room was slightly less smoky and actually very clean. Dr. Rybak was nice & worked quickly, but I've had more thorough cleanings at other dentists. Probably won't come back - between the cigarette smell and poor service, I wasn't very impressed.

At my first visit with him for tooth sensitivity this doctor poked my arm to demonstrate how a nerve reacts. Not once but several times even after I moved my arm away. Quite odd. The office cancelled my next appointment, my 6 month cleaning, with 2 weeks notice. When I asked why the staff told me the office would be closed. I asked why again & the staff told me "I don't have to tell you that". At my rescheduled appointment, they booked me with another hygienist who I didn't know. By the hygienist's questions in the exam room I could tell she didn't read my chart. Dr. R came in & spent about 3 minutes looking at my teeth. I told him my teeth were less sensitive and he poked my arm with his finger again. This time I told him to stop. I don't even think he looked all my teeth. If only he had been as thorough with my teeth as he was with the repeated poking..I asked a dental question about my checking my gums and he responded the hygienist does that, she went to school for that. My previous dentist answered all my questions and didn't rush me through my appointment. He checked my gums & even my tongue. He didn't poke me when I complained of tooth sensitivity. My experience was one of the worst at a dentist from the terrible customer service to the rope a dope appointment with an unknown hygienist. I was rushed through the appointment. Luckily I have great teeth so nothing needed to be done except the cleaning. My usual hygienist, which I will say, is excellent.

After an online search of local dentists, I conceded to take my wife's suggestion to use Sattler Family Dentistry. I took that leap of faith and my dental health and experience are the better for it. My first point of contact was with the courteous and welcoming office staff who pointed me to an online dental history questionnaire that helped to streamline my initial visit. I then met with Chris who took a comprehensive set of X-rays, probed my mouth extensively, and in conjunction with Dr. Bui, came up with a stepwise scheduled dental plan to correct all concerns found. Chris recommended that I undergo a scaling and root planing process which I was previously unfamiliar with. She took all the time necessary to explain her rationale, what the procedure entailed, and answered all of my questions with patience and implicit expertise. She even conceded that I could go anywhere else I felt comfortable going to but by this point I knew I was coming back to Sattler. I was then introduced to the very cordial Dr. Bui who discussed the plan with me and further allayed concerns. He put a face on the modern techniques that this office would be employing. Chris came across as an extraordinary hygienist and periodontal provider with a sincere concern for her patient's wellbeing. Next, the very professional office staff mapped out my plan, interfaced with my insurance company, and laid out my out of pocket and covered costs. Two appointments were made for the scaling and root planing process. Being somewhat dental phobic, I was concerned about any extended pain but I was pleasantly impressed that I felt no discomfort during the procedure, which involved significant digging, nor did I experience any pain once the anesthetic wore off. Likewise for the second visit to complete this phase of treatment.. I still have a few more appointments to address the dental plan originally prescribed, and actually look forward to them. To date, I can say that this is an excellent dental and periodontal practice that I am glad to have discovered. From the office staff to the dental providers, this is a well-run practice that instills confidence and assurance in what they do.
