At the time, I was given a treatment plan that was reasonably affordable for me, but unfortunately I ended up putting off that treatment longer than I should have, and since then my dental needs grew much worse. Since I had moved I ended up seeing a different dentist and was given a new treatment plan that included a possible root canal, but because of my original experience I had with the dentist I saw here, I decided to call and see if I could return for a second opinion before moving forward with the new treatment plan. Unfortunately, the woman I spoke with on the phone today (8/28/26 @1:35pm) was extremely dismissive and unfriendly. When I explained that I was a returning patient wanting a second opinion on my newest treatment plan. She told me she could get me scheduled for xrays and a cleaning. I was confused because I wasn't looking for a cleaning at this time and also just literally had X-rays taken not even two months ago from the newest dentist. So I let her know and asked her that even though I just had new ones taken that they would still need to take there own? She responded saying that they "don't care about other X-rays" and that they would need to take their own anyway. Now I completely understand that the office may have a policy requiring its own X-rays, and I would have been perfectly fine with that if it had simply been explained professionally, but it hadn't instead it was said with much rudeness. When all she said to say was that their dentists needs to use their own imaging to properly evaluate my current condition. I also asked whether there would be a cost associated with the new X-rays because during my previous visit, I was not informed that I would have a deductible or patient responsibility. I later received a $40 bill. When I explained this instead of her having compassion and being understanding, I felt like my concern was dismissed and she responded that it was my deductible and that I would have to pay it anyway. I understand that deductibles are part of dental insurance and that at the end of the day there's not much a receptionist can do on handling that part but my issue is the lack of communication and the way my concerns were handled. I am a college student, and unexpected expenses are not something I can simply assume will be covered. A little transparency and compassion would have made a huge difference. I called because I genuinely wanted to return to this office and get a second opinion from a dentist I previously liked. Unfortunately, the way this conversation was handled made me no longer feel comfortable scheduling an appointment. A front desk employee is often the first impression of a business, and I hope management understands how much that interaction can influence whether a patient chooses to return.

When I recently returned for a routine cleaning they wanted to charge me $437 for a ROUTINE FOLLOW UP CLEANING. This is not only excessive but ABUSIVE, borderline insanity IMHO. So after years of happy interactions I was forced to find a different dentist who charges $99 for initial cleaning with Xrays and $99 follow up cleanings. I have no idea how they think $437 is remotely acceptable. I can only imagine if they feel it's okay to abuse existing patients in this way what kind of bogus inflated charges they are hitting the insurance company with. I'm sure practices like this are why we have a health care cost crisis in this country right now. Under NO circumstances would I ever recommend Montecito Dental to anyone ever again. Stay away from this place! They are deceptive and bill and will bill you fraudulently. I hope they are investigated and fined for whatever it is they are doing. HUGELY DISAPPOINTED.

They referred him to what they called their "sister" office, but it turned out to be a completely separate practice with no affiliation to Providence. To our surprise, the cost for the exact same treatment was dramatically lower--about $150 instead of $1,500. Unfortunately, my own experience has not been any better. Before my husband's situation, I had a couple of silver fillings replaced with tooth-colored composite fillings at this office. Since then, I've had nothing but problems. I've returned multiple times because I can't get floss between two of the teeth where the fillings were placed, and another filling causes pain whenever I eat certain foods. Looking back, I wish I had never replaced my silver fillings. The composite fillings may look nicer, but my experience has been disappointing. Another concern is the constant staff turnover. Aside from a few long-term employees and one of the dentists in the back, it seems like there's always a new team. Because of these experiences, we are in the process of finding a new dentist.

Showed up for that scheduled cleaning today after leaving work only to be told they could only do a deep clean if I wanted anything. I left. Been going to the dentist at minimum 2 times a year for cleanings. Never been told I have gum disease in the least. But at Hudson it is, after a bad experience this past year at another dental office I decided to read up on the reviews and do some research for this location. I was impressed and after today I can see why. I called last month and made an appointment they were able to schedule me for the following week Thursday but I ended up getting strep throat and had to cancel I was then rescheduled for April 29th, someone from their office was nice enough to send texts for spots that opened sooner but it didn't align with my schedule. But I got another text that did and we re scheduled for Monday April 20th,2026 at 11am, I filled out all my paperwork online and arrived 15 minutes early. I was greeted by a kind older woman at the front desk who checked me in and advised that I would be paying $20 for pictures of my teeth, I was grateful for how forward she was, I was called back at exactly 11, Michael did my X-rays and Jen was my dental hygienist and she was amazing!! I explained my concerns and she walked me through all that she was going to be doing, I felt very comfortable. She did an amazing job cleaning my teeth, let's just say it was badly needed. So Jen thank you for your patience. After the cleaning Dr.Hudson came in and took a look after hearing his recommendations I'm glad they aligned with what I was looking to do, which was first a deep clean then a referral for the oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth extracted and the orthodontist later for Invisalign. I did a fluoride treatment on my teeth and Jen walked me to schedualing . There they had my price sheet already filled out after what the insurance covers, I was able to schedule my deep cleaning appointments, I'm grateful for their organization as well as not expecting all the money upfront, they break it up into payments and with the economy now that's amazing, paying for dental work shouldn't be a burden. I'm excited to get my teeth beautiful and can't wait to continue to visit here. Thank you Hudson dental for a wonderful first time experience.

I've had the same tests conducted dozens of times over the years since I'm 57 so I'm familiar with how it worked. It was never supposed to be so painful. When I asked for my records to be forwarded to a new dental office, they first told me the new office was in their corporate group so the new dental office can access it on their shared cloud (which wasn't true when I checked with the new office), then that told me that they sent it (which also wasn't true when I checked my email and received only a few xrays when I've been their patient for the past several years. They were problematic even before this last incident. When I had oral surgery, the surgeon told me they could put me under and it'd be covered by insurance. I trusted him and went ahead. Turned out it wasn't covered and it took me months if not almost a year to pay it off. Be careful of this office.
