I was so happy that Providence Dental took emergency appointments. I was able to get in, get my tooth fixed, and go to breakfast all before 12pm. I'm also thankful for the urgent care I received from the nice, professional staff, and the courtesy I was given to be able to be seen on such short notice. My husband received a very expensive treatment plan from this dental office. When he finally decided to move forward with the treatment, we were told they no longer had a provider who could perform the procedure. They referred him to what they called their "sister" office, but it turned out to be a completely separate practice with no affiliation to Providence. To our surprise, the cost for the exact same treatment was dramatically lower--about $150 instead of $1,500. Unfortunately, my own experience has not been any better. Before my husband's situation, I had a couple of silver fillings replaced with tooth-colored composite fillings at this office. Since then, I've had nothing but problems. I've returned multiple times because I can't get floss between two of the teeth where the fillings were placed, and another filling causes pain whenever I eat certain foods. Looking back, I wish I had never replaced my silver fillings. The composite fillings may look nicer, but my experience has been disappointing. Another concern is the constant staff turnover. Aside from a few long-term employees and one of the dentists in the back, it seems like there's always a new team. Providence Dental, June 30, 2026 Providence Dental says they have emergency services, but don't believe it. A couple weeks ago, I had x-rays there, along with a hygiene appointment. I complained of pain on a certain tooth but the dentist, Dr.Nimsuwan, didn't see anything on the x-rays. The painful tooth had an old filling, which may have become compromised during the hygiene portion of that appointment. One week later, my dentist Dr. Nimsuwan would not even do a quick visual on the painful tooth, without another authorization from the VA. Because I had an appointment at Providence Dental already scheduled, (to get a mouthguard), I was already in their office, and after a lot of effort, I WAS able to push through the needed VA emergency authorization ... And then Dr. Nimsuwan was too busy to see me!! I was still in their office when I was told that she went home, well before 5 PM. And the other dentist working there was also 'too busy'. In other words, they didn't care. I had let the office staff know that I had a flight early The next morning, that I would be gone for at least one month, and I didn't want to go with my tooth hurting.... Oh, so sad too bad. I had pushed through the emergency authorization that they required, and even though I got that authorization, neither Dr. Nimsuwan, nor her cohort, would see me because they were 'too busy', or because they just went home. I will no longer be a patient there, because I feel that this incident was both negligent and uncaring, and shows false advertising. I too have dreaded going to the dentist since I was a kid, I just never had a good experience. And after 30 years in the military, I was tired of bouncing around from doctor to doctor and getting so many different opinions for treatment and varying levels of quality of care. Finally, after I retired the VA referred me to Providence Dental on Hualapai and Elkhorn. It is nice and clean office and although it looks small from the outside, it's actually got a lot of patient rooms once you go in the back. I have been going to Providence Dental for quite some time now, and am very confident and comfortable in giving them the highest review possible. At my consultation they assessed my teeth and gums and recommended a treatment program instead of surgery that previous doctors had been trying to get me to do. Once my treatment was complete, I had a follow-up evaluation and was told for the first time in years that everything looked great! They put me on a recommended interval of cleanings and maintenance program and I could not be happier! My doctor (Dr. Nimsuwan) and Dental Hygenist (Michelle) are just fantastic as well as everyone else on the Providence Dental team! The front office is full of rockstars as well...they are always super friendly and more than helpful. They are experts at scheduling and treatment management and work with the VA to streamline any referrals or treatment approvals so the patient does not have to worry about anything at all. I came in today because a crown came off and I simply needed it re-cemented. Instead of examining options or explaining findings, the dentist immediately jumped to telling me the tooth "couldn't be saved" and that I needed an extraction and either an implant or a bridge. No conservative options were discussed and no explanation was provided beyond that statement. When I asked clarifying questions, the dentist became dismissive and rude. As a patient without insurance, the pressure to move straight to a costly, irreversible procedure felt extremely inappropriate. I left and will be seeking a second opinion through a restorative-focused provider. There is a huge difference between evaluating a tooth and pressuring someone into extraction and a $3,000-$6,000 treatment plan. It's like pulling teeth (no pun intended) getting their admin to do anything. On several occasions they were supposed to submit for approval to my insurance and never did. I had to keep calling back weeks later to see what was going on. One time they called me on the day of my appointment telling me they forgot to submit it and need to reschedule me. This last time I called, I talked to Tiffany who pretty much told me I am welcome to find a new dentist. So that's what I did. Sad when the employees who don't care about their job or the company ruin it for the dentists who put years into establishing that livelihood for themselves. But the hygienist saved me from dropping $1,500 on a deep cleaning that another office had told me I needed to get. We've gone twice... and that's twice too many. It was in 2023 but forgot to leave a review back then. We really wanted it to work out because they're close to our house but that's a hard no. We both got our teeth cleaned twice and she's really rough. I've never experienced so much pain in just getting teeth cleaned in my life. I think she needs to take some CE classes or something geez! There's also one lady that works in the front who probably shouldn't work with people because she has a very odd and uncomfortable way of communicating back-and-forth to people if that makes sense. My experience with them was terrible and frightening. I'm a 71 year-old woman. I have had many deep cleaning experience, but dentist. The reason I went to them was because of the weekend appointments on my appointment date I was x-ray I told I needed a deep cleaning over the years. I have always had a deeper cleaning. I came back from my appointment the following week for the deep cleaning and I was in the chair for five minutes.. which was very strange to me. I did not feel him in my mouth at all doing anything no instruments no brushing no flossing nothing they told me I was done. I repeated done. I asked him can I eat if you say yes why not and that should not have been true. I should've been told I should wait a couple hours if you did it correctly I paid $160 co-pay. I have Delta Dental which paid for a deep root cleaning and last year they paid a partial so they double dip..I was not satisfied with the service at all. I want my money back. I would never refer anyone to them. And that was just for the right side of my mouth. They charge 160 for each side. I went back to the previous, dentist had and was told nothing was done, which I already knew. People do you research on New companies you're doing business with that's all I have to say about them. Unfortunately this office is very unprofessional and provided kindergarten services for wisdom teeth removal. My 4 yr old grandson could have done a better job.My son had wisdom teeth removal completed by their surgeon James Schlesinger and sadly due to the poor care that he received during surgery caused an anterior dislocation in his jaw which now requires surgery. I tried speaking with a regional manager Nicole Zaino and she refuses to except responsibility. This surgeon also caused my son to choke on a gauze and he actually threw it up in this surgeon also refused to take responsibility for this as well. Please ask a lot of questions and look at the reviews before scheduling an appointment at this office as I wish I would have had someone let me know what type of care they provide. I have lost trust in this dental service. Been going to it for a few years now and today is the final straw. This place was connected to VA community care. Today I came in for an appointment and was told that I wouldn't be seen today. After a couple of months being scheduled and multiple days of text confirmation that I was coming in. The guy that audits authorizations did so the day before (Sunday). He claimed that I did not have authorization. Even says he left me a message yesterday (which was not logged in my voicemail or calls at all so that's concerning. They texted Thursday to confirm I was coming in and I replied yes, they replied thanks, you're scheduled. When I initially scheduled this appointment I confirmed through the rep that an authorization is already on file. She said yes and there was nothing else I needed to do. I asked because this has happened before, where I schedule and ask to ensure there's an authorization and turns out there is none and that they'll resubmit the request. Meaning I'd have to reschedule which is a waste of time. I asked Community Care to change dental service and I was easily approved. They said Providence Dental may have been removed from VA community Care network. Moving on. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND I had a terrible experience at Providence Dental back in Dec of 2020, I asked for someone in management to call me, regarding my experience, and I was assured the office manager would reach out to me, but she never did. When I contacted the office the following week, and was transferred to the office manager Jennifer, she told me when she came into the office, the week of my request, saw my complaint but didn't have any notes to follow up, so she chose not to call me. The lack of professionalism I experienced was unbelievable. The office manager didn't even try to call me to see what the issue was, or how she could resolve it. As a result I called In January to cancel all appointments for myself and my entire family. It didn't seem that my issue was worth addressing, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. Since cancelling all appointments, I have been getting mail, texts, and emails reminding me of upcoming appointments that have been cancelled. I have replied stop to texts, return to sender on mail and have unsubscribed from email notifications. It's June of 2021 and I am still being contact for appointments that shouldn't exist. I felt very ignored at the time of my initial complaint and now disrespected that I have to keep asking to not be contacted, especially when no one reached out when I asked to be contacted!!!!! Had an appointment to get my teeth cleaned at 1pm. They called and said the hygenist had an opening at 12N so I went in earlier. Not sure if it was her lunch break, but she cleaned my teeth in less then 10 minutes! I waited longer in the lobby then it took her to clean my teeth! Then she passed me off to somebody else who was supposed to polish my teeth. In between that, they didn't know if I had insurance, which I did and filled out the paperwork on line before I even went in for my appointment. So after they confirmed I had insurance, they took my yearly xrays. Afterwards she said we were done and to follow her up front. I reminded her that she hadn't polished my teeth yet! So she polished my teeth, which the polish was flying everywhere; my face and in my hair! Then she asked if the hygenist flossed my teeth, which she didn't so she did quickly. Then I was done. No bag with toothbrush, toothpaste and floss which they usually give out afterwards. Just felt rushed through the whole thing! I think I was there for about a half hour, which normally takes about an hour to get your teeth xrayed and cleaned and checked by a doctor. They also try to set you up to come in every 3 months, which your insurance doesn't cover! After thinking about my last experience, I'm going to cancel my next appointment. They should change their name to GRIFTER'S DENTISTRY. LOL. I haven't used these guys in years, but looking for a new dentist reminded me that I forgot to review this place years ago. And people need to be WARNED. Every review about this place overcharging for unneeded procedures is TRUE! Every time I went in for any procedure, even a simple cleaning, I had to scrutinize the bill. "What's this? No. I don't need that. And what's this? No. I'm not paying for that either." The final straw was when I had a deep scaling. Because I have bad gums & horrible tartar issues, I've had a million of them. It is a lengthy & time consuming process. Sometimes it takes multiple visits. They completed mine in 45 minutes. I was shocked. "What do you mean you're finished? That's it?" A simple cleaning can take 45 minutes to an hour. After a deep cleaning, you should get some gum reattachment & your pockets should be reduced. On my follow-up visit, all my pocket measurements were exactly the same. I might as well have stayed home & used my Waterpik. Then they wanted to charge me for some kind of "special deep cleaning follow-up care." I DON"T THINK SO! My insurance only pays for a deep scaling once every 3 years. So, I had to wait another 3 years to have it done right. (I'm doing that now.) Thanks, Providence Dental! (That's sarcasm.) This place is assembly-line dentistry! It makes me wonder if the 3 fillings they did for me were even needed. STAY AWAY from these GRIFTERS! I absolutely love this dental office. Not only are all of the staff members helpful and attentive but they are also friendly and keep patients very informed of what is going on and when. I also am a huge fan of their variation of hours which accommodate people with jobs of all varieties. This office even goes over the options and when as well as pricing which is always a huge concern with health care. Whenever I've had a concern, I call and everything is handled immediately. CHOP SHOP - they're open 8-8 everyday. You never see the same people working. It's like a training depot. They have a very young inexperienced staff. My simple cavity turned into a crown and after a second opinion it's become a root canal. I'm a veteran using community care in the civilian world. The crown the kid installed had to be adjusted 4 times because it may of been too high. During the crown process I felt he got too close to the nerve while grinding down my tooth. They've been charging the VA for each time they saw me after. So I went back to the VA and now I need a root canal. PROVIDENCE DENTAL SHOULD PAY FOR IT. Very unhappy about Providence Dental. Providence administrative support is very incompetent. 30 days ago I re-scheduled my cleaning because I wanted to use up all of my dental insurance for the year. I specifically asked over the phone if they are able to bill my insurance and was told yes and rescheduled for November instead of December. I arrived today and I'm told I was not scheduled and that I would have to come out of pocket and she could get me in later on in the day. I don't know what the mix up was but my valuable time was wasted and they are going to lose my business due to their incompetence. Previously they had a extern/ intern some high school student doing my flossing and couldn't do that right and I had complain to their staff about that. I've had dental care for decades and have never ran into these kinds of problems. Shame on them. Update: Come to find out I was able to get a second cleaning at anytime. I did not have wait an entire 6 months. The lack of quality customer from their front desk could have resolved this coming out of pocket but reconfirming my benefits by getting on the phone with my dental insurance company. I don't know what made them thing that I had to wait 6 months on the dot but that's an that I rather not have to deal with next year. I called and spoke to their office manager about all this and I really didn't get an apology but in this day and age they just work there and don't care about the patient because apparently everything was my fault. I got in at 6pm and they did my cleaning. All that was of good service and the doc that checked me out was really good. I saw the front desk person again and she pretty much ignored me. No idea why? This place is ridiculous. They give you a treatment plan and pricing, but somehow when the treatment is done the price changes. Always more than what they stated. Always blame the insurance. I've had the same insurance for years and never had a problem. They are not very helpful when you ask for an explanation. I called to get info on how to get a replacement for my night guard, the receptionist said "let me find out and I'll give you a call back". Still waiting for that call. The hygienist is a whole other issue. Yes, it's 5 minutes away from my house, but I rather drive 30 or 40 minutes and get quality service. Will definitely be switching provider. This place is very bad when it comes to appointments, they constantly have to reschedule, whether it's for dental or ortho. Also, they recently called me saying my insurance didn't cover my kids braces that she had put on over two years ago. TWO YEARS AGO, are you se!. Now they want me to hand over $1,500; they're crazy. The staff seems very friendly but the way that this place is run is a joke. I don't personally use this place; I bring my kids here, or I used to. As soon as I finish up my kid's braces it's good riddance Providence Dental. I have been recommended Aloha Orthodontics and will use them for my two younger kids ortho services. *Update* My child is due to have her braces removed but they are refusing to remove them until we pay the balance in full. After having to wait 3-4 months for a cleaning appointment at Courtesy Dental, several times (not kidding), it was time for a change. I looked up Cigna covered dentists in the area and found Providence. It is literally .2 miles away. I called and got a checkup and cleaning scheduled the next week! I arrived 10 mins before my appointment this morning and was seen right away. Everyone was very nice and the cleaning and exam were very thorough. Now I get to back for a crown next week, we'll see how that goes. Right now Providence Dental is much more efficient than Courtesy. read more
