Called back today and was told right off they don't take market place insurance (Obamacare.) I don't have that kind of insurance. Even after telling the girl that answered the phone what kind of insurance I had she had to place me on hold several times to talk with the office manager. She came back on the line and told me they don't accept my insurance. So I called my provider. Sure enough this office is in my network. So my provider called them and conferenced me in after explaining to the new person that answered the phone that they did accept my insurance. Then they tried to say that the Dr. Goodman wasn't accepting new patients. That was a lie because a) He was the doctor at the event trying to get new business and b) the first girl I spoke to said he was booked until the middle of October but he was available after that.

I trust him with the serious stuff (including multiple biopsies) and equally with the decidedly less serious stuff. Despite my best efforts to convince him otherwise, he takes a conservative, natural approach to cosmetic treatments, which is exactly why I trust him completely with Botox, filler, and peels. He knows when to say yes, when to say no, and when to remind me that I do not, in fact, need more. Most recently, I brought my young daughter in for a minor skin issue. Shockingly Unprofessional, Unethical, and a Total Waste of Time…read more I wish I could give zero stars. My appointment here was an absolute joke from start to finish. Most of my visit was spent filling out information on a tablet and waiting. When I finally got into a room, nearly the entire interaction was with an assistant who didn't address the issue I came in for. Dr. Chismar eventually came in, glanced at my skin from about six feet away for maybe a minute, said there was "no way to know" what my condition was or what caused it, and then abruptly left for a supposed phone call. She never returned. Instead, the assistant came back with several prescriptions -- none of which were explained to me. Trying to get any clarification was pointless. I was shuffled to the front desk and told to pay $349 with insurance, even though I had been quoted $130-$215 for self‑pay. When I said I preferred to self‑pay, I was told it was "illegal" not to use my insurance -- which is absolutely false. After I called them out, they backtracked on the "illegal" claim but still refused to let me self‑pay, saying it was "policy." Their policy is deceptive, unethical, and predatory. I left with no diagnosis, no answers, no plan, and a much lighter wallet. My entire day off was wasted. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

The PA did an all over skin check and found a couple areas of concern. He saw Cindy Nguyen Hoang and I really liked her so I will be scheduling my next appointment with her. Her assistant was great too and I wish I knew her name, although she did tell it to us. I did like the sign in the lobby that states, "If you've been waiting 20 minutes to let us know". There was one lady in front of me the receptionist was assisting. I politely asked for the sign-in sheet (was not asked to sign in. So I asked for myself). Afterwards, I was to "sit down and I'll call you up". The IPad I was given to complete registration on was filthy (not cleaned between patients). Once called in, my medical care provider rushed in for just a few minutes... and that was it. The nurse was the best part of my visit. She was kind, patient, helpful and friendly. There are several medical providers in the office building. I can only speak for the one I had and the service I received and saw for myself.

We drove out of our way to bring her to her appointment, only to be told they wouldn't see her because my mom (her guardian) wasn't physically present -- We left, wasted more time driving to get the form signed in person, only to return and be told they still wouldn't accept it because they "couldn't confirm she actually signed it." Seriously? She signed the physical form -- what more proof do they need? No flexibility, no empathy, and absolutely no respect for their patients' time. For a practice we've trusted for years, this was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. It felt like they were looking for reasons not to help us. No compassion, no common sense, and clearly no care for their patients. If this is how they treat long-time families, I can't imagine how they treat new ones. Save yourself the headache and find a place that actually knows how to treat people like humans.
