So this is the second advanced dermatology location I've been to and I won't use my experience in the first place to make judgement but this place has it pros and cons. I came here with my father who was seen by Dr. Wong who seems pretty knowledgeable and sweet, but we surely had concerns. Pros: *easy getting an appointment, sometimes even same day *office is clean and welcoming *they accept most insurances Cons: * you will be with the doctor for approximately 2-4 mins. You are totally rushed because they definitely overbook and it appears there is normally just one doctor on site. The Dr. came in, took a quick look and made a diagnosis and was done. It took about 3-4 mins, I'm have issues with being rushed when it come to health concerns. Now to be clear this review is NOT about Dr. Wong herself, she was great for the few minuets she was there but she was absolutely overwhelmed and we could tell. The waiting room had at least 4 people waiting and another person in another room. This place needs more than one doctor and needs to give the doctors time to treat each patient without feeling rushed. read more

If I can give zero star. I visited due to rashes on my skin. I called before I scheduled an appointment to see if they accept my health insurance. First time I visited, the dermatologist took a skin sample and blood test to see if I have bacteria. Visited back to see the result and found nothing. The dermatologist suggested I do a patch test to see what I'm allergic. Schedule a patch test a few days after and a few days later went back for a visit. They took out the patch and advised me to go back in 2 days. Went in again, and said I'm allergic to metal. I still have rashes on my skin but the thing I'm pissed about is they billed me a total of $1000.00. Seriously? This office doesn't tell you the price of each exam they take. Please ask if your insurance will covered or the cost of each test. Never going back.. read more

At best a complete waste of your money and time, but probably more akin to a scam. The appointment after me got cancelled, yet the doctor (I say doctor, but in fact they had a PA look at me) would not spend more than 3 minutes on me. She took one look at my face, typed away to fill out obligatory forms to record that she had seen me, and prescribed me the most expensive creams possible which I had told her previously did not work for me. She rushed out afterward, not leaving time for questions or concerns. The worst part is that this place told me my health insurance would cover the cost, and yet billed me for 80 bucks afterwards. 80 bucks for you to waste my time and check off your dermatological scam forms? Jfc, do not go here. Look at the lower ratings and trust that they are real. I ignored them, believing it must be a few sour apples, but now I suspect the 5-star ones are all fake. read more

Awesome experience and Amazing Dr. David Zheng! I had cool sculpturing one month ago. I was nervous at first, but he put my mind at ease. After initial consultation, I had so many questions. Dr. Zheng explained to me the whole process, including risks and benefits. He spent his time and made me very comfortable. The procedure was painless, but afterward I did feel little sore. He had advised me to take Tylenol which helped a lot. My belly is flatter every day and can't wait to see what my abdomen would look like in 2 more months. I highly recommend Dr. David Zheng. Oh, he also treated my Keloid while I was getting cool sculptured. The best doctor I have visited so far, he really care about his patients. read more

I fell off a bike and badly scraped my knee early in the week. By the weeks end I developed a fever and was nervous I'd developed an infection. Advance dermatology took my last minute appointment. Ms. Wong at the office treated me. She was very attentive and thoroughly cleaned my wound. She was very informative about how I should care for my wound to prevent further infection and scarring. She did not try to sell skin products to me like other dermatology offices I've been to. Overall, I had an amazing experience here. She even gave me free samples on a presciption scar gel which I really appreciated! read more

I was pleasantly surprised that there is a specialist of such a high level like Dr. Paul E. Brody in this center - such an intelligent and kind doctor. I especially want to mention the doctor's wonderful and subtle sense of humor. I realized that everything was not so bad when he started joking: they would help me, I am in the hands of a real professional who knows what to do. I went on May 15th to treat acute eczema on my feet, was assisted by Dr Jennifer Wong, she gave me samples of my prescribed cream and they called my pharmacy that same day with prescription, all fine for now. About 3-4 days go by and my pharmacy tells me my insurance needs more explanation from the doctor as of why I need this medication, since it cost around $500!!, pharmacy sent messages to doctors office to take care of this so they can give me my prescription, nothing happened with the doctor. June 6!! I called doctors office to find out update in this regard, cause my pharmacy has not heard a word from them, was told by a guy in that office that they will take care of it and should have it in no more than 2 days. Is now June 11th, still nothing!!!!! Now my acute eczema has extended to my hands!!!! And no word from my doctor or pharmacy, I called again, this office is supposed to be open Monday from 1-7pm, according to their site, but my call got transferred to another office in Long Island cause bayside office is closed!!!! Seriously !!??? Can somebody get it together!!!!??? I would never recommend this place to anyone, service is horrible and very irresponsible, patients are waiting on medication to take care of their problem before it gets worse and they are oblivious!!!! read more

Starting out with 5 stars I am removing 1 star because Jennifer Wong has the knowledge but she has to work at high speed to get to all of the patients. Patients lose confidence when the attending medical practitioner is in a rush. Second star is removed due to a SERIOUS need to have Jennifer Wong wear the proper masking that close contact medical practitioners wear. Jennifer Wong wears a mask that appears to be the multi layered disposable type which is satisfactory for most indoor environments but this is a medical office where extra precautions are needed. Vaccinated or not Jennifer Wong can easily spread the Covid delta variant because her mask is not tight fitting, it is open along the sides. Double masking can possibly close off some of the open sides but upgrading to a tighter fitting KN95 or to a sealed N95 mask along with a face shield would be a large improvement and would match what other close contact health care professionals are using. I also recommend that the Advanced Dermatology office in Bayside open windows when possible in all areas where windows are located to improve air circulation. read more

After picking up my prescription it wasn't what the doctor said he was prescribing. So for the past 2 weeks I've been trying to contact the doctor (Dr. Fan) to straighten out. When I call the office I get transferred to the "proper" department, but either get disconnected or sent to voicemail. I left several voice messages but no one ever called me back. I even tried the website and did a chat, and their response was they would leave a message with the office to contact me. No one has contacted me, meanwhile my condition has worsened. I tried to book an appointment, but it was the worst website I've seen in my life to book an appointment. I called again and was on hold for a long time. Didn't have a long wait. The office was overall nice and clean. The doctor seemed busy but spent some time with me. In essence I went in knowing what I needed so getting the prescription was easy enough. Copay was $125 (didn't take my insurance) which was pricey but it's average copay from my past visits at others offices. read more

I have been to this location twice now. I was treated by Dr. Wong both times. Once was to treat the redness on my cheeks and the second time was for a peel. She was always very patient and professional, taking the time to answer my million and one questions, addressing my concerns, explaining the prescriptions, and noting the alternatives since I have such a sucky insurance plan. Recently I was in an emergency situation where I had to have a cyst removed from the back of my neck the very morning after I first discovered it. There was pain and irritation, but also the funny feeling that comes along with this type of condition. My mother recommended I contact Advanced Dermatology after I was told our family's regular dermatologist was unavailable. They told me I could be seen right away. Ms. Jennifer Wong, the physician's assistant on call that day, explained the situation, talked about options for treatment and then took quick action to resolve my issue. This is definitely not the type of place you have to worry about coming to if you haven't been there before. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgable. I definitely got the sense that everyone there was listening. Ms. Wong did an excellent job and the procedure went better than expected. I was very disappointed in my visit to Advanced Dermatology. It was my first time seeing them and it will definitely be my last. I was there about a mole I have that I felt had changed on me, size wise. The doctor, Dr. Wong, gave me all of 27 seconds of her time. She came in the room glanced at it, said everything is fine and started to dismiss me. I asked her to please check it again since she didn't even come near me to see it. She assured me it was fine as she typed in her computer, without looking at me. Told me to come back in the fall for a body scan and then said "nice meeting you" and left the room. I was very annoyed and couldn't believe that's how they treat any patients, let along first time patients. I can overlook the rude staff but not the way the doctor treats you. read more
