I was recommended to the clinic by a few people and reached out to them instead of the U for a skin/spot check after my doctor missed my cancer diagnosis (I'm so glad I kept pestering them and asked for another opinion...thanks Fairview...) Anyway, they already knew my diagnosis at Tareen and they proceeded to do a full body check on all my other spots then they scheduled me for a small surgery to remove the known bad spot. They scheduled me out after the summer to let me enjoy myself before I had sutures and followed up with me about another little troublesome spot that turned out to be nothing but some irritated skin treated with some ointment. When it was time for my surgery Dr Tareen herself asked how my other spot was (I know they have a file they review beforehand but this was so nice and unexpected, her bedside matter is nothing I've ever experienced before - she sees hundreds of people and can still treat each of us like humans). The doctor and the team who cut me and sewed me back up were very nice. I'm glad I brought my book though while waiting in-between checks since the giant TV on the wall with gross pictures made me a little nauseous after a while (and I'm a freakin' vet tech! Maybe I shouldn't have turned down their snacks). Highly, highly recommend Tareen and her team to anyone who needs expert skin care. My husband had a similarly sized spot removed this year as well and he went to the U - his scar is super blotchy and mine you'll barely be able to see in a while. I was thinking I'd get a tattoo to cover it up but I won't have to!

Healing seemed different than what she'd experienced before, and the scarring was much more noticeable than expected. I'm not sure if something changed with the process or materials used, but unfortunately the results have made me hesitant to bring her here in the future if this continues. I'll still give two stars because the doctors and staff have always been very kind and professional, and the procedures she had done last year healed extremely well with almost unnoticeable scarring. I had an April 2025 dated appointment confirmed three times. I check in and tell them I'll do the membership pricing for this service. They give me an amount to pay which is $350 over the quote. When asked why, they said It's because my quote was based on "being a patient" and it's been over a year since I've been seen so I'm "not a patient" & the pricing is higher for non patients. They said that even though they hadn't originally told me, the quote expired in February. I remind them I was in there in November & that I received a RX at that time. They would not agree to the original quoted price & I told them what a poor business decision that was & I walked out. So now I'm ACTUALLY not their patient, at my own choice this time. So they'll keep that $50, they need it since they lost my business.

Update 12/01/25: 1 had an appointment with a medical tattooist, and she didn't want to touch it…read more She said, it's possible she could make it worse and it wouldn't be permanent. My dermatologist said, lasers, such as excimer, are not guaranteed, not permanent and require ongoing treatments indefinitely. Basically, it would be a life long commitment for a treatment that is not guaranteed. It would be very time consuming going three days a week for an unknown amount of time. Therefore, this is not a viable option. Third, I had a consultation with two plastic surgeons in Plymouth. Initially, they didn't want to touch it because the incisions would cause another problem. I would be swapping one cosmetic problem for another one. Since this was my last resort, the head surgeon agreed to do a little research and reach out to other plastic surgeons for their opinion. He said, the problem is pigment can't be restored, therefore, hypopigmentation can't be treated. I should have gone to him first. At this point, I'm waiting for the plastic surgeon to contact me with a possible solution, if any. Of course, this is the most expensive option with the surgeon's fee, anesthesiologist fee and surgical room fee. I'm looking at thousands of dollars However, if they can fix it, I would find a way to pay for it. Apparently, Stillwater Skin & Spa feel they are being unjustly targeted and reminded other businesses to remain vigilant. With that, if the plastic surgeon is able to fix it, l'll attach a copy of his diagnosis, surgical procedure, all fees and a photo of my face post surgery. Regardless, I will attach a copy of the diagnosis I received from each doctor I consulted with. As l've said more than once, one of those doctors is Stillwater Skin and Spa's medical director. They accused me multiple times of not meeting with them and their medical director. Note, their medical director has been my family physician for 20 years. This should put those accusations to rest. It's very important to me to provide the public updates so this doesn't happen to others. In my opinion, the laser services at Stillwater Skin & Spa should be shut down. The tech that worked on me needs more training before being allowed to perform laser hair removal services. This further proves I'm not out to unjustly target Stillwater Skin & Spa. Nobody should go to this business for laser hair removal. I have no opinion of their other services; laser hair removal was the only treatment I had there. Stillwater Skin & Spa also accused me of threatening to write a review if I wasn't given a refund. This is not true. First of all, they refunded me the portion of my package I did not use. The space is very small/cramped. The room I was put in was directly opposite the door to the lobby, so there was a lack of privacy there. Additionally, the window in the exam room was not covered by a shade or blind, which again is a lack of privacy when the patient has to dress and undress. The actual office's lobby is very nice, with lots of comfy seating, & the person who checked me in was SO nice. This office seems to have an all-woman team, which was really comforting for me! I saw Dr. Scheuer & she was so kind, professional, & thorough. I had a skin exam, which was thorough & gentle, while seemingly fast. She was able to answer all of my questions, prescribed me some medication, & recommended a follow-up; I'm actually excited to get to come back in a couple of months.
