My mom had removals here in the past and always healed with very minimal scarring, so I was surprised and disappointed with my more recent experiences over the last couple of months. Healing seemed different than what she'd experienced before, and the scarring was much more noticeable than expected. I'm not sure if something changed with the process or materials used, but unfortunately the results have made me hesitant to bring her here in the future if this continues. I'll still give two stars because the doctors and staff have always been very kind and professional, and the procedures she had done last year healed extremely well with almost unnoticeable scarring. My expiernce was bad at beginning and haven't been back to Dr. TAREEN SINCE ZJULY ITS CONTINUING TO BE BAD. my cancer that was removed from lower leg in mid July was cut so deep and I was ignored when I called to talk Michelle the nurse practioner about my wound looking infected and I was never called back that I got 4 types of bacteria in my cancer wound. My cancer wound wasn't healing I was sent to a wound specialist from end of July till September. My dr bills are over $7,000 from the Dr's in between seeing my primary dr, to another dr to get antibiotics for the 4 bacterias of a infected leg to the wound c a re specialist going twice a week from July through September. Going to Dr. Tareen was the worst mistake I made. I reported to billing department why I wasn't paying my bill, to a call from the lady that's over the offices in which she is one sided she told me her nurse practitioners come before patience the way way I see patience should become even the dr. . Nicole is now calling me once a week wanting to sign paper that I will not come back to dr. Tareens office. Today the ceo called me for what I have the slightest I know this office is not for my well being beginning from the cut on my leg to 4 bacterias that could've killed me now being harassed by ceo of dr. I chose Tareen Dermatology primarily because of proximity to my home and their professional-looking website. The facility itself was clean and modern. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly. During digital check-in, I was presented with a paragraph stating that I agreed not to post a negative online review for 30 days. That type of clause is not enforceable, and I raised my concern with the front desk. I was told that many patients complain about it. Since I had already waited weeks for the appointment and could not proceed without signing, I reluctantly did so. The physician who saw me appeared disorganized and left the room for an extended period before returning to perform a biopsy on my leg. Instead of local anesthesia, an assistant used a device intended to "dull" pain. It was ineffective, and the procedure was unnecessarily painful. I was then advised to undergo additional testing unrelated to my original concern. Trusting their judgment and assuming it was medically necessary, I agreed. Insurance later denied coverage because the procedure was optional. After that came additional charges: an upcharged medication not covered by insurance and a subsequent bill for services insurance also declined to pay. My takeaway is that this practice relies heavily on add-on services, non-transparent billing, and patient discomfort to increase revenue. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions about necessity, cost, and insurance coverage before agreeing to any procedures here. read more

I couldn't get through to make an appointment. I waited a long time on the phone only to be put on a call back list. I somehow missed their callback (several hours later). When I tried to return their call, I was put through the same process. Clearly, it would seem they are overwhelmed with their current clients and have no room/time for new patients. Their online system for making appointments seemed only to address cosmetic issues which is not what I needed. I've been going to Tareen Dermatology since Dr. Crutchfield's passing. Dr. Tareen and her team are very professional and "hands on." I'm 56-years old and have been doing Botox and some "maintenance" for the last 10-15 years. The past two times, I had Dr. Tareen also used some filler in my face and lips. They look fabulous! It's an okay place. They seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to acne. I just went in for acne care so it's all I can speak on. It's a pretty big place and lots of nurses. I did feel slightly rushed and the atmosphere was chaotic. All the employees felt like they just drank 4 shots of espresso and didn't know what to do with all the energy. One of the WORST experiences with medical people I've ever had. I am 67 years old and am in very good condition but have a skin/arthritis condition that has been crippling. After meeting with a "dermatologist" i followed her suggestion in taking Stellara which immediately started in with negative effects. I called to let them know and left a message... the returned my call later that night which I missed. I returned the call but only got voicemail. I figured they would follow-up which they never did and when I called for the second dose I was told by the pharmacy that Tareen cancelled my prescription, without even bothering to inform me. I finally called back and they were totally defiant and defensive about their decision. When I asked why they didn't inform me of the cancellation she said its not their policy. Never did I expect to feel like a goddess while going to a dermatologist but Tareen's team made me feel that way. I was recommended to the clinic by a few people and reached out to them instead of the U for a skin/spot check after my doctor missed my cancer diagnosis (I'm so glad I kept pestering them and asked for another opinion...thanks Fairview...) Anyway, they already knew my diagnosis at Tareen and they proceeded to do a full body check on all my other spots then they scheduled me for a small surgery to remove the known bad spot. They scheduled me out after the summer to let me enjoy myself before I had sutures and followed up with me about another little troublesome spot that turned out to be nothing but some irritated skin treated with some ointment. When it was time for my surgery Dr Tareen herself asked how my other spot was (I know they have a file they review beforehand but this was so nice and unexpected, her bedside matter is nothing I've ever experienced before - she sees hundreds of people and can still treat each of us like humans). The doctor and the team who cut me and sewed me back up were very nice. I'm glad I brought my book though while waiting in-between checks since the giant TV on the wall with gross pictures made me a little nauseous after a while (and I'm a freakin' vet tech! Maybe I shouldn't have turned down their snacks). Highly, highly recommend Tareen and her team to anyone who needs expert skin care. My husband had a similarly sized spot removed this year as well and he went to the U - his scar is super blotchy and mine you'll barely be able to see in a while. BEWARE. I have seen Dr. Tareen and various staff for a several years. What started off as great care has now evolved into what I would liken to a human version of a puppy mill with little to NO regard for their patients. My most recent example is receiving a bill for nearly $1000 for 2 benign mole scrapes that were sent to an outside lab that is out of network for my insurance. It is beyond my comprehension why Tareeen (who is in network for me) would send to an out of network lab. I had no warning, input or knowledge that this was happening until I received the bill. A typical biopsy should cost a fraction of this amount everywhere else, including at Dr. Tareen's in-house lab. It is excessive and egregious and horrible patient care to send samples out to an out of network lab and say "oh we are too busy to check that." I have zero recourse other than to never step foot in that office again and I will forever caution others to consider the same. read more

If you are one of Dr Crutchfields patients transferring to this clinic, please find somewhere that actually wants your business. They do not want to see any of Dr Crutchfields patients and they will NOT treat you with respect. I was told they are doing me a favor by even seeing me. I had 2 months of Accutane left out of almost a year of treatment being abstinent and taking pregnancy tests every month, once Dr Crutchfield passed I was booted out of the clinic told that I am "rude" for asking questions about my treatment. I felt uncomfortable with the proposed treatment, (that they didn't even ask me if they could perform), and when I spoke up and asked if we could monitor instead, essentially got thrown out of the clinic and told never to come back. Cannot say enough amazing things about Dr Tareen and her entire staff. They found a very hard to spot melanoma on my back and quickly removed it with clear margins. They do incredibly thorough exams on me regularly and every single person I've encountered has been knowledgeable (which is so important when dealing with a skin issue like melanoma!) and kind. I have recommended this clinic to friends and family to get their annual skin checks. A friend's mother in law had some concerning spots and I told them to make an appt with Tareen and they got her in right away, removed the spots but did a head to toe to be extra safe and found two spots of melanoma and a basal - which they removed with clear margins. You know you've found an amazing doctor when they are just as excited as you about clear exams and results. Dr Tareen is the best in MN by far! Every time I go in, I am treated with respect and dignity. Dr. Tareen is excellent, her staff is excellent, the office is always clean and tidy. I wasn't quite sure how to respond at the time and never received a referral list from the office, so I thought I'd just clear the air with her in person at my next appointment. The morning of my appointment I received a call from the poor receptionist from the office, who was tasked with canceling my appointment because Dr. Tareen thinks I "deserve five-star care." After a very difficult and awkward conversation with the receptionist, I hung up feeling like I had just been dumped. Which is exactly what happened. I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism from a doctor, especially one that I really trusted and had been seeing for months. Tareen dermatology changed their policy to "masks optional" with covid and other infectious diseases still affecting the community. They have many medical patients who are immunocompromised that receive medical treatments multiple times a week and their "mask optional" policy puts their medical patients at risk. They clearly don't care about their patients and only cater to their patients receiving cosmetic services. Also, don't plan on actually seeing Dr Tareen, she won't see you unless you have skin cancer, she pushes her patients off to her PA lackeys to do the real work while she busy promoting herself and creating social media content! read more

Dr. Tareen and her staff are amazing! I was very apprehensive at 42 to get a full body scan. I didn't know what to expect and was even more fearful of needles. After expressing my concerns her MA Meg, made me feel at ease when they determined I would need a punch biopsy. She called in another MA to give me a massage while she numbed the area. I didn't feel a thing and the procedure was fast. The next thing worth mentioning is the fact that before prescribing hundreds of dollars in medication, they checked to see what the prices would be with my insurance. This is the absolute worst clinic I have ever experienced, hands down. From the way the treat their patients in office to the way they handle their shady billing. To refrain from writing a textbook, I'll sum it up with they botched a mole removal, told me to come back in to get it fixed, had me wait over an hour before telling me they sent the doctor home already. Tried to also charge me for an office visit for their mistake of making me come back. When I received the $$ bill, my insurance told me I was charged for "an extra long" appt (not by my standards or request) and Tareen's billing refused to deduct. They then failed to properly initiate my payment plan, called me months later to tell me I was delinquent, put me on hold then just hung up, and now 7 months later, they put my bill to collections and told them they've exhausted their resources trying to contact me. So after a year I'm left with a hideous scar by their accident, an over priced bill that I tried to pay and now having to deal with collections after their one attempt in 8 months to contact me. This place is not a healthcare practice, it's a straight up business where she tries to push cosmetic procedures and advertise her family's restaurants, which sadly has been shared with me by many other providers in the region who are appalled at my scar and overall treatment. Do not reccomend. At first I thought I liked going there. I asked for Tareen, saw her once. The rest of the check ups I saw PA young students who couldn't event answer my questions. Had this spot that they couldn't "rule out" to be non-cancerous but they refused to take it out for me and refered me to a plastic surgeon instead.
