I have been a patient of record for several years, over a decade. I have a full body check annually, like clockwork. I have a mole that is weeping and extremely itchy. Have had it for 2 weeks. It actually wakes me up at night. It came on very quickly. I called today, 1-26-2026, to make an appt to see my doctor of record and was told that her first appt was May 7th, 2026. I explained the seriousness of it to the person making the appt. I asked if they had a cancellation list and was told no. If it's cancer that is 4 months for it to get worse. I bet if it was the lady's family that was making the appt she would have been able to find an appt. before May 7th. While we love our doctor the staff at this place is the absolute worst! Our doctor is not an owner of the practice. We used to love the staff but they have made changes and it's BAD! If we didn't love our doctor we'd be gone. Worst staff I've ever dealt with!!! Beware, if you have an issue you'll probably get much worse before you can see your doctor. I would have thought they would keep a few appointments available for serious issues. I guess the money is in cosmetics so they don't leave actual medical spots open. read more

This practice has a new policy illegally requiring a credit or debit card kept on file for medical services. My 91 year old father no longer has a credit card, because of past fraud. So in order for him to be seen (he is a skin cancer patient) they bullied him into agreeing to keep his debit card on file. He has been a patient of this practice since it opened, and of Dr. Longs for 20 years before that. It is illegal in the state of mn to require this for a medically necessary service. read more

Normally I would wait and see how I like a provider over time before writing a review, but I have had such a great experience with this one already so far, that I just had to Yelp about it. First, let me say that I have seen a few dermatologists in the past 6 years trying to resolve a frustrating skin condition. It has been agonizing paying for and trying dozens of different prescriptions to no avail. And trying to find a good Dermatologist who will listen seemed like a losing battle after reading all the Yelp reviews! A lot of them seem to be just in it for the cosmetic side, which brings them the most money. That was the experience I had with the last one I saw, and I had just about given up when I read about North Metro on Yelp. I decided to send an email to this provider and 5 others asking about how they treat my condition. 4 out of 6 emails garnered some type of lame sales pitch or form letter response. Only this provider and one other (Pinnacle) actually showed concern and reached out and asked questions, asking what I had tried and seemed genuinely wanting to help. I was so impressed with Lindsey, the medical assistant who emailed and talked to me, that I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Long. The jury is still out as far as my skin condition goes, but after my appointment yesterday, I have a new treatment plan that I felt part of designing, and most importantly I have HOPE for the first time in a long time. I even thought of more questions after I left, and was able to get them answered by email. I will be updating this review as treatment progresses. read more

My first time to get a body scan of my moles (long overdue since family history of skin cancer). The doctor was very thorough and answered other questions I had. She was friendly and easy to talk to. I did have a couple spots removed and biopsied. These were my firsts so I don't have knowledge of how quickly my skin should heal but it's been 4 months and there are still deep purple scars, perhaps that is just how my skin that reacts. I also met with the esthetician. Great talking with her and getting the best info on what to do for my aging skin, especially getting the best bang for my buck. The office staff are very friendly and helpful when coming in to pick up more skin care items. Highly recommend. read more

went in for spots on my face (AK) had my reg Dr. burn them off for years he gave up and sent me to north metro dermatology for exam the Dr. talked me in to the blue light treatment sounded good came back 3 days later for treatment 1 the girl did not no what she was doing she dabbed the treatment juice on my face in about 15 spots then waited in lobby for 90 min to soak in then under the blue light room for 15 min done treatment 1 woke up the next day with 15 spots on my face waited 3 weeks treatment 2 this gal new what was going on she rubbed the juice all over my face to ensure all spots are taken care of then waited in lobby for 90 min then under blue light for 15 min the next day my whole face was red but i felt this made sure to get all the AK spots on my face went back 30 days later to see the Dr. told her the story and she started to dismiss the first treatment she said it looks like we got it no we did not because we never got the right first treatment the girl that applied the juice was not trained right after i told the Dr. I was not happy with first treatment she agreed with me and told me she would have the nurse schedule a new appointment right away its been 6 weeks never got a call back looks like i start all over at my Dr. new referral not impressed read more
